  • need more speed,,,

  • El mejor es el baterista

  • sounds great

  • too slow :/

  • Nice job on a great tune. You can't go wrong with any Ventures works. You guys are good!

  • @BCRification thank you!! We actually recorded that right after learning it - so we play it much faster now. And yes - the Ventures rule - and have given us and thousands of others lots of great ideas and inspiration (and material to copy!)

  • @BCRification Except it's not a Ventures work. The Lively Ones did it originally off the "Surfrider" LP Jim Masoner played lead in the group. Early 60's release.

  • @cotatijsk I thought Nokie Edwards wrote it.....OK, I stand corrected

  • Awesome Job Guys!! Nokie Edwards sure can write some awesome stuff. THE VENTURES are my all time favorite band in history!! 5 stars

    A+A+A+A+A+A+

  • Wow - thanks much V-agogo! We love the Ventures also - and although we can't hold a candle to them in terms of sound - they sure have influenced us. Thanks! Rob from StratlGeezer - oh FYI - the background video is from "The Endless Summer" - from around '64.

  • Nice..

  • A nice cover.

  • One of the "funkiest" surf balads ever. Jan & Dean and The Beach Boys never produced a sound close to this. Your rendition was second to none. It's only 5 stars because they don't give more. Please...continue.

  • Thanks much Michlemania! I wish we could get as many gigs as the Beach Boys! Totally appreciate the kind words - Rob from StratoGeezer

  • It's very very good!!!!!!

  • awesome cover

  • Thanks much my friend! I love this song - it's one of the best songs of the surf genre.

  • what bass is that?

  • Looks like a vintage Fender Jazz bass.

  • ya but i kind of wanted a more describtive answer :/ like a year and colors/ any modifications

  • You can still hear this song played live...for free. The original rhythm guitar player, Eddie Day Chiaverini, plays at a small dive bar in the city of Orange every Friday and Saturday night. The bar is called The Fling and it is on Tustin Avenue and 17th Street in the Stater Bros. shopping center!

  • wow! this intro as same as Terang Bulan by Rudy van Dalm (Indonesian) & The Royal Rhythmics (1963). Who's the first use the intro for their song?

  • slow, but not bad you're compensated and it sounds nice

  • Good point - we've since kicked it up in tempo over time. We tend to record right after learning a song...not the best idea because it sounds better over time - but when you have a cool song like this - we get excited.

  • Is that a real Mosrite?

  • Nah - it's one of many knock-off's avaialble today. I did just pick up a "real" Mosrite, however - and play it regularly. Some of the knock-offs are really pretty decent I must say.

  • great bass guitar

  • How come I keep imagining the ending of "Pulp Fiction" as I hear this. Very cool, guys. Surf's up, dudes!

  • Thanks! We recorded this way back when we first learned it - we're a bit faster and tighter on it (on a good day) these days!

  • I like :)

  • More Speed Pls :S

  • Love those drumbeats.

  • nice covered tunes

    from when was the video?

  • We recorded this around late 2003 or early '04. The video in the background is from the '60's surf movie "Endless Summer"

  • Great sound!

  • Thanks - we've got a ton more videos at www.stratogeezer.com - our band's website.
