I'm looking for a set-up video. Lots of options for someone who has never looked st software like this. I'm using a mixtrack. Everything was fine when I used LE, but I already had Scratch Pro 1.2.7 so installed that. Now my sound is all gritty and slow?!?! Anyone know of a good program set-up video?

For crossfader missing issue...go to Preferences>Output Routing and make sure Mixing Mode is set to Internal

Is there anyway of saving an analyed (asynced) track, so that, when booted up on Traktor on a different PC, it's already synced and recognizes the Cue point etc. ?

Hardly constructive. I own both and will happily say they both have positives. There's some things in VDJ that I wish were in Traktor (videos for one), but Traktor's effects are massively superior to VDJs.

one thing i dont like is the yellow horizontal waveforms . serato has the dopest waveforms full of color and they run vertically up together which makes so much sense ... i do like the loop and cue points better in traktor tho ... just my opinion....

Just my opinion, but the colored waveforms on Serato look cheesy. The whole display seems kind of "kiddish". I prefer the detail on Traktor's waveforms waayyy more. But that's just me.

yeah fair enough ... so a straight yellow waveform is more detailed then a 3d full color spectrum ?? plus have u heard of the ableton - serato hybrid called 'the bridge" now come on m8 build a bridge and get over the fact serato burns traktor .

great tutorials! question. I seem to be having the same problem as the guy who is missing his crossfader bar, but my issue is that, although i have my crossfader box ticked, the actual tab to fade from one deck to the other is missing. so its a tabless crossfader bar....sitting there...useless :(. lol any idea?

@101bangla101 Hey buddy, check your options, you might have set the display mode for external mixing, and that means you have a console or a mixpult so the crossfader does not appear. Set full internal mixing option and smth and your fader shall appear.

Yes, you can record your mixes in TP and use a Numark Omni Control as soundcard and MIDI controller

You can go to the Native Insturments webpage and purchase the Traktor Pro -> Traktor Scratch Pro upgrade.

unfortunately you have to purchase the software, since it's the software that activates the scratch functionality. i ran into this problem after purchasing the hardware... The good news is that NI provides an upgrade path for people who have purchased an Audio 4/8 DJ or other "Traktor Scratch Certified Mixer" in the form of the "Traktor Scratch Pro Certified Upgrade." If your missing the cross fader slider button you have traktor selected in hardware mode to use an external mixer.

I edit my tracks in iTunes and add the art as well. I then run the tracks through Mixed In Key and select the option for it to add the key to the "comments" section of the ID3 tag.

Go to the "Personalize" tab, then go to "Write ID3 Tags" ... I select "Store key result and bpm result" and "Overwrite comments" ... makes it really easy to see in Traktor or any other program like iTunes to see the result without renaming all your original file names.

You can download Traktor 3 as a Demo Version for 30 Days.Test it.Some like it, some hate it.If you use Timecode Vinyl or CD,i would prefer Traktor Scratch for Mixing/Club DJ and Serato for Scratch DJ.

I own virtualdj and i've used it for 3 years without problems. It's not so bad program.

It works also for mac(has been translated, but i don't know if it's stable), but consider to buy traktor pro. Basically traktor pro have a more stable midi/audio engine and it can be easily used with all midi controllers (with proper .tsi mapper)
