  • BF3 needs this

  • DMM is better

  • THIS IS WHY IAM THINKING OF BUYING A NEW AND AWESOME PC

  • Can you throw my boss like that?

  • can i download this demo??????????????

  • 0:32 THE MATRIX STYLE!

  • Too bad no pc games look this good..

I blame shity console ports :p

  • @XcrazyX10 the only reason games are downgraded for the ps3 and xbox360 when pc games are ported to console is cause they dont have near the gaming power of a gaming pc. you kinda had that backwards. pretty much 100% of the games that are on the ps3 xbox and pc all originated on the pc first then ported to console

  • @PsiloCybinDreamX

It is the consoles to blame. Companies don't want to spend massive amounts of money on engines to gain extreme realism when they can do trash to OK looking on consoles for half the price.

BF3 is an example of when a company focuses on PC.

  • @YearZer02022 yeah, thats why Ill always stick to pc gaming.even when a game is completely optimized like Oblivion for example its always going to look better on a pc. I have a 360 and a ps3 but I dont actually use them for gaming its just for media stuff, lol as a matter of fact I dont even own any games for either :)

  • wawwwwwwwwwwwwwww so beautiful........

  • @NongIsReallyFat

And kill off their largest revenue source, the consoles? No way. Not going to happen in this capitalistic world.

  • what about Mafia 2? O_O it has this kind of destruction on some objects.

  • Wow, Imagine playing Battlefield Bad Company 2 with THESE FUCKING PHYSX!?!??!?!

  • The small pieces look bad because there's just two types of pieces: very large ones and very small ones, nothing in between...

  • @WutzGewdNyeggah I think you just need a woman. smileyface:)

  • Whatever you say man:)

  • @WutzGewdNyeggah Yet still you're a complete idiot? Sucks 2 B you man:)

  • @WutzGewdNyeggah I'm happy to know my comments moved you so deeply:) No seriously chip-humpers like you really make my day.

Shave. Shower. Get a live. This is possible!

  • The consoles simply have a wider variety of games. more quantity and quality in gameplay, not just focussing on graphics. The Pc only has a few lame FPS, MMO, and RTs games. Gamers in general simply want more. Deal with it.

  • @tulorta

HAHAHA. You know only 3% of games are on the consoles only and those include Uncharted, Halo, um there's more but I don't memorize them. Most of the top games are already on PC, troll. Most settings on the consoles are put on low running at 720p.. focusing on graphics my ass. I don't hate the consoles, but people make them look like they are better than the PC! In about a few years the consoles WILL be outdated no doubt. They are already struggling with the latest games. Deal with it..

  • @andoi9292 "You know only 3% of games are on the consoles," umm no. its the other way around and its 30% not 3%. people here REALLY need to take a statistics class.

  • Sad that we wont see this in games, thanks to those fucking stupid retarded console peasants.

    Let master race live!

  • Bah looks shitty, random debris is spawned and gravity physics calculations that could be done on CPU.

  • @thepantherx12 What cpu exactly? Because you must have one hell of a computer.

  • @Ronnie51026 Just an xeon3220.

Got the results from fluidmark in async mode 3 emitters 20,000 particles : ]

  • @thepantherx12 Exactly, just a xeon3220. Xeons aren't gaming cpus they are made to make the games and render massive 3d movies. A xeon equipped workstation is the standard for the cg film industry, they can fly through anything.

  • @Ronnie51026

CPUS are general processing units, there is no "gaming" cpu they'll all do the same job, some are better than others but the difference is mostly negligible between modern cpus, you gpu does most of the work after all ( unless your gaming low res)

Also x3220 is just q6600 with some server software features and perhaps a slightly different binning process, any decent quad core ought to be able to do it with that in mind : ]

More than 20k things slow down lots though. 40k = 18sps

  • @thepantherx12 That may be, but each are built for a specific recommended purpose. Just like you can use a 3d design card (can't quite remember the models I think its grx or something) for gaming, they just aren't perfect. A Xeon is the fastest processors out now, they are made for design and gaming. Mostly the highest needed power applications.

  • @Ronnie51026

Not my xeon, its a q6600 with server instructions.

65nm manufacturing process and everything D:

  • @Ronnie51026

I'm not saying gpus arnt needed for phsyics, when there is a lot of rubbish on screen

the gpus do much better ( I'm sure you know)

But this video is prettyy much

Spawn debris in random direction , debris hits stuff, debris bounces ( not complex enough to warrant gpu)

How ever nvidia want to sell lots of graphics cards so of course they will make out that only their gpus can do this sort of things. Loads of games with "phsyx" can be forced to run the "phsyx" on the cpu.

  • @thepantherx12 Phsyx is very useless in games, but in game design it saves hours of work. Trust me it may not be useful or accurate but it makes the designers job so much easier.

  • @Ronnie51026

Mirrors edge being one example I've tried for myself, only the most intense areas would I get a small performance hit ( glass going everywhere! heh)

Sorry for the long reply, but I was a wee bit confused by your post so thought I'd cover each angle ha ha.

Good day, hope to get a reply so I know for sure what you were saying : ]

  • where i can download this demo?

  • "It's raining men".

  • I like this better thank Havok destruction.

  • why do we never get stuff liek this you get those people doing destruction demos where you can dent a barrel and blow a wall up yet we never get anything like that!

  • @RaNdOmGuY340 Because if you just went ahead and stuck it in Crysis, it'd take two minutes to render each frame.

  • @RaNdOmGuY340 i dont know much about this but i expect that normal pcs are not powerful enough to do this in real time yet.

  • @tom1161

A lot could actually, I can run 20,000 particles on my cpu over 60 fps ( quad core @ 3ghz) doesn't take a lot for this kind of effect.

  • @tom1161

More than powerful enough, how ever as most games are made for consoles ( 5 year old hardware) it's kinda holding back the development process : /

  • too bad its not that realistic in the speed that the objects fall to the ground, and they ddnt think about gravity much they seem to be floating a little when they fly across. they should drop a little faster and not weigh as much as a feather

  • Which is why it says "SLOW MOTION" at the bottom

  • @subrubenk lol my bad..

  • What better demo could we ask to use Physics for. Lets just get crash test dummies and throw em at 50 MPH at the wall! GREAT IDEA! xD

  • Amazing get this type of destruction in a future Battlefield game :)

  • @Socomnick Iknow Iwas thinking the exact same thing.

  • Физикс рулит Нвидия рулит мать вашу))))))АТИ тоже хороша но мало развита.....

  • Effekt... Lern a fucking language will ya?

  • Иди в жопу американский урод

  • Comment removed

  • @EffektX721. L2 speak a language, I can do that exact shit by bashing my head to the keyboard.

  • speak fucking english!!!!!

  • Awesome!

  • amazing quality amazing!!!!!!! texture and lighting amazing i wonder what is in store for us in 2010 ;D

  • I would hold back on the arrogance, because you don't seem to understand what is being demonstrated here. It's not the smoke. It's not the looks of the debris. It's the volume of physics and lighting calculations going on.

  • can you imagine a wargame with this? would rock.

  • this would rock, but unfortunatly, the console market dont allow those type of effect...and the console market rule as of right now (and its bad...)

  • Eh they rule with certain titles. Halo, call of duty (which is odd being a PC first game)

but yea overall more of thoes sell on console. but the Straetgy game, Simulator, Larger than 8 ppl multiplayer market belongs to the PC :)

  • i agree those titles rocks, but the difference is that they can EASILY be made on pc...

  • I know. Im a PC user. I know the stuff that impresses consoles is the stuff we've had for years.

  • @TikiShootah the pc already has games that have this destructible engine already?

  • @mat967 That is why there is a pc market also.

  • @mat967 it has always ruled and will further rule. the PC gaming market is minuscule. i cant think of another word to describe REALLY small. and you just better get used to it, PC gaming is diminishing year after year.

  • @GT5Enthusiast you are wrong...the market is far from THAT small. witcher selled over 1.5 million unit (maybe even 2 million) and steam games are ultra popular... you just dont ¨see¨ it as much as console. btw, do you know how much MMO player there are on pc? and its NOT just WOW...

  • @mat967 i don't look at it like that, i look at the developers. Developers decide which platform lives and dies, and they are leaving PC left and right, do to the fact their is no ware near enough money to be made compared to the consoles. you are not supposed to look at the total user base, that is an inarticulate comparison. you need to look at individual games that are multi plat and see who has the most user base. a single person can have multiple MMO games thus an inaccurate comparison.

  • @mat967 example, call of duty black ops: almost 18 mill on console and not even 1 mill on PC. you can not tell me PC gaming is not shrinking. yea their are exclusives too but very few on PC that are even worth mentioning, Blizzard is one company that is even worth mentioning, and one company that has sold over 30 million copies can not save a platform. their are around 60 million PC gamers (not counting the average joe who plays a flash game). and WAY over 100 million on console around 130 mill.

  • @GT5Enthusiast you compare too much, each company has it goal. it look like witcher 2 will be, for now, selled only on pc and the developpers will be ok with that...same for blizzard. when you develop for console, its a hit or miss. it cost WAYYY more to develop on console and a LOT of developpers want to take the risk. and dont forget that games on consoles are less original and polished because players are less demanding. stop comparing too much, its not the same amount of money invested.

  • @mat967 you have that one WAY backwards. it does cost a little more to develop on consoles but the return in 15x more than PC so it is well worth it and very little risk. also PC versions of multi plats are less polished. mass effect 1/2, all the call of duties since 4, Medal of Honor, Battlefield, and tons more. these games are better polished on either 360 or PS3 and were then ported to the PC. i mentioned those games because they are the more popular multi plats.

  • @GT5Enthusiast Battlefield is not more polished on consoles, its optimized enough (for consoles) so it can still look good. battlefield is BEAUTIFUL on pc and even has exclusives features (HBAO,anti-aliasing...). and no, developping on console is not just a ¨little¨ more costly. you need to consider different hardware and big licensing cost. and yes, games like starcraft 2 are more polished than consoles games. I was talking about exclusives.

  • @mat967 just because the PC one looks better doesn't determine if it is more polished. BFBC2 was built on the console and then ported to PC. how can you compare a game that is not on console and say it is more polished than a console game? you need to compare multiplats to determine which is more polished. and dude i have a BA in business i know how all this works with the licensing and i know they are on different platforms. and developing on 360 for one is cheaper than PC.

  • @GT5Enthusiast LOL, battlefield was ported to the pc...GOOD ONE. xD and it look like you BA in business dont give you any clue. So i need to compare multiplatform to see wich is more polished(from your words). BFBC2 is multi-platform and IS more polished on the pc. it look like you dont know technology involved in games. and developping on 360 is cheaper? LOL. I saw a chart not too long ago wich show that, on consoles, the cost is like 5 time bigger. I am programming games, dont try.

  • @mat967 wow you really don't know anything! and i want you to explain to me what makes the PC version more polished. and yes you need to compare the same game. how the hell do you compare one thing to itself? that makes entirely no since. and i think you mean 5 times "more" and that was old also referring the PS3 being 5x more to develop for during its release. while the PS3 is still a little more and not 2x more about .5x more now and the 360 has become easier and cheaper to develop for.

  • @mat967 that is what a BA can teach you. PROPER RESEARCH. also i complete computer geek, i am in school again getting a CIS degree, and then a GSP degree. i also do some at home game programming.

  • @GT5Enthusiast This is too funny to argue with you ^^. your word make no sense, so il stop. :P

  • @mat967 yea coming from the guy who thinks you can compare one thing to nothing. yea that makes a lot of since.

  • @GT5Enthusiast its spelled "sence"

  • @HulluTraceur LOL, no it's not. It's 'sense', not 'sence' or 'since'.

  • @mat967 BTW i cant wait for witcher 2!

  • @GT5Enthusiast not to mention their are more consoles sold that their are PCs that can play a decent game.

  • @mat967 red faction isnt for pc but has the best destruction ul ever see

  • @PockyWord the destruction is fun but far from accurate. This is not really advanced physics

  • DMM is Still better

  • And this fact is based on...?

  • Comment removed

  • DMM: Walls break.

    This: Walls break.

Hell. there's actually particle effects triggered on break with this system (plus havok's)

I'm not sure if DMM can do that.

  • Comment removed

  • I have. I like DMM, but there NEEDS to be more competition. Besides, wod probably could bend in these demonstrations, I mean it's Pysx. They just don't because the focus is on the BREAKING. The cracturing of geometry. If they wanted the wood to bend, I think that would be a different attribute all together.

  • Comment removed

  • sorry, but euphoria is a procedural animation system (sort of AI). physic calculate collision betwen objects...wich is what havok do.

  • sry i was wrong xD

  • glorious

  • cool^^

  • Wow... amazing!
