  • Looks a bit like the kid in 'Deliverence'..... better singer though.

  • the video makes me giggle, but both singers are wonderful no matter how ridiculous they look in this video :)

  • @SecretsByTheCreek Why is it funny? People dying due to the fire? the children losing their family? people getting stuck in the fire?

  • Too slow. Othr versions are better

  • @21farenheit Too slow?! it's a sad song, preferably for funeral. It's a shame how people don't appreicate the old classic songs.

  • Good Heavens. This is wonderfull and a favourite of mine.

  • Mr. Miles Kingston is my Brother's Music teacher!!

  • OfficialRug: "Pie Jesu" from Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Requiem". Again, there are many many many Requiems in the world. A Requiem is a funeral mass. There are famous ones written by Mozart, Verdi, Brahms, and Haydn to name just a few.

  • Easily the purest, most perfectly pitched and timed version of this song. It captures the sadness and sense of loss so well.....

  • Written by Andrew Lloyd Webber (1984) in honour of his father who had passed away 2 years earlier. I'm trying to create a music history channel of the best music on earth, so far on 700 playlists including lists for every year since 1900. Thanks to your posting this, I can add it to my 1984 playlist! chuck

  • @chkjns Any possibility to see your playlist? :)

  • This is so beautiful and sad at the same time...

  • This song "Pie Jesu" from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Reqiuem in 1985 reminds me

of Jetter Mars fall in love with Agnes in the episode called "Mars' first love"

came out on Thursday, June 23, 1977.

  • This is for you Papa...may you rest with the angels

  • VERY NICE VOICE...and WARM AS WELL....THERE IS NOTHING TO COMMENT ABOUT IT...divine and angelic voice beautifull!!

  • @dnmcx So true

  • @llangol Better stop using my name

  • @llangol hppt

  • Get chills everytime I hear this song : )

  • hey, i have uploaded a video of myself singing this song, please listen to it and let me know what you think :)

  • That was so sad, and beautiful I cried when the girl started to cry. When Sarah performed live she said that Andrew Lloyd webber wrote and dedicated this piece to victims of terrorism in northern ireland?

  • Beautiful....in any language!!!!

  • flawless perfection

  • Think about earthquake in Japan. Pie Jesu please have mercy on them.

  • Why are people moaning at his eyes? they are beautiful and unqiue eyes.

  • Another young singer that Sarah helped to become a star in his own right. For this alone she deserves respect.

  • Oh wow...That was beautiful! I hope I can nail Sarah's part so I can have that as a solo for my spring choral concert

  • Beautiful song, beautiful lady singer. But that kid, good though his voice is, has really weird eyes.

  • hahahaha i see money in this video

  • This is nice, to be sure. But, check Sissel's version here on YouTube. You will be pleasantly surprised.

  • Perfeito...... simplismente magnifico........

  • Simply beautiful.

  • Para empezar bien el día, ya que se acerca la Natividad del Maestro Ascendido Jesus de Nazareth.

  • gewoonweg perfect!!!!!

  • I have a newfound respect for Sarah Brightman. Anyone who is critical of her flawless performance on this track is either deaf or incredibly jealous!

  • hermoso!

  • I had them play this at my aunt's funeral mass. we all cried. beautiful!

  • ms. brightman is amazing

  • Sorry Sarah h*ters, but this version of Pio Jesu with Sarah singing is by far the most moving of all versions of this song. Even the one by Faure' doesn't come close. Besides, she's the one singing, NOT YOU! I don't see you up there singing it.

  • @ireland1953 I agree, "Pie Jesu Faure" isn't as moving, if anything I think Faure is too fast and doesn't have the real depth as this beautiful song.

  • @SkittlesSarahxx The Faure is absolutely entrancing. Sarah Brightman just doesn't have the balls to make it moving.

  • @ireland1953 pie jesu. not pio jesu

  • I love this version, I think it is brilliant.

  • I love this song so much Absolutely a modern CLASSIC what wonderful singing!

  • this version is WAY better, perfection.

  • Heavenly beautiful voice!

  • I always thought there was a version of this with Brightman and Aled Jones. If there isn't, it's a real shame because Aled Jones was the the greatest treble I've ever heard and I'd love to hear those two together.

  • This is the best video of Sarah singing this song. In an other one I saw of her singing it, she looked like a fish. Honestly.

  • fabulous!

  • @SeleneLilitu I gree

  • I remember buying this vinyl on a college choir trip while we were in salt lake city & traveled back to west texas with it in the mid 80's. I know she's not a classical singer, but I still hold a fond place in my heart for her. I loved this video & stll do I'm sorry people can't be more loving and appreciative of what they see & hear.

  • @EZYCHEESY pity this is the best version

  • @SeleneLilitu Same opinion!!!!

  • in Greece if there was a boy with a voice like that they would cut of his balls so he's voice wold be forever like an angel's

  • @TheEmoFamilymonkeys That's frickin hilarious, who is they and what would they do with his balls? Colorado, USA

  • @creampuffrus Why get at Sara, this better than any other ver sion of this

  • Now that's a lot better! In this version Sarah sings a lot better than in the live, one can really experience the true range and possibilities of her voice when she doesn't do this "o" shaped mouth all the time ^^ It's really good I gotta say ^^

  • its like im listening to angels

  • I love this song :)

  • i listen to this song whenever i need a peace of mind. simply divine!

  • Great music and voices, but what a stupid video to go along with it. Made me laugh.

In addition, that kid looks like an alien @ 3:52

  • @porkyfry young teens often have an awkwardness about them. But they're really very sensitive. It's unfortunate if people say things like that about them as it can really scar them. He has a truly extraordinary voice, though.

  • The very best version of an epic masterpiece. Music when it's at it's best...

  • This is good, stop picking faults.

  • music video??

  • music video???? from what, was not made for this...has to be a movie..

  • @2XSANTA everything in here was made for this.

  • Wow, recording a video for this was a terrible idea. lol! Glad to find the proper version tho.

  • Miles Kingston has week treble voice and has the personality of a shrimp in this. Woman not much better.

  • just noticed at 3.22 the boy there looks just like my ex-bf ;)

  • this must be a one of wonder of this song, been checking out a lot of live clips with SB doing this song, and this is by far my favourite

  • She is the only one that can sing this. Their voices compliment each other the tempo is perfect so is their pitch.

  • @arletteg Sarah and the Kid's vocals are the only way this song works... It was the second time I heard this version that it started to haunt me. It's one of the rare songs that is written for a specific vocality that they have, and any other variation wouldn't work.

  • what movie is playing in this??????????

  • It's not from movie, just a music video.

  • I get chills every time i hear her sing this song. Also When the chorus joins together.

  • I do not know why I don't like Sarah Brightman. She's a good singer but she tends to overact when she's singing.

  • Comment removed

  • Fantastic thank you for posting

  • finally!

A version of the song where shes not just constantly sliding!

  • wow, paul miles kingston was only 10 years old in this video.

  • Maravillosos impresionante que maravilla

  • This is beautiful! Back when Sarah sang well!

  • This is so beautiful. I am astounded at all of the beauty on the planet. I am glad I am not sleeping anymore.......

    Much Love to All,

    Cindy Rose Boyd

  • Hahah, I sang this for Honor Choir(: It was a completely different version and I like mine better, but I guess if I sung this one, not that I could i'm an alto, haha, but this is very beautiful(:

  • If I were to hear her sing this song on the radio, I'd turn it off. She is so flat!

  • Flat? The song was written FOR HER by her husband. She originated it and is singing it exactly the way it is meant to be sung.

  • @solace11201 I agree with you. i think the person who said she was flat is jealous and or tone deaf.

  • @solace11201 Actually, this piece was written by John Rutter and is from his Requiem. You're probably speaking of Andrew Lloyd Webber, whom she married in 1984, but they are now divorced.

  • @ToniOboe This is from ALW requiem

  • @ToniOboe This piece is by Andrew Lloyd Webber and from HIS Requiem, not John Rutter's and is one of Sir Webber's masterpieces.

  • @solace11201 Err.. no it wasn't. It was for the play Requiem. Yeah she was married to Andrew Lloyd Webber, but this song isn't even about love. She didn't do well on this song at all.

  • @beckasha83 The Requiem is not a play, it is Andrew's one serious piece of music yet. And Sarah did wonderfully on this piece.

  • @solace11201 you could not of said that any better thumbs up

  • @solace11201 why should a comment be 'Approved', no swearing, can only be for politics

  • @THSChoir you are tone deaf then if you think she is flat. can you do better? If so then upload it

  • i'm with u. i can probably decipher a tone deaf person from three countries away.... my chorus is full of them.

  • God, her hair and eyes are suffering in that wind!!!

    XDDD

  • En pocas palabras: hermosa, muy hermosa!!!..

  • I've just watched one of the latest Sarah's performances of this song.

That one is much better. Now, she uses to much 'vibrato' and here face is funny :D

  • OMG, the kid sings fabilous!

  • *Sigh* her younger voice is so much better than her older one...I prefer the clarity....

  • i agree

  • A lot of people don't seem to have that much respect for Sarah Brightman as a 'serious' singer. But I've not heared a better version of this sublime song than the SB/PMK version in the last 20 years despite all kinds of artists trying to produce one.

  • I absolutely agree!! I've watched/listened to videos and recordings of this for 20 years....no one touches this version in it's beauty and emotional paydirt. Sarah performs it as sweetly as could possibly be. The scenes, the chorus and the boy singing with Sarah bring together a perfect rendition I doubt will ever be matched in it's simple glorious beauty.

  • @AKAKArnott

i'm new to opera. why haven't people respected her?

  • @89cosmo Not everyone has good taste like us:)

  • @AKAKArnott don't think anyone could make it better, I remember it's first performance, writen by her hussband.

  • @llangol so do I

  • @llangol hppt

  • This piece evokes such sadness and hope at the same time. Sarah's voice in this is beautiful.

  • So beautiful. Among the finest things ALW has ever written.

  • I love this song!!!!:P

    Wooo...first comment!!!:D
