  • AWESOME!

  • super morceau ! repris par notre groupe ORIO le 21 juin 2011 pour la fête de la musique à Chateauneuf les Martigues (FRANCE) une vidéo en ligne

we try to play it as good!

  • Brad Delp looks a lot like Jeff Bridges in his Dude role from the Big Lebowski. lol.

  • Gosh, why after a person is gone do we as a whole truly realize how special that person was? I wish Mr. Delp would've realized how special he was.

  • It's amazing to see so much power and soul in one place! One of the best bands of all time.

  • whos the babe????

  • @robertgr1 Very good Thanks for posting this.

  • Saw them at Boston Garden in 1979, I was 15.

First time I saw someone smoking a joint.

    Never forget.

  • so, i'm watching this video and thought to myself "i wish I could have heard him sing" and then like a lightning bolt I remember seeing him in davis sq somerville ma, in a small club, with is band doing Beatle covers. DUH!

  • led zep was the best these guys are for sure 2nd best

  • lmao @ fudgefucker...good1

  • Gosepumps''So super good musik:)

    Boston-is one of a kind !

  • Supernatural hells yeah

  • Is that sheryl crow on bass?

  • This is the music my brother listened to during the happiest times in his life...Boston is the featured music on his memorial dvd.

  • great studio band but they suck live!!!!

  • @MrDuaner123 is that some kind of joke? how do you not realize how tight these guys sound for a live band? the vocals might be a LITTLE off, but have you fuckin HEARD the vocals on their studio versions? i had the lucky opportunity to mess around with "more than a feeling" on pro tools and solo out the vocals. each harmony has like 3 tracks. you can't duplicate that live... learn something about music bro.

  • @tommyed4695 well said!

  • you missed the beginning. fan fail.

  • such great music seen them live when I was about ten loved them every since.can't beleive this guy killed himself after making such happy music.

  • this brings memories only BOSTON can produce. they are GODS!

  • AWESOME!!!!! Best concert i ever saw wsa in Pittsburgh, Bostons Corporate America Tour!! RIP BRAD!

  • BRAD DELP RIP

  • is that a chick playin?

  • yes

  • Brad Delp sounds great here........unfortunately the background vocals really pale in comparison, and kinda ruin the chorus.

  • Delp was the shit. HELL YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • 1978 the LOUDEST album ever!!!!!great music never dies!

  • As a Boston fan in the 70s I have been way out of touch. While on this web site I have learned about Brads death. Sad. One of the best RandR groups of the decade if not the best

  • wonder if he knew what he meant to rock n roll ?????...or music in general...love it

  • hey everyone there's a great new band called renegade and all they play is classic rock and songs they write sound just like classic rock and their drummer always wears boston shirts haha

  • Great live sound.

    Especially the keyboard!

Anyone know what sort of organ it is?

  • @lonsktube It's a Hammond - B3 organ sound. Now whether it was an actual B3 that was being used, I can't say for sure.

  • Fantastic group....never get tired of hearing this song....

  • Bahhh lucky you! I wanna see em!

  • Boston was well known for staying as close to the studio version as they could live. i personally like it when a band does this. Stripped down or rearranged songs aren't my cup of tea. Long live this awesome band RIP Bradley

  • everyone gives Eddie Van Halen props for changing guitar ..... this band had a hell of a lot to do with the NEW rock sound that emerged in the 70's Tom Scholz played his part too but when Van Halen emerged he kind of got lost in the shuffle. Boston was a much more accomplished band as far as musicianship goes but Van Halen had the BIG SHOW that at the time outshined boston.

  • I would love to play this song live with a korg wave drum! Hell,I just want one.hahaha

  • boston in 1976. now that was true awesome. like i said and alwayys will, had to be there. i was fideen right after i saw carlos santana. talk bout hearing great guitars.

  • boston? awesome? YES

  • saw Boston in omaha bout 95 scholz played this incredible pipe organ on this.classic memory.rip brad

  • I gots goosebumps!!!

  • Boston FTW!!!!!!!!!

  • im sad concerts are jonas brothers and miley cyrus and not this anymore

  • @Conf1ictz me too, im a 15 year old guy and i wish i couldve seen Boston years ago. but the good news is that a lot of bands from back in the day are still touring! i just saw RUSH a month ago and Aerosmith tours a lot, so i'd like to see them sometime.

  • Hey! This is just Longtime!! where's Foreplay??

  • Kimberly Dahme..........WOW Could have fooled me! Thanks Pal.

  • Hey, What happened to the intro? I loved that intro...

  • The female should have a good voice my friend...........she's Sheryl Crow.

  • @tommiesaysso She isn't Sheryl Crow. She is Kimberley Dahme.

  • I was 17 yrs old when I first listen to this song, I´m 50 now and still gives me the chills, WOW!!!, What a great memories, I wish I could go back in time!!!...Thank you for sharing this

  • ROOOOOOOOOOOOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that's just great music.....nothing more needs to be said...

  • He truly was an amazing vocalist - readily evident even here, in "later" years - and an amazing person. I will never forget about the details of his suicide. He made sure that their cats were out of harm's way, and posted notes on every possible entrance to the house - to make sure that there was no chance anyone else would be hurt. Just unbelievable...

  • Very good audio though for a portable cam!

  • Sure missing Barry on that 2nd solo!

  • Robert, thank you for sharing this!

  • "get out piece of %$&&%!!" (4:00) :)

  • Once a band loses it's original, it's not the same band.

  • nothing better than a tall, sexy, big titty bass player!

  • it's been such a long time I think I should be goin', yeah time doesn't wait for me it keeps on rollin' sail on, on a distant highway, yeah I've got to keep on chasin' a dream I've gotta be on my way wish there was something I could say well I'm takin' my time I'm just movin' on you'll forget about me after I've been gone and I take what I find, I don't want no more it's just outside of your front door
  • this is what happens to ninety-nine out of a hundred youngsters ina modern civilised community. They are pushed into work they do not want to do, and it cramps and cripples them. I suppose nearly all servants and employed people find it necessary to ridicule their employers and directors.

  • this is BOSTON, you don't wear cowboy hats....jesus....

  • @StephenHardyMusic she's a country guitarist...you ever even hear the album corporate america? one of its best songs is country. plus let me take you home tonight is so country.

  • @twiggymac then she needs to be in a country band. Not Boston. I heard Corporate America and I refuse to associate that album with Boston. And what song are you talking about, Stare Out Your Window?

And Let me Take You Home is not country..........I don't even know how in the world you could make that claim. What is country about it?

  • @StephenHardyMusic with you is country. and that album was not bad, walk on was definitely worse than corporate america, i had a good time and stare out your window are great songs.

as for let me take you home tonight it has country roots, and slide guitar (mostly in country and blues) and was influenced by brad's favorite band (the beatles) which also was influenced by country. so saying that song is not country at all is incorrect

  • @twiggymac A slide doesn't make it country. Just because the Beatles might've influenced by country, but then I could say that all of Boston's songs are country. Take you Home is more Gospel than it is country (the end of the song), but it's just funky classic rock.

I think Corporate America was tons worse. It had 2 good songs, but even they were hardly BOSTON. Different opinions I guess.

You can't sing like Brad Delp and be country, plain and simple.

  • @twiggymac I listened to the song again, and the guitar solo with the slide DID sound a bit country, I admit. But the song definitely isn't.

  • @StephenHardyMusic no the song isn't, but it definitely has country backgrounds

  • Great song.

  • who is this guy?

  • i love you ppl walk in front of your camera the second i really care whats going on the big screen ((guitar solo))

  • Don't get me wrong, This was good and I definately enjoyed listening TY for the post! But is it still considered Boston? I guess what I'm saying is that is a band really the same when one or two or four other members aren't present?

  • @Maxharddrive64

Boston is Tom Sholz although I will admit the songs without Brad Delp aren't the same...

  • Im not trying to be a smartazz, but its kinda like if you take one or two or all but the mayo ingedient out of a BLT it's no longer a BLT but just a mayo sandwhich. When a member of a band that contributed to making it's music famous is no longer there it changes the dynamic no matter how masterfull their replacement is as a musician. Sometimes its better sometimes it isn't. I guess thats the beauty of music.

  • @Maxharddrive64 yes, but what if you changed it for the better? like processed meat patties with unprocessed meat patties, or something, so its better than it was before? lol not to be a smartazz either, just saying

  • Yep, but it's no longer a BLT. And "better than it was before" is a relative term because it comes down to choice right? What one person may consider 'better' the other may consider 'worse'.

  • Saw Boston in Buffalo,1978.I was 13years old.Friggin unreal.

  • @clwilu94 im very jealous at you :) why o god why were i born in a time full of crappy music

  • @clwilu94 ditto Louisville ky

  • Let us go to the essence: Boston is an awesome rock band. One of a kind.

  • Only the Eagles could reproduce those "super human" harmonies......still love the old "Boston". Most of these acts have become coverbands of themselves. But....it does keep that music alive.

  • they don't sound like they used to back in the day. Ok, but nothing like then.

  • if theres gonna be 2 singers she cant be putting some country high pitch shit into it my god its boston not the dixie chix......not to mention her voice doesnt have the right tone to sing with him good song but she ruined it

  • Well, the female singer does have a good voice but the harmonies don't sound original because I believe most of the original harmonies were Delp. He still sounded good here, just a few years before his death. Sad.

  • Beautiful! Love this, thanks for posting!Amazing, wish I would have seen them live, what talent!

  • what guitar/amp(s) does he use?

  • @222131313222

    Les Paul Custom Goldtop

Marshall stacks with all the knobs turned all the way up

  • @superioroilDOTinfo ok thanks, thats sort of what i was thinking, with the tone and the great sustain lol

  • is it just me or does that chick completely destroy those awesome harmonies? why is she even there? lol

  • @ValhallaAwaitsU Tom Scholtz found her in some joint singing and he loved her voice so she's in Boston now. She does have a good voice, though the fact that this was recorded with a cell phone and isn't refined by studio magic means everything sounds like ass.

  • i got bored

started listening to rage against the machine and that sweet sweet timberlake

justin fans know what im talk'n bout

    BOSTON!

  • First Album tour started it all 4 me(First tour was with Southside Johnny,Starcastle, and 2 other bands I can not recall(1976)Nassau Coliseum NY.Anyone?

  • shut up woman

  • nmlss666. Christianity doesn't believe in being gay. But some pastors, priests, and members of the Church seem to be ok with it.

  • @Fularmor Everyone and everything ever is gay. Especially anti-matter. THE END.

  • TheTC, Not everyone or everything ever is happy or homosexual. If someone is pro something, chances are that someone is against something. Then there are some who are neither pro or anti. They stand for little. It's only the beginning.

  • Unfortunately, or probably fortunately, people (we) are "political creatures." Do not forget.

  • is it just me or they tuned the guitar down like a half step or a all step to match the guy voice, the guitar sounds lower to me =/ but it was awsome anyways, RIP Brad

  • No it's the same.

  • It's just you. The song is going in the original tone.

  • camera man is douchie!

  • Great, i try to listen to brad and i have to listen to some bassist bitch screaming in the backround.

  • RIP BRAD, Hope you know we ALL MISS YOU MUCH, BUT THANKS FOR YOUR RICH MUSICAL LEGACY! XOXO

  • wtf is a woman doing in boston...

  • Believe its delph's daughter, has her own band, opening act for boston.

  • No no no no no no no no no no no, its Kimberly Dahm and she is in Boston and not Brads daughter! She has been with them for like 6 years and is a great player!

  • the guitars sound just like the album

  • These guys were some of the nicest guys youd ever meet. Met them backstage at the Oak Collesium about 1988. There was a basketball practice setup back there and we all shot some hoop. Toms manager reemed him out, worried he might break a finger or something. Couldnt believe what regular nice guys they all were. RIP Brad

  • This makes me so sad. I remember the exact moment I learned that Brad died. I was devastated. I was angry. I was sad. I was mad as hell at him for doing this to so many people that truly cared for him. I know depression is an illness. I know it can kill the soul. But dammit, we all miss Bradley Delp so much.

  • Anyone who is suffering from depression....can you feel the sadness ;and the senslessness of a precious life lost to suicide?...It is NEVER the answer...We are ALL God's children. He gives us Life as a precious gift...We all must show our appreciation for this gift of life,by getting to know the Lifegiver. He can be found in His Holy Word...and by prayer.

    (Phillipians 4:6,7)

  • I've always loved BOSTON, always listened to that amazing voice and wondered "how thw hell can someone sing like that", I just saw last night that Brad took his life, THAT HURT, such a talent, so lonely, may he rest in peace.

  • how did u get tickets they like never perform

  • Boston was americas favorite rock band back in the good ole days.

  • ADVENTURE BOUND SCHOOL OUTSIDE OF CHARLOTTESVILLE V.A. 1985 THRU 1987 CONTACT ME IF YOU WAS THERE AT THAT TIME @ merishane ON YOU-TUBE !!

  • This is the first time I have seen this video. I saw these guys in '79 and as a bassist, I have to say that although I wanted to be Fran Sheehan at that time, he never sounded as good (or looked as good) as Kimberly Dahme does in this video. Still have my vinyl, too!

    RIP Brad.

  • Too bad you couldn't get foreplay.

The hypserspace on the long time intro was real freaky for this performance LOL

Still wish coulda seen a concert with Delp, he always looked like a crazy asshole.

  • you guys gotta give Tom SOME credit, hes not doing bad even with Brad gone. besides, he would of wanted his band and legacy to live on...

  • your completley right, all the people saying tom can't create what was brad's is correct, boston will never find a singer quite like brad, but boston is tom's band and the amazing instrumentations will not change.

their knew singers are trying their bests as well but no one has a voice as good as brad's.

boston will live on, i mean walk on wasn't a horrible album and brad wasnt in that

  • we love you Brad

  • I guess brad just got tired of money and good lookin women.

  • Brad Delp was one of a kind, in music and life. What a true inspiration to follow your dreams. RIP Brad. We miss you, and with you went Boston. Tom can try to create what was yours, but it will never happen...EVER!

  • Well said Dude. I saw these guys on the "Don't Look Back" Tour when I was a kid. They were good. Their other guitar was really good. I saw Aerosmith a few months before this show and Whitford and Perry started playing two different songs at the same time, and after a 30 seconds or so they had to stop and people booooed their asses. Times were different then. Everybody was wasted. But Boston had their shit together. They were good!

  • Absolutely kick ass! Just like every Boston song, and performance, this is classic! I have to replace the CD now, wore out about 10 copies of the album when it came out!

Long live the memory of Boston and Brad!

  • One of the best Boston songs ever

  • one of the greatest bands ever. If I could have met Brad Delp, he would not have not commited suicide

  • wow this is awesome..still remember buying this album and being totally blown away by it..great stuff..RIP Brad..

  • I couldn't have said it better. It's just a shame there was so much in fighting and lawsuits within Boston which ultimately resulted in long waits in between albums. One can only wonder how many more great songs and albums may have been produced had Boston not had so many struggles early on.

  • I still have my albums! Love Boston even today they are one of the best Rock bands...atleast you can understand them!

  • This is the greatest song of all time period.

  • These guys were great for the "Walk On Tour" with Fran Cozmo & Brad BOTH singing. I've never heard them as good as back then...sadly.

  • The most highly educated group of all fuckin' time. two PHD's, 3 Masters, and that was from MIT and Boston College.

    JF

  • la rola esta pasada de lanza de perra, VIVA BOSTON!!

  • great but missed out on the git solo

  • yeah didnt the lead singer commit suicide or somethin like that? that sucks but his vocals are prob one of the best there is and ever will be. but the new guy does a good job too

  • Sadly yes.. Noone will forget him. But yes, the new singer does an amazing job! :D Boston forever !

  • Comment removed

  • Brad Delp, one of the best rock vocalists I've ever heard. Michael Sweet does a fine job, but it just *isn't the same*...the bassist(Scholz' GF?) would do better to put that bass away.

  • Then what should she do?

I think she did a great job backing Brad's vocals.

  • brad died from a candle that he lit in his bathroom and like the chemicals spread and he smelled them or something like that they say it was suicide but i dont think it was r.i.p. brad what a great voice

  • who's brad?if it is the singer he blew his brains out with shotgun :'(((( R.I.P

  • uhh i think that was Kurt Cobain dude

  • Dude RAG, that was a fail

  • Brad Delp left a suicide note stating 'I'm a lonely soul". He died from having a lit charcoal grill in closed quarters in his bathroom, in March, 2007.

Horrible. He will be missed deeply.

  • I'm kind of new to the whole Boston thing. What did Brad Delp die from?

  • went out bieng lonely

  • brad sounded great even when he got older

  • Saw them live last year, they're doing pretty fine without Brad. I just think that they would a little better if they just had Michael Sweet do all the vocals, because the other guy doesn't sing with as much feeling as Brad or Michael do.

  • And these guys were originally a bunch of computer geeks. Whodathunkit. :)

  • Still are, they own the patents on darn near every electronic gizmo used in music today lol

    Viva la MIT lol

  • Quote: "Still are, they own the patents on darn near every electronic gizmo used in music today lol"

Which gizmos? And which members of the band?

Other than Tom Scholz, who sold off Scholz R&D years ago IIRC, I dunno of any other members of Boston who created any "gizmos." He was the only engineer in the band AFAIK.

  • Quote: "And these guys were originally a bunch of computer geeks. Whodathunkit."

Don't know where you're getting your info, but I think you're mistaken. Boston formed in the mid-70s, long before there were any "computer geeks" (except a few scientists and engineers). Tom Scholz worked at Polaroid, the camera company, while working on Boston's first album. He wasn't a "computer geek." I'm not aware of any of the others being computer geeks either, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Actually, Boston's roots go back to the late '60's when Tom and Barry met Brad. The computer geek thing refers to Tom attending MIT and being a musical engineering genius. What he did and still does in the studio has never been duplicated. It's no accident Boston's songs sound so clean and crisp. That's all Tom's doing. Amazingly, record companies continually turned Tom down saying the songs he had recorded for the first album were no good and would never get on the radio. Boy were they wrong!

  • Quote: "The computer geek thing refers to Tom attending MIT and being a musical engineering genius."

Well, just attending MIT in the 60s or 70s didn't constitute being a "computer geek." Computers were the size of small cars back then, and people didn't have them in their homes or on their desktops at work like they do now.

IIRC, Tom was a mechanical engineer or something like that and did R&D for Polaroid (the camera company). How you get "computer geek" outta that, I dunno. *laugh*

  • As for being a "musical engineering genius," that's probably closer to being accurate. His 2 main inventions were the Power Soak and Rockman electric guitar effects devices, which were awesome.

And yeah, Boston's first few records did sound pretty amazing (although that was studio production skill more than engineering). Tom had great conceptual skill when it came to producing multi-tracked, layered songs, and he really captured things well on tape. His guitar sounds were outta this world.

  • R.I.P. Brad Delp

  • this is my fav boston song!

  • These guys rocked so hard, to bad music has taken a turn for the ??????????? I dont get it! M

  • I totally agree! Did you see the Grammy's the other night? They call those songs the best of the best???? What has happened to music? It is sad - at least we have these albums to remember what real music is!!

  • I totally agree.

  • Yeah. Those people at the Grammys are a bunch of clueless idiots.

  • greatsong

    highly underestimated band

  • Wow! I wish I was there

  • 3:47 What the heck?!? Get your ASS outta the way! Do you mind? Im trying to watch the freakin' show! ...Geez, Louise!! Whats wrong with you people?

  • Yeah, the guy blocked out like half of the guitar solo.

  • Who is the chick playing bass?

  • great song

  • RIP Brad

  • saw boston on one of their first tours back at the hollywood sportatorium they were red hot off their self titled debut lp wow those were fun days. i got a chance to see them again in 1979 w/ the Doobie brothers at the Miami baseball stadium, strange day that was the same day that in Chicago that american airlines dc-10 (?) lost an engine on take off and crashed in a field a few miles from O'hare airport. Never forget those times. the concert was great btw

  • You know, as someone who was on board for the original Boston, there's a part of me that almost resents the fact that Tom took a band on the road this past summer and called it Boston. Hey, the new guy almost sounds like Brad, but he's just not him. Delp was a showman, although not the greatest live voice. And a helluva good guy. And I have to ask it---is there any song by Boston that Fran Cosmo doesn't ruin with his vocals???

  • Tom took a show on the road this year? Bizarre & bordering disrespectful. Too close to Brads death.

  • yeah, tommy decarlo is their new singer. he does a great job. he was a credit manager at home depot in north carolina and put a brad delp tribute on his myspace account and it somehow made it to tom.
