  • She certainly wrote some very idiosyncratic songs (All very enjoyable)

  • @ewaf88 Is that another word for stupid songs.LOL

  • @Eamonn20a Well clever and original. To be honest most Pop songs written today sound the same to me. We need some songwriters who understand melody. Very few modern composers do.

  • my fave song from LdP What a great talent she was

  • God I remember Thunderthighs version too - wow - this is wonderful - i played this a milion times. It has a tension and urgency about it - and those strings and piano - fabulous and Lynsey's vocal too. Fantastic - one of the best pop songs ever made. Thanks for this. x

  • She is releasing songs on her own online music store as mp3s and this is one of them - see her website

  • Lynsey is AWESOME!

  • Thunderthighs version is also on youtube!

  • love it ! :)

  • Is this the vinyl version that has been downloaded as I can hear crackling and scratches that remind me of the old days of turntables?

  • @Glenn1967ful

I still play my 12" vinyls on my turntable. Forked out for good one last year ~ £450.

Wouldn't part with my vinyls for anythin.

  • @bootsamou

I did see one in a specialist electrical store for about £ 500 last week.

  • It's a fun song and shows Lynsey's versatility as a songwriter, regardless which of the two versions you prefer.

  • brill!!!!!

  • thunderthighs (mott the hooples backing ladies)

released this as a single, a meatier version would be nice to find that again

  • You'll probably find the Thunderthighs' version on a 70s collection. I've got a triple CD collection of 70s hits and it's on that, but I've also got the original singles of both versions of the song!

  • great single used to have-b side sally wants a red dress was good fun

  • Thunderthighs' version is on the Forever 70s triple CD set.

  • I have it on a cassette recorded from Capital radio in 1974. I'll get it converted to MP3 if possible and upload it.

  • Brilliant. I've been searching for this for ages; couldn't find it on any "Best Of" CDs. Thank you for posting.

  • super duper song :)

  • fantastic song. :)

  • great song.

  • In 1974, I bought the Lynsey de Paul single "No Honestly" after enjoying the television comedy of the same name. Like you, I played the B side, which is much better. I feel that Lynsey de Paul's music career may have been restricted due to a poor choice of singles.

  • Good one - thanks for posting this rare Lynsey track.
