@HistoMagouri Actually, they really did it that way and most of the toku community knew about it and made there own "puns" for the ShaUTa and PuToTerano combo
@solutionxyz I'm sad though that no one really goes with the official spelling for the names given for the stuff in Kamen Rider really. This is really messed up with the many spellings of the letters.
For example with Super Sentai: who would spell Gokaiger "Goukaiger" when there's no freaking ウ (u). Seriously, there's a ー to show that the Japanese Katakana letter ゴ (go) is pronounced a bit longer than usual.
And anyone who is against this I'll tell you: It was born that way! No reason given!
@bawad01 How is it proper? ー is just used to prolong the pronunciation of Japanese letters. Saying that they're both the same would result in Gokaiger to sound wrong from the way it's said. If we substitued the ー with ウ it would seriously sound wrong, and that's why the spelling "Goukaiger" doesn't really look right and will make the pronunciation sound wrong too. It would also be impossible because ウ is pronounced the same way う is in the alphabet.
@HistoMagouri Regardless of what the Romaji spelling is, ーand ウ are prounounced the same, just as how レ ー and レイ are pronounced the same. It is absolutely true that they are completely different kana (ー isn't really a kana, but let's assume it is) but they do sound the same, like how C and S sometimes sound the same even though they are different letters. Example, "Geisha" is not prounced "Gay-sha" but "Gee-sha", in other words the "i" is nothing but an elongation of "e".
@bawad01 That's enlightening enough for me then, but it still looks so weird when it's spelled Goukaiger though. But judging by the stuff you posted about the details here, I realized that all my life I've mispronounced the word "Geisha". That's just like the time that I found out that I was peeling a banana wrong. Wow.
I guess Goukaiger's the way to go then. Thanks a lot for the clarification, no one was clear when explaining the details.
@HistoMagouri no prob, it took me sometime to figure it out too. The thing is in English they shorten the words to make them look easier and less awkward. Example, Tokyo is actually "Toukyou", but since that's just too long and messy for English, it's just shortened to "Tokyo". Sometimes they use the dashes to show a long vowel like in " Tōkyō", but then again that's only used in educational circles and it isn't common in the "real" world.
You know what I wonder? I wonder why you people waste your lives arguing about how something is frickin spelled. JUST CHOOSE YOUR FAVOURITE AND USE IT
@TheLaoH - there is no write or wrong spelling. rule of thumb in pronouncing something asian - how you hear it is how you write it, how you write it is how it is pronounced. you are just doing fine Laoh. "baka" are the ones who are correcting how we asians do it. nice work BTW your site is my morning coffee
I think I know how to solve this dilemma. You notice how Eiji/Shu has a low voice when he's doing his attacks or grunting?
Well that might be him at 0:36, and Ankh following up. Just a theory since Ankh's actor has a bit of a softer, more smooth "ahn" like voice, weirdly enough.
It's actually TaJaDor, that's the engrish for the Dol. It's taka, kujaku and conDOR, not condol. It's ok, though. I was calling latoratar Ratoratah for weeks, dude.
Well it's officially spelled TaJaDol by Bandai so I call it TaJaDol... and I still call LaToraTah... well LaToraTah cuz I prefer it and well... what the F***'s a Cheetar, I know what I Cheetah is but never heard of a Cheetar. Anyway it's all my preference on how I want to pronounce the names I don't care if I'm right or wrong it's how I got use to saying it... and not bandai or anyone else will change it.
awesome. although i have a hard time distinguishing Shu Watanbe's voice (Hino Eiji) from Ryosuke Miura's (Ankh) i mean they dont sound like their characters...but its still kick ass XD
@TheLaoH if you listen carefully, you hear shu sing the first part of the lyrics, followed by ryosuke. This goes on until the chorus where they both sing
@TheLaoH Well it IS Ahnk's power, so why not have him sing. Actually I think it would of been funny if each Greeed sang with Eiji in their respective Combo song. XD
@TheLaoH Yup yup, I have a very funny feelings when we see Ankh/Ash finally reincarnate itll be an epic rebirth. Though from the way that Ankh looked at that form...it raises questions of does he miss flying..or has he experienced
@TheLaoH In English Dol does better match with All, but the pronunciation is in Japanese, and like with the other combos, their respective themes don't always match up with the combo names. Plus, the last medal is a Condor, not a Condol.
@zeronxepher U have to understand that while TaJaDol is the official spelling, there is no "L" sound in Jap so it is pronounced as TaJaDoru in the show
@hallointhere well thank you for the lesson, i already know how to read and speak japanese. in any case the R and L's are the same so i can run around saying president obama's erection for all i want and japanese will see it one way.
Anyone notice that on TaJaDol's face, that it's just a Red glass covering the eyes, and other details. And that the glass is overing a WHITE detail instead of red
@Goukaired in one making of i saw the suit actor fightwithout the "glas". he had a hole in his helmet for mouth nose and eyes. So i think theycan nowdays put in digitaly. if not then the helmet should work similar to brathing masks ...
This must some how fit in with final form and Tajaspinner. I also found it odd besides the head change the chest unifies to one unlike the other combos
@MaverickHunterX3 Cos its epic, its kinda like Fang joker, when you have like luna joker, the joker part stays the same, but when you have fangjoker, the joker part grows fangs too.-Kamen Rider Double btw
I've also seen official "English" in anime and tokusatsu, like Tekkaman Blade having been written in a scene on an Airlock as "Air Rock", same with Gundam.
Trust me, Over-Time and Midnight Crew (the guys who did Double, OOO's, Kuuga, and Stronger) translate it as TaJaDor.
So, Tajadol here is... a hawk, peacock, and eagle I guess?
GataKiriBa is a Beetle, mantis, and Grasshopper.
RaToRata is a lion, tiger, and cheetah.
So what's that thing in the middle on Shauta?

@CrossedCelt close TaJaDol is Hawk, Peacock, and Condor
