taeyeon's voice is more generally likable and less restricted. it's easier to adapt to different genres and reach higher notes and still sound pleasant rather than strained. jessica probably has better skill though.

I think in this video jessica is emphasized since the song their singing is ENGLISH~ but honestly it's not about how long you have trained or something... before debut Taeyeon also danced! but now since she's the main singer it's all about the voice so taeng can't show it all...also.... Taeyeon rarely makes mistakes compared to Jessica...

Jessica has the best singing skills in SNSD, but her voice is kind of clear and sweet rather than powerful compare to Taeyeon's voice.

Taeyeon has the most powerful voice in SNSD and when she sings she puts her feeling into her voice which make the audience impressed by the song even though they don't know the meaning. But Taeyeon's singing skill is not the best in SNSD when compare to Jessica.

Both of them have their own unique which one can not replace the other.

Jessica has a very distinct and unique tone, as in, i just have to hear her sing one word, i would immediately know its her. That to me, is the mark of a truly good singer. Taeyeon is a wonderful singer as well of course, but her voice is not as distinct as Jessica's. Some people don't like her tone, but i LOVE it. To each their own i guess.

jessica was born in the US and went to her early grades of elementary school there.

OBVIOUSLY, when jessica went to korea, she focused on learning korean. and taeyeon, as a korean native, focused on learning english.

therefore taengoo is paying more attention to her pronounciation whereas sica's english just comes naturally for her.

@thisisthien In my opinion, Jessica has more overall skills in both dancing and singing. I mean, she did train for 7 years. Taeyeon's voice is just more of a studio voice. Ppl just don't like Jessica's tone, but her skills are the best in snsd. She's just not recognized for it because she's the type of person who settles for good enough. If you look at her videos of her debut and now, her dance was more powerful and her singing too. Now, SM wants her to portray the cute, soft voice, not powerful

@tigggy123 She definitely didn't need more training. She was a famous SM trainee. A past trainee said that once she had Jessica give her advice to improve her singing and it was amazing how much of an impact it made. Prob first to be in SNSD.

Her voice didn't start out cute. It was so powerful during their debut. Not on purpose but starting in 09 her voice got weaker and weaker. Recently she has gotten better but...She definitely did just let SNSD's schedule ruin her voice....
