  • Funnily enough, this is more like modern commercials in that it's really just a random cool situation which is vaguely implied to be somehow related to the product. That said, it's still an awesome, All-American feel-good ad. COCA-COLA!

  • yes!

  • Considering cocain was in coke back then actually makes this commercial believable lol

  • people these days are not that fucking nice.......takes a goddamn miracle to land a job now

  • @Shitmyfuknpantsagain maybe if you stopped shitting your pants people might hire you lol

  • @tryandlisten

i like to put it in cups and eat it.......sooooooo u want some?

  • @Shitmyfuknpantsagain nah watching your girlfriends clip with her friend was enough, I dont want to try it myself but thanks for the offer lol

  • LOL absolutely absurd.

  • @sircraigery. Hahahahahahaha!

  • i love the american people they are so sweet !

  • If you want a job, you better get fucking buzzing on coke. Make some sandwiches, and pancakes without fucking it all up, I'll give you a shot at the two whores in blue.

  • I love those feel-good coke ads of the 1980s.

  • Yeah That 18 Year Old Guy Is Great I Wish He Lived At My House

    Yeah Good Old Times !!!!

  • It's from 1984 alright...

  • see what happens when your not an asshole bert

  • coca cola commercials back then were more original than now

  • I think I'm going to lose my lunch.

  • Kid? The guy looks 40...

  • 00:48 - The guy screaming disturbs me.

  • Commercials these days are shit compared to ones like this.

  • If he's THAT good at his job, why is he in a diner? The 80s had a great economy!

  • @scottbaino With that shirt and haircut, he's probably a reformed Wall Streeter. He was way ahead of his time.

  • Cool Comercial! Better back then then now

  • Wow, the were actually telling little stories back in those 80's commercials. I like this commercial because of it's cheerful style.

  • This is my favorite Coke ad to date. I really like how "Burt" and the waitress face each other in disbelief, how the customers react to the boy's work with cheers and applause, how Burt hugs the boy and coiffs him with his hat, how the customers toast the boy with their Coke cups, and even how Burt smiles and points to boy as if to say, "That's my boy!"

  • Same here! :)

  • @patrickballoonman

I like the song in the background too. It saddens me that tv ads these days are not nearly as good as they used to be... and what happens to the jingles? Have hipsters really succeeded in putting into the minds of the general population that jingles are supposedly "cheesy?"

  • Anyone see any continuity glitches?? I see One fairly obvious one can anybody spot it? And a Second one not so obvious.

  • This was my first National Commercial it was filmed right outside of New York City in 1984 at a diner. It was nominated for a Cleo Award and came in second place. My name is T.j. Meyers and I played the truck driver at the counter who yelled yahoo after the kid flipped the pancakes then toasted with a Coke at the end. Sure would like a copy of this. Is that possible I wonder?

  • I think you did a fantastic job, Mr. T.j.

    Meyer! :)

  • This was before it changed to Coke classic, after the new Coke had failed. Nobody didn't like the new coke.

  • I miss the spirit of the old 80's commercials, a lot of happiness in those.

  • i couldn't agree more ;D this spot was titled "First Job" and first aired during the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. i played the guy at the counter with a ball cap who told "Burt" to give the boy a chance then whaahooed the kid after he flipped the pancakes then i toasted him with my Coke.

  • @BroadwayTJ

    That was awesome, Mr. Meyers!!!

  • yummy
