It's a very honest comment about Steve jobs, an epiphany - very good and shows respect of one of America's most amazing inventors.
Some anti-globalisation folks are so pious and yet dumb as sand about real lived experience (i.e. one's own, not some imagined Chinese slave worker)... and then there are people who are using their constitutional right to just be morons.
Why do people feel that it's necessary to comment on this video about how Jay is uninformed. He's simply honoring the death of a human being. If you don't understand respect, go ahead and comment all you want.
steve jobs didn't make a single ipod, a lot of chinese kids did. sorry, jay, but you are NOT a part of the 99%.
To get an idea of the real reason why Apple has succeeded... the second article reported on a spate of suicides in some Chinese sweatshops that was drawing attention to working conditions there. The Taiwanese owner of the sweatshops, Foxconn, was a contractor for numerous tech companies: Sony, Nokia, Dell, Hewlett Packard... and Apple.
yeah RIP Steve Jobs, amazing mind. Amazing. but don't forget about the millions of slave workers in Apple sweat shops in China. And the many who killed themselves because of horrific work conditions. Did he donate a cent to charity? nope... Madness. Absolute madness. Come on people.
To those who state that Steve Jobs didn't change the world, he did very much so. He changed technology forever. He advanced technology. He also made touch screens affordable and easily accessible to everyone. He made it so those with talent can rise to fame on iTunes. He was an inventor. Do you think when Adam Osborne died, people said "Who cares?! All he did was invent the laptop." I think it's safe to say that laptops changed the world. And so did Apple products. Think before you comment.
Jay, choked me up to, the same way and for the same reasons. For decades, Apple computers have been a major portion of my making a living, both with computers and music. Thanks for saying so.
@Melimeverinde You're showing ignorance. He DID change the world, starting decades back, when he was in his 20's, with the first Apple and Mac computers. Not only do Apple products improve our lives, but they push an otherwise static PC market to greater performance standards. So yeah, he HAS changed the world... and some of us are extremely grateful for that.
@MammalAnonymous I know they say not to feed trolls, but I can't help but give you a bite. Jay is thanking a VISIONARY for helping him become famous out of the goodness of his heart. Besides being a fantastically inspiring individual, Jay has provided me and many others with emotional relief through his songs and acting. Not to mention, he's the most gorgeous guy I've ever seen, and I would give my last breath to meet him just once. Don't hate on a man who has made great strides from the place
apple would be nothing without plentiful supply of cheap hydrocarbon energy in the form of oil ... move away from technology and get an allotment - grow your own food to avoid starvation when the shopping malls run out of food...
Sooooo, what your trying to say is, thanks for your contributions and my condolences? It sounded like it was on the tip of your tongue the whole time lol.
I understand completely, I gave Steve a string in an art project I'm doing, currently labelled as: October 5 2011: Steve Jobs. Most times a celebrity, most often a film star, passes and I wonder why people are supposed to care? What did they do that made them important? Were their films truly that important in the scope of things?Steve Jobs, creator of Apple did do things that changed the world very visibly.
@theqmogvlogs continued: A crazyperson like myself, an artist of sorts who changed the way we humans interact and experience one another, the man who made the very computer I now type on possible is dead and I for once feel completely justified in my grief for a man who I have never met. His work will inevitably be his road to immortality, I wish the best for his lasting impacts. May his flesh recycle well.
@theqmogvlogs his road to immortality? every aspect of your comments prove you're some psychotic retard. Jobs is dead, that means no immortality, your attempt to apply a poetic meaning to your absolutely fail retard opinion is void. He is not immortal, HE did not make your laptop possible, because it's always been possible since mankind existed, you don't even know what the fuck you're saying. Jobs was not an innovative person, he as not a visionary, and he was not intelligent you idiot.
@theqmogvlogs that worthless (8 billion dollars in his bank account, none of which contributed to progression mankind) asshole is dead, and the world is better as a result.
stop your dick sucking of a corpse you necrophiliac retard bitch.
I feel the same way, i'm a Apple fan.. All MY VIDEOS came from Apple products,,Apple change MY mind about comunications. Thanks Steve Jobs and Thanks Jay TO put it in words. Feel sad for The lost. .
I think a most of us "Techy" type people feel the same way. It's like loosing a brother. And it is weird, most of us never met the man, and he kept his life very private so most of what we know is only about his work or public life. But I think a lesson that should be taken from this is how we truly are all connected. That we are all One. Most people do not realize how our actions (or lack there of) impact the people around us. It's the old water drop in a quiet pond. RIP S.J.
...Pancreatic cancer is the worse...it is painful and metastasis fast...I had Pancreatitis, an inflammation of the pancreas, my brother had it also, and it was terrible....I hope he didn't suffer....if he lived another 10 years the stem cell research would have helped, they are starting to grow some organs like livers and the pancreas...I love my MacBook Pro btw....
Jay, you should totally write a song about this. Like you said, the man who you likely owe your cup of ramen to has died before you could even meet him. I love you (:
So many of us have been influenced by that man and he truly was a visionary with remarkable intuition of today's technology. He had influenced so many of us to be more than we were with a dream of a great future we can have before us. A future that didn't seem to exist before he came along.
