  • oh yeah, club 506, chapel hill tomorrow night

love how chapel and hill don't get spell checked with little red squiggly line

refuse the tyranny of a computer teacher's red squiggly pen

    typoss ruule

  • This is such a perfect version of this song.

  • i guess its a good thing that i'm missing them at music hall of williamsburg this evening.

  • fans of this should listen to green plastic whistle on soundcloud. revitalize the 90's!

  • is it just me or are that lead singer's vocal expressions extremely fascinating?

  • ive watched this at least 10 times in the past 3 days . so awesome . , and i knew they were from staten island from the first time ,just because of the way the singer says "Amarican" in the first verse

  • @jAneFo0Tpu5sy haha guessing you're from S.I. as well?

  • I go to southern! The same high school that the drummer and the guitarist/vocalist graduated from! I play the drums and write music and these guys are inspirations to me.

  • I go to southern! The same high school that the Drummer and vocalist go to! And I play the drums and have aspirations to do pretty much what these guys do.

  • The vocalist is REAAALLY good looking

  • not too bad.

  • jesus, they sound so toit! love this band!

  • i was really digging this until the vocalist started singing

  • not to be douchey or anything...but please listen to my videos if you can! low, I know... but please do!

  • Man, this KEXP shit is all right!

  • Has anyone got any tabs for the intro solo to this?

  • I hate to admit this but damn, pitchfork got it right this time.

  • I think he's a sonic youth fan

  • These guys are possibly the most powerful live band I've seen. I saw them the night before last, and only now have my ears stopped ringing.

  • I used to dislike his singing. But now I love it!!!

Great band, great song, great performance.

  • I love this album, cheers from sweden guys!

  • great

  • hey i like these guys

  • mind massacre.........beautiful

  • catharsis 3:43

  • Great emotion from the guitar/vox, wish the rest of the band didn't appear to be in slow-motion. Especially the drummer, man. Get into it.

  • Amzing looking Jaguar, it looks brand new

  • @16metres Its a jazzmaster

  • @cal839 sorry, the bass is the jaguar than, mistake

  • The Bass is a Precision Bass.

  • @NeatStar i'm seeing ghost, woops

    amazing band, still

  • @NeatStar i'm seeing ghosts, whoops

  • i think he has the perfect guitar sound

  • @liptakinator Really? I liked the song and the playing, but I found it very difficult to hear the guitar at times. It was getting muddy and indistinct in a couple parts. The cleans were good, but the distortion had a washed out sound. Just my opinion.

  • @schmidty8890 I think that the muddy guitar sounds are just a result of it being on youtube.

  • Instantly after hearing this I thought it was awesome. Good job on finding this band Kexp!

  • @royconway : that sucks to know. I was deciding on whether to give them a chance to put them in my lollapalooza line up :/

  • the music, especially the bass, is amazing. it's the vocals that are a little on the boring side.

  • this song blows towards the end.... blows...

  • 2:54 "oh shit they're filming me? better not laugh!"

  • I'm on a roll dunt foud two cool bands floatin around this site.

  • Does that mean that drums > guitar? :P

  • haha no its from a quote by some famous musician (cant remember who) who said that the sound of cymbals overpowers the sound of guitars.

  • @auwekama Yeah haha. My friend complains about that all the time ;)

  • In my opinion, Lumping musicians into genres & categories is not an effective/respectful way of describing an artists sound. The only way you could generalize an artist would be if they played strictly one style of music (BB KING=RHYTHM &BLUES). Once the influences start piling up (Vampire Weekend) its best to say "they sound like..."

Cymbals Eat Guitars was one of my favorite acts @ Pitchfork 2009 & "Why There Are Mountains" was one of the best albums of 2009; Check out SUN 0))) for the best.

  • sounds like isaac brock's vocals and stephen malkmus' guitar playing.

  • That's been made preeeeetty obvious by now if you've read reviews of their album, which I'm sure you have.

  • i haven't actually. my friend told me i'd like them so i looked them up and saw this video. no need to draw such bold conclusions. plus, i thought what i said was a compliment.

  • Yup. I could watch this a thousand times.

  • Favourite song, album and band of the year.

  • might be my favorite song of this year
