@TheLiberalKnight We may have been one of the most blood thirsty and greedy of all empires, but the smallest European power, that had a lot of internal problems (Scotland and Ireland) STILL managed to conquer the majority of the world. And still is one of the largest powers in the world, although now it's the Anglo/American Empire. Sharing power is a new idea.

@zensaber Bloody thirsty? I think not. We did not want land, we just wanted trade. Land was more of a burden than a luxury for us. That is why we wanted to grant all of the colonies self governance at some point.

I'd prefer to call it the commonwealth :-)
