ive watched this at least 10 times in the past 3 days . so awesome . , and i knew they were from staten island from the first time ,just because of the way the singer says "Amarican" in the first verse
I go to southern! The same high school that the drummer and the guitarist/vocalist graduated from! I play the drums and write music and these guys are inspirations to me.
I go to southern! The same high school that the Drummer and vocalist go to! And I play the drums and have aspirations to do pretty much what these guys do.
@liptakinator Really? I liked the song and the playing, but I found it very difficult to hear the guitar at times. It was getting muddy and indistinct in a couple parts. The cleans were good, but the distortion had a washed out sound. Just my opinion.
In my opinion, Lumping musicians into genres & categories is not an effective/respectful way of describing an artists sound. The only way you could generalize an artist would be if they played strictly one style of music (BB KING=RHYTHM &BLUES). Once the influences start piling up (Vampire Weekend) its best to say "they sound like..."
Cymbals Eat Guitars was one of my favorite acts @ Pitchfork 2009 & "Why There Are Mountains" was one of the best albums of 2009; Check out SUN 0))) for the best.
i haven't actually. my friend told me i'd like them so i looked them up and saw this video. no need to draw such bold conclusions. plus, i thought what i said was a compliment.
They're playing for free in Brooklyn tonight!

Great emotion from the guitar/vox, wish the rest of the band didn't appear to be in slow-motion. Especially the drummer, man. Get into it.
