  • klasjfoaweiewajociewi FUCKKKKK WHY IS YOUR R SO HARDDDDDDD :(

  • Well it's so funny to read the comments of people saying it's difficult. Well it is for non-native speakers but actually I'm french and I live for now 5 years in the US and in first it was hard for me too to say the "R" in english. I gotta tell now it's pretty easy for me ! So I just have to say to others who are learning french "Courage !" it's really fascinating to learn a new language. French is really easy comparing to english anw.

  • its soo difficult

  • Oh. Pfft! Piece of cake I can do this.x3

  • I get so fed up. I sound like a coughing cat or something..

  • @koreboms1993 lol I agree, so funny

  • you know this reminds me of a long ago lessons I had with arabic "r" alphabet pronunciation..anybody realise this??

  • well...im a french native speaker, i did live abroad and, the only thing i can say to people who try to learn french is "dont give a damn **** to how to pronounce the "R" like french people"...pronounce it like you can and it's gonna be ok! French people are stupid but not that much...we can understand easily if a "r" is not pronounced like a "french R"!!!@_@ learn the everyday french, you'll have surprises! ^^

  • @otakuced say that to my french teacher!!! it's so difficult to pronounce the french R for me and it frustrates me

  • Is AU speaking like OU ??? .. :L

  • @supermiimi AU is a long and closed O

  • @frenchmotorbike okay merci

  • Does the French 'r' sound different in different words? In your video they sounded all the same but sometimes I hear such different pronunciations by the same person.

  • I just start learning French and I can't pronounce R. It is so hard. Could you tell me how to pronounce it clearly and easily? It sounds like you're using an H (in English) instead of an R, but I know it's not.

    Merci!!!

  • @bluemelody108

the R sound is made, in french, with the throat (while the english R is made with the mouth)

  • I was always taught that in French, to get your Rs right, you have to swallow them. Don't ask me what that means, but it works for me!

  • Is 'R' sounds is like 'Ah'? lease help !! TY

  • I can say these fast but when I try to say French words quickly it doesn't come out very good.

  • AGHHH! i still have problem with the R...HELP!!

  • is this a native speaker?

  • Yes I am

  • On the other hand, I'm a Spanish speaker, and the French and German r's are very difficult to pronounce for me. They either end up in in a (H) sound or a (G) sound. It's a real shame because they are very cool languages. They sound so awesome. At least in my opinion.

  • It's very similar to the J in jugo. Well, if you're a speaker from Mexico or Spain...

  • @ProLogikalTao

No, the J in Mexico and in Spain are different. The spanish J is too guttural for the french R. Let's say the french R is like a spanish J but softer. Actually the french R is the german R (comes from there)

  • I never had a big problem with the french R, because it's very similar to the German R (voiced uvular fricative [ʁ]). On the other hand the slavonic and Italian/Spanish Rs [r] are nearly impossible to pronounce for me, they always ends up as [z] or [ð] when I try.

  • @bla287 i'm french and i have the same problem with the spanish r. it's impossible for me to pronounciated their r. rrrr

and yes the germans are the only to speak french very well

  • I'm French but have been raised in England by my parents so I actually speak both languages fluently. Therefore I can't say I have difficulty with the French R, but in my class at college there are a lot of people who say it's very hard to pronounce. I guess it just takes time.

  • i believe the french R is a peculiarity in the Universe like the way Hungarians put their last name first or Italians elect Berlusconi

  • il faut s'entraîner pour bien prononcer R..

  • I always found french easy

    R = air?

  • French is so haaard!

  • not really, its just those damn R's

  • its not just practiceeeee yesterday i was so darn frustrated with the r's and i kept doing it now i can (a day later)

literally it took me a while but out of no where i could just do it

you dont really hark it out like some people say you just breathe it out its just exaggerated when people say your harking up a glob of spit *twitch"

  • Some French people still roll their R. If the modern standard R is too hard for you, use the rolled R.

  • Merci beaucoup! This is so helpful! R's are the hardest to pronounce in French, so that's where I need extra help. You make amazing vids.

  • this is the best I've ever seen for R pronunciation training in French. some are just showing off how good they pronounce. glad I found good one for beginner. Merci beaucoup!

  • je suis d'accord

  • Put some sentences together.
