Alright.. Awesome.. Thanks for the help! :D Should get my hair permanently straighten during the holidays because my school doesn't allow to let go of my hair.. (:
@aynsachek 1) Yes I sweat especially when I get my hair done during the summer. Your hair will stay straight. It's gross, but just have to deal with it. 2) When I lay down, I flip my hair all up on the pillow. But I don't think it's critical since I toss and turn throughout the night and it doesn't seem to alter the results. 3) Yes, you can cut your hair. Whichever part of hair that was chemically treated will stay straight.
Oh boy, I remember the first time I straightened my hair with an iron thing... I thought that all types of girls were checking me out. white asian black latino fat skinny you name it man they loved me all. Later the same day my older brother told me "you look mad ugly bro it looks so gay" no offense to gay people I noticed that it was too straight at that time. I straightened it and was told that it was 50? Should I have done a 80 one? dont want it to be too girly straight
My friends' nanny went to the Philipines to visit her family, when she went there, she got her hair highlighted, cut, and chemically straightened for 60$ altogether. Her hair looks amazing now, and I loveeee it! (: I'm trying to convince my dad to let me do this. (:
PLEASE ANSWER :( I permanently straightened my hair a few days ago, and now as soon as my hair touches water; it smells REALLY bad D: Even when its dry it smells but the smell is not that strong. I have school tomorrow and im really scared about going because my hair smells.. what can I do??
If I were to get permanent hair color maybe highlights after a month from getting permanent straight would this damage or return my hair back to frizzy, thick, curly hair?
Ok, my hair doesn't grow fast AT ALL but it's really thin. Do you think it would work? It's not really really curly, it's more wavy and uncontrollable.
hey i have a rough, thick and frizzy hair...and i want it to be straight and soft will permanent straightening be good for me or will it damage too much??????????/ please answer
My hair is really thick, and it grows SO fast. Like 1 inch in 2 months! will my straightening stay? And does it work on really thick and tangled hair?
@keshabigfan1 yes you can do it with every type of hair even with afrohair . there are many videos about it on youtube just type "japanese hair straightening" and you will see videos with thick hair and curly hair :)
s this something that would work on my male africa america afro love flat lron my hair once in wild will its work for me take long time lol can u tell me conmment here or email Peterjean59@aol.com and tell if it will work on my hair was think of geting it im plan to get soon
thanksss so much for posting this it reallly helped alot. i think i have the same hair tyoe as you, mines very thick all my hairdressers tell me that, and its very poofy. i have to use a flat iron every single day and its really hard to work with. the only thing is, my hair is already pretty damaged from flight ironing it so much, and im trying to grow it out, do u think a perm would be the best thing for me?
this is a tip for anyone who wants permanent straightning if you are african american dont do this stuff if you are a negro dont do this stuff i m not letting anyone down or something but dont do it cuz you will be bald you will lose your hair so dont do it if it is not neccerry
Hi, my hair is at the middle of my back, and it's really curly AND frizzy. If I do the permanent straightening, will I need to straighten it or anything? Because it's really bothering, I staright it then it gets curly and frizzy. Will it go curly, or really staright? I'm really unsure about it and i'm scared to try ...
Do you think the original texture of the hair (thick/fine) is a big contributor to how the straight perm turns out? I want to get this done but I have fine hair and I was worried it would damage it more. I don't know if you know the answer given that you had this done on thick hair but it's worth a try... :P
@rainbottes I do think my hair texture is the reason why it could sustain a lot of damages. If you have very fine hair, I wouldn't recommend you to do it. Not because of the damages, but your hair will be very flat after the straightening, unless that's what you want.
i'm not sure whether i should get my hair chemically straightened or not... i'm 15, but the woman who cuts my hair has already asked me about it a few times. i HATE dealing with my hair- last year i straightened it every day, and i don't want to do that again. my hair is REALLY thick. and a little frizzy. i just got it cut in layers, too, so it looks really weird when it dries naturally. i want to be able to just shower and go! should i do this?
@iheartedward12 I would say yes. Sounds like your hair is very similar to mine. Try the straightening once and you'll definitely know whether it's right for you.
so you basically dont have to do anything to your hair anymore(other than wash it i mean)? because i have to put products in mine then straighten half a dozen times and im so tired of it, id rather jus hop out the shower and go.lol. oh and one more ques. i have thickish hair when its frizzy and curly but when i straighten it, its pretty thin plus my hair takes forever to grow out. should i do this?
@MsChelle92 Once you permanently straighten it, all you have to do is just wash your hair and let it air dry. You don't even need to apply any product. If your hair looks thin after you straighten, you can ask the hairdresser to straighten it more naturally (like not too flat). But you should definitely talk to the hairdresser before committing. =)
my hair is very very frizzy, very very thick, and i have tight spiral curls, you can literally pull them and they bounce back like springs. when i straighten it with a straightening iron its straight but still very poofy and frizzy. im sick of it and i hate it. but i have really healthy hair and im worried that chemically straightening it will damage my hair.
@mcrlove27 Trust me, one permanent straightening does much much less damage if you have to straighten your hair every other day. You can also get deep conditioners to restore your hair quality faster. Like I said, permanent straightening is like a gift for ppl who have thick hair.
OMg why do you have frizzy hair your Asian!!! Lmao but I'm also Asian and I have super frizzy ass nappy ass hair like no lie or exxageration I feel bad because every other Asian has straight hair:(
hey, i am a guy and I got my hair chemically straightened i think either last summer or the summer before that. Before I got it done, I had really thick curly hair. After I got it done I got it cut and I havent really grown it out since. Do you think if I grow my hair out, it will become curly again?
i am 16 im a dude, i want a scene look, my hair is normally very curly but i have never had my hair treated my hair except for some hairgel/spray if that even counts, i use striaghtners but its annoying to do the repeatedly. so i have virgin hair no dye anything will it be bad for my hair or good?
you are so right this is not for people who have thin hair..I have always gave the illusion that my hair is thick and puffy and really nice and now I look like I have a fat head. I should of washed this video before getting it done today I'm very disappointed and now I wish I would have never spent my money :(
Do you suggest I get my hair permanently straightened?--My hair is pretty damaged, not a whole lot because I've been trying to maintain it more. But still pretty dry and damaged. And after I take a shower I try to put a bunch of products to just "repair" it. But I always end up straightening it in the morning. I usually had naturally straight hair but I killed it! D: So do you suggest me permanently straightening it then letting my hair grow out and be HEALTHY again? :D Please reply back!
@tarepandalove78 You can probably talk to a hairdresser and see if your hair is suitable for straightening right now. I have naturally dry hair, but I don't wash my hair everyday, and I never blow dry my hair. So my hair is still pretty dry, but not that damaged. I think you should allow your hair to grow out a little bit because the whole straightening process can be quite damaging.
@echoli Thanks a lot! ;D (that sounded like sarcasm...HAHA...cause I always say that to my friends and stuff...xD, but it wasn't it was a real thanks!)
@tarepandalove78 my hair is frizzy and curly and so i used ghd on it like every day and it decided to get damaged i was doomed its had split ends and it was sooooo dry
wen i went to town the old lady touch my hair and she told me to put egg or yoghurt(cow) on it and so i did
my hair is getting for maintained one more thing dont spend money on hair products cuz it has chemicals itself which harm your hair
@DaJers1994 It depends on how fast your hair grows out. The new hair won't be straight, but the hair that has been treated w/ the straightening solution will remain straight. Mine lasts about 1 yr.
@puppyluv1290 The ends will stay pretty straight. For me, it's more like the roots of the hair that grow out will be frizzy since they weren't treated with anything.
Never tried to wash it the same day.... most likely it will waste all the straightening work..... which is like 150 bucks and sitting still for 5 hours.
i washed my hair after 2 nights because i really couldnt take the oily nasty-ness to work lol. is it still ganna be straight? i would really hate to lose out on 200 bucks because of my impatience ;[
i got a permanent straightnening done 1 n half yrs back for pretty cheap and its still there because i took care of it..i actually want to get rid of it now..!it was not rebonding but simple straightening from wella..my hair is still shiny till now..i think loreal elvive nutri gloss shampoo, conditioner, hair masque and leave in lotion works really well with straightening..i think rebonding or straightening works good only on people with straighter hair on the top..
i just got my hair straitened a few days a go, i finally washed it and i was pretty dissapointed! its really wavy! almost just like it was before :(any thoughts?
if you straighten hair-- then water touches it.. it pretty much gets wavy again. I straighten my hair EVERYDAY - I have large wavy hair and I hate it.
i have treid the chemical straightening before and the results were ok but i did not get it done again becasue some of my frinds said that this treatment may casue the hair to fallout after getting more chemical straightning....is that true , did any one get her hair done more than 3or 4 times or may be more and did your hair fullout or got really damge .please let me know becasue my hair now is half straight and half curly and i dont know what to do ??? thank you
(nevermind my other comment lol) my hair grows SUPER low and its SUPER curly and not too thick or thin at all, and i REALLY REALLY want to just let it dry strait after a shower, and stop spending an hour and a half straitening my hair every time :) SOO based on my hair do u think it would be good??
From what you are describing, it sounds like permanent straightening would definitely benefit you. You should probably do some research or talk to a hairdresser. My hair is extremely frizzy and rough, and a bit curly. I really think permanent straightening is god sent.
ok thank you very much!! yeah i'll definatlly talk to my hairdresser :] im just worried that my har will be totally rough and fried, do you find your hair is?
I talked to my hairdresser and she said it would last for about 6 months, and i will have to straiten it sometimes cuz there might be a few kinks, what do you think about that> lol
I really want to get this done because it takes 30 minutes to straighten my hair even with a Solia, 150 is pretty cheap compared to some of the places I've checked out. I'm just afraid that my hair will fall out because I've heard of a lot of bad things happening to peoples hair after.
You should be able to make an appointment w/ the hairdresser to evaluate whether your hair is suitable for permanent straightening. Unless you have super fine hair, it should be suitable for most people.
I see your hair and I can't believe it's not naturally like that. Do you think you could put up pics of before/after to see the difference between your natural hair and then what it looks like after the straightening process? I know I have very thick, very wavy/frizzy hair. I've been looking into straightening it chemically but I keep thinking that because mine is so thick/frizzy it won't work
obviously when you hair is dry(after the process) it is very straight, but what does it look like when wet, you know, if in a swimming pool or something?
also, what do you do to your hair now that it is done?just a simple wash with shampoo and conditioner?
finally, if you kept cutting the bits that grew after the process would your hair still remain straight?
Every time when you wash, it's almost like resetting it back to the state when you just straightened your hair. So it will still be very straight. Just use the shampoo and conditioner that you would normally use, but try to use a deep conditioner every once in a while. So basically whatever length of hair that was treated and straightened at the time will stay straight. If it grows out or if you cut most of those hair, your hair probably won't be as straight.
I'm not so sure, but I would imagine that straightening is more damaging because there's no flat iron involved for curly perm, at least when I got curly hair last time, my hairstylist only used a solution, plastic rollers and applied some heat.
lolz my couzine did that in india and instead of straighting a ceramin stratner they used clothing iron and traight and blow dry about 6 times and apllyed the cream i had to watch it lolz and when they washed her turned brown coz it waz burned and her groth is fast so it was like half black n half brown
Black women do this al the time. Its VERY damaging. Especially if you do it often. Ever wonder why Back girls seem to have shorter hair when its straight?
What kind of texture did your hair have before the chemical straightening? Was it just really thick...or what..? by the way...thanks for this video. :3 I like your lipgloss x) what kind is it?
My hair is naturally very stiff, thick, and curly. W/o straightening, I can't even put my hair down. I think I used Sugar Cosmetics Shellac Lip gloss in Acrylic.
I can't live without hair straightening LOL! I get my hair done abt every 4-5 months for the past 5-6 years becoz my hair grows really fast, and the regrowth (the kinky roots :P) is not a pretty sight. And I totally agree-this is damaging, but it's way better than flat-ironing my hair everyday!
P.S. Just check that your stylist does not use dangerous FORMALDYHYDE-based chemicals!!!
i got it 2 times in my life haha. but korean people call it "magic perms." but yeah, it is damaging so you shouldn't do it too often. but the same goes for using cheap shampoo and conditioner. it makes your hair appear healthy and shiny when it's really not. im going to switch over to professional products... well at least the conditioners since both are pretty pricey. deep condition, ladies!
For people who are wondering, it's honestly not that damaging at all. It sure beats using products/heat tools every single day on your hair. My hair looks perfectly fine and I've been getting it done for about 3 years now.
If you live in New York, Hair Village in Woodside, Queens is the BEST place to go. It's $150 and up and I would never go anywhere else.
thanks for the vid..very informative..can you tell where u got yours done..$150 seems to be a good deal..also when u go for your 2nd time do you just get touch up or get your entire hair done again?
wow this was a really great video you explained the process really well :) this was very helpful because i might get my hair permently straightened because i have curly hair and it just takes too much time 2 straighten my hair and mostly because i am lazy lol :)
mine was suuuper super think lol &i got mine done in the philippines. it only lasted like 6 months rather than a year though cuz my hair grows fast. the whole thing took like 6 hours or something idr lol
when i got it done 1 n half years ago,i hardly slept for 4 days..haha!i woke up every after 1 hour to check it again!my stylist told me to wash it after 3 days but i did it after 4 days and till now my hair is straight..the tip can be to get it done in holidays or weekend!
So basically its a perm that makes your hair instead of curly. I've heard that the chemical straightening is really bad for you. I would stick to the Brazilian Keratin treatment. It straightens your hair and actually makes it shinier and softer, as well as healthier. I got it done once, and the results were amazing.
I suggest getting it done at a "trainy hair school" because its only about $40 there!~

Questions: 1) can u sweat? If no, what if the weather is really hot and u start sweating.. Will your hair be frizzy?
2) how do u sleep after the treatment? Because when I sleep, my hair will get messy all the time...
3) can u cut your hair? Will it be straight still or it will be wavy again...
aynsachek 1 month ago
@aynsachek 1) Yes I sweat especially when I get my hair done during the summer. Your hair will stay straight. It's gross, but just have to deal with it. 2) When I lay down, I flip my hair all up on the pillow. But I don't think it's critical since I toss and turn throughout the night and it doesn't seem to alter the results. 3) Yes, you can cut your hair. Whichever part of hair that was chemically treated will stay straight.

if you straighten hair-- then water touches it.. it pretty much gets wavy again. I straighten my hair EVERYDAY - I have large wavy hair and I hate it.

i have treid the chemical straightening before and the results were ok but i did not get it done again becasue some of my frinds said that this treatment may casue the hair to fallout after getting more chemical straightning....is that true , did any one get her hair done more than 3or 4 times or may be more and did your hair fullout or got really damge .please let me know becasue my hair now is half straight and half curly and i dont know what to do ??? thank you

The process is just like a relaxer for black people hair.. if we want to go natural you have to cut your relaxed hair off.. :(
AngelicAcid453 2 years ago
i've done it 3 times actually. and my hair doesn't fall out.. or at least not a lot.
Cecilia149 2 years ago 5
my hair falls out with normal straightening over time anyways [: just a lil bit.

i've had mine done twice, both times they lasted a few months. I only waited a day to wash it an all :)
roxaay1 2 years ago
my hair is thick and very curly...i spent lots of money on chemical straightening and it only held for 2 days! :( maybe it was just where i went...
TheReturnOfKoneko 2 years ago
did you wait a few days to wash it?
tokiohotelroxyoursox 2 years ago
yea, i waited 2 or 3 days, then the day i washed it, my hair was curly again.
TheReturnOfKoneko 2 years ago
ugh that really sucks! di dyou ask your hairdresser or get it done again?
tokiohotelroxyoursox 2 years ago
no, i was only like 11, i didnt know i could get it re-done. haha
TheReturnOfKoneko 2 years ago
another question lol i was ust wondering, dont asians usually have naturally strait hair?? just wondering, thanks
tokiohotelroxyoursox 2 years ago
(nevermind my other comment lol) my hair grows SUPER low and its SUPER curly and not too thick or thin at all, and i REALLY REALLY want to just let it dry strait after a shower, and stop spending an hour and a half straitening my hair every time :) SOO based on my hair do u think it would be good??
tokiohotelroxyoursox 2 years ago
From what you are describing, it sounds like permanent straightening would definitely benefit you. You should probably do some research or talk to a hairdresser. My hair is extremely frizzy and rough, and a bit curly. I really think permanent straightening is god sent.
echoli 2 years ago
ok thank you very much!! yeah i'll definatlly talk to my hairdresser :] im just worried that my har will be totally rough and fried, do you find your hair is?
tokiohotelroxyoursox 2 years ago
I talked to my hairdresser and she said it would last for about 6 months, and i will have to straiten it sometimes cuz there might be a few kinks, what do you think about that> lol
tokiohotelroxyoursox 2 years ago
I really want to get this done because it takes 30 minutes to straighten my hair even with a Solia, 150 is pretty cheap compared to some of the places I've checked out. I'm just afraid that my hair will fall out because I've heard of a lot of bad things happening to peoples hair after.
razzlebdazzle 2 years ago
You should be able to make an appointment w/ the hairdresser to evaluate whether your hair is suitable for permanent straightening. Unless you have super fine hair, it should be suitable for most people.
echoli 2 years ago
I see your hair and I can't believe it's not naturally like that. Do you think you could put up pics of before/after to see the difference between your natural hair and then what it looks like after the straightening process? I know I have very thick, very wavy/frizzy hair. I've been looking into straightening it chemically but I keep thinking that because mine is so thick/frizzy it won't work
Jinkun2702 2 years ago
I will try to post some pictures on my blog. =)

obviously when you hair is dry(after the process) it is very straight, but what does it look like when wet, you know, if in a swimming pool or something?
also, what do you do to your hair now that it is done?just a simple wash with shampoo and conditioner?
finally, if you kept cutting the bits that grew after the process would your hair still remain straight?
thank you.....
OnCall101Villa 2 years ago
Every time when you wash, it's almost like resetting it back to the state when you just straightened your hair. So it will still be very straight. Just use the shampoo and conditioner that you would normally use, but try to use a deep conditioner every once in a while. So basically whatever length of hair that was treated and straightened at the time will stay straight. If it grows out or if you cut most of those hair, your hair probably won't be as straight.

Is the straightening perm any more damaging than a regular curly perm?
Emarie083 2 years ago
I'm not so sure, but I would imagine that straightening is more damaging because there's no flat iron involved for curly perm, at least when I got curly hair last time, my hairstylist only used a solution, plastic rollers and applied some heat.
echoli 2 years ago
lolz my couzine did that in india and instead of straighting a ceramin stratner they used clothing iron and traight and blow dry about 6 times and apllyed the cream i had to watch it lolz and when they washed her turned brown coz it waz burned and her groth is fast so it was like half black n half brown
xluvsanya 2 years ago
Black women do this al the time. Its VERY damaging. Especially if you do it often. Ever wonder why Back girls seem to have shorter hair when its straight?
skye7208 2 years ago
i think much of that is down to extremely poor hair care (e.g., improper styling tools, improper combing, bad products, etc).
regi989 2 years ago
What kind of texture did your hair have before the chemical straightening? Was it just really thick...or what..? by the way...thanks for this video. :3 I like your lipgloss x) what kind is it?
derengrey 2 years ago
My hair is naturally very stiff, thick, and curly. W/o straightening, I can't even put my hair down. I think I used Sugar Cosmetics Shellac Lip gloss in Acrylic.
echoli 2 years ago
I can't live without hair straightening LOL! I get my hair done abt every 4-5 months for the past 5-6 years becoz my hair grows really fast, and the regrowth (the kinky roots :P) is not a pretty sight. And I totally agree-this is damaging, but it's way better than flat-ironing my hair everyday!
P.S. Just check that your stylist does not use dangerous FORMALDYHYDE-based chemicals!!!

its called "magic straight or perm"
ive gotten it many times...it lasts for one year
but i would always leave my hair alone for about a day and i would wash it and it was fine..
2 to 3 days its kind of gross haha~
xbabixlovex 2 years ago
hey thanks for the informative video! & this is sorta random but can you tell me what you're wearing on your lips?
lovestory768 2 years ago
I'm wearing Sugar Cosmetics Shellac Lip gloss in Acrylic.
echoli 2 years ago
i got it 2 times in my life haha. but korean people call it "magic perms." but yeah, it is damaging so you shouldn't do it too often. but the same goes for using cheap shampoo and conditioner. it makes your hair appear healthy and shiny when it's really not. im going to switch over to professional products... well at least the conditioners since both are pretty pricey. deep condition, ladies!
angle021 2 years ago
For people who are wondering, it's honestly not that damaging at all. It sure beats using products/heat tools every single day on your hair. My hair looks perfectly fine and I've been getting it done for about 3 years now.
If you live in New York, Hair Village in Woodside, Queens is the BEST place to go. It's $150 and up and I would never go anywhere else.
Cinnamaniac 2 years ago
thanks for the vid..very informative..can you tell where u got yours done..$150 seems to be a good deal..also when u go for your 2nd time do you just get touch up or get your entire hair done again?
makeupcrazze 2 years ago
wow this was a really great video you explained the process really well :) this was very helpful because i might get my hair permently straightened because i have curly hair and it just takes too much time 2 straighten my hair and mostly because i am lazy lol :)

skyofloveee 2 years ago

How did you sleep in the 2-3 days after the straightening without damaging all the work?
pintobeans77 2 years ago 7
when i got it done 1 n half years ago,i hardly slept for 4 days..haha!i woke up every after 1 hour to check it again!my stylist told me to wash it after 3 days but i did it after 4 days and till now my hair is straight..the tip can be to get it done in holidays or weekend!
cutedoll012 2 years ago
@pintobeans77 I would think you would leave it loose and just pull it all up above ur head.
Yomalex3 1 year ago
So basically its a perm that makes your hair instead of curly. I've heard that the chemical straightening is really bad for you. I would stick to the Brazilian Keratin treatment. It straightens your hair and actually makes it shinier and softer, as well as healthier. I got it done once, and the results were amazing.
BunnyRabbitD 2 years ago
it makes it ridiculously softer and shiny.
but it's secretly kind of unhealthy -____-.
sexylexy912 2 years ago
yea but it's less damaging than straightening your hair everyday....
teenyteena 2 years ago
wow, that sounds like a pretty long process. your hair looks great though!
