very impressive lifting. have any of y'all experienced knee or spine problems from these super low squats though? i heard some people talking about that possibly resulting in injury.
@ridehonda107 nah that's sounds like YouTube keyboard warrior myth. The people who told you that only enjoy doing dynamic chair sits and max effort finger-typing reps.
Awesome video I'm training for ipf worlds my first power meet an I wanna start using bands for deads bench an squat but I lift at golds no power gyms around what do I hook the straps to at a regular gym ?
I am 30 years old and weigh around 135. Is squatting 225 and deadlifting 255 good for a guy my size. I find since I have been adding power lifts into my routine I feel so much stronger than I did three weeks ago. I have been going to the gym off and on for the last three years and my longest stint was 6 strait months but always used dumbells. I find now that power lifts are much more effective for strength gains.
@robroythefirstmm i weigh about the same and started doing deadlift and squat a couple months ago, i started at pretty much the same max weights as you but in a short time i'm up to squating 315, and a deadlift of 365. keep working on technique and you'll be lifting big sooner than you thought possible. keep up the good work buddy

I noticed that the big bald guy, i think his name is Louie is doing dead lifts on a rack does this approach to dead lifting help to increase the weight load on the bar, whilst increasing both mass and strength or is it just to make dead lifting more comfortable, i am trying my dead lifts of a pair of AXLE STANDS which can take 2TON in weight each and i elevate them to high medium high to low, just to condition my muscle strength and increase my dead lifts to there maximum, is this ok to do
@mg4463 Good question, first of all yes these are ok to do. If you have ever failed at a deadlift off the floor, it was probably not at the start of the deadlift but somewhere in the middle. This is a common sticking point for anyones deadlift. Louie is doing those rack deadlifts because this works that 2nd half of the deadlift to strengthen their lockouts. I recommend lifting from a height wherre your deadlift usually slows down, but not where you fail. This will teach you to blast through
@CocoKing238 only during Max effort movement, it helps abdominal bracing (pushing your belly out against the belt to stabilize the core - again only during certain lifts, and during max effort.)
is 4:40 just squeezing that with his fingers?...fuckin amazing wtf...how do you even train dat shit..wonder what it helps him on definetely curling...ridiculous
I can't find information about this topic so i'm going to ask here... I had a lot of hard training to go up like 50 pounds on my squat. I made a big PR like one month ago too and i didn't max during this month or maybe more time and I did max effort bench on friday. Strenght went down like 15 pounds =S and my squat got 20 pounds down too =/ what the fuck happened???? can someone answer me? please? i just don't know what happened =/
it's a shame, this COULD have been a good vid if not for all the distractions, people walking in front of the camera, all the crap on the screen, that's just annoying!
@TriangleSquare52 Near Columbus, Ohio. I went there when I was in 6th grade and deadlifted. I almost got triple my body weight. Loiue Simmons lifts there.
I've definitely been sold on the value of box squats. Damn, I wish I had more people to train with like this....It's way more fun when you have a crew, or at least a really dedicated partner who knows what they're doing....
Any deadlift number is fine, as long as it progresses with a massive emphasis on good form, especially starting out! Congrats on getting into the iron.
Luke Edwards is a great example of what one can get from training at WSB. He's got HUGE legs and I love how his deadlift seemed effortless, but at the same time how the bar was bending like mofo after dropping it. Great job Westside!
What are the bands for?

not judging anyone on technique but doesnt completely sitting down on box squats mess your spine up?

Westside Barbell can squat over 1000lbs, but with that deep it isn't A SQUAT. It's just squat on paralel, not under.....

sitting back in the squat and not down is one the keys to making any squat.
