@beelzeb0z0 hello friend i'm trying to do the same installation on a P7P55D-E but i'm getting kernel panics do you have any idea how i can solve this problem?
@FreedomFighterReturn Will not work with a MacBook OS X install disc as it is designed specifically for your MacBook. You would need to purchase the 10.6 or 10.6.3 OS X Snow Leopard client install disc.
I follow your installation guide, but i have a problem! I boot from iboot GE (I tired iboot support, etc. but all for this situation) the my 10.6.0 Retail disc, but after the while i got this problem: "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the power button until it.....etc..." (I tired -f -x) What do i do now? Thanks!
@SlimColt1989 Yes, it seems that iBoot-GE isn't working well for some. I just installed a GTX 470 but had to use an older version of iBoot-Unified booting with -x to swap out my 8800 GT and install the new card. There seems to be a conflict with the IntelCPUPowerManagement as the system loads which causes the system restart message to appear cause a hard power off. I'm not sure why this is a problem but hopefully they address it soon. I will post a video guide once I can do a clean install.
hey i did all of steps on the BIOS already ...i put in the iboot cd and everything is fine until then....then i put the os x install dvd and i press f5 but after a few seconds all it says is error!!! nothing happens it just tells me that it cannot read it ...and it is a RETAIL dvd please help
Can you please advise what hardware is ok to load Snow Leopard onto an Intel computer? I've now tryed your method on 7 computers, but each time I get to the part where you click enter with the retail Snow Leopard DVD in the drive, it has a reaction and closes the computer down, or I get a kernal panic error.
Surely all 7 computers can't have the same hardware fault.....please help !!
@renegadefm 7 Computers? I cannot advise you what hardware is ok for 7 computers. Did you fail to realize that my guide is only for installing OS X on an ASUS P7P55D and I specifically stated that I only know how to install OS X on a PC with my specific hardware.
Could someone please tell me, I'm assuming just before you format the drive your going to load Snow Leopard onto, assuming I had Windows XP or Vista or indeed Windows 7 previously, providing I left that in tact its going to be a dual boot, am I right?

@ xrsphere Bootcamp only works on a real Mac. You can partition 1 hard drive in half or use 2 different hard drives, one for each OS which is what I suggest. My OS X 10.6.3 guide talks about dual booting so you can take a look at that. It should be the last part of the series.
hey man, thanks for the video. what would be the best way to set up a dual boot with Windows 7 after fresh-installing OSX on it? would Boot Camp work?

Can I use the OS X disk that comes with iMac to install this?
MiJaEllis 9 months ago
@MiJaEllis No, you need the purchase the retail client upgrade disc; either 10.6 or 10.6.3.
beelzeb0z0 9 months ago
@FreedomFighterReturn You won't find HPET in bios because it's passive. If you extract a DSDT of your system, you will see it there.
