Nice video. My husband and I are buying an 1882 Victorian home. We're in the process of rennovating it. After we restore it we're going to open it as a Bed and Breakfast.
My grandmother until recently used to be in the real estate business, she also used to renovate Victorian housing in London Ontario. One day we found a late 19th century newspaper between the walls, without my knowledge she threw it right out. I will never forgive her.
@TrandomnesstwO ouch!! gotta watch the papers stuck in the walls they are going to be pretty old after all that used to be the form of insulation they used in the "earlier years".. talk about Recycle and reuse things huh??? quite clever if you think about it, but not a very good thing to fill your walls with --- I can imagine that it would seriously "feed fuel to the fire" for sure! Not very clever in the end!!
There are some gorgeous victorians on the south shore of Ct, depending on the area you'll see either traditional colors such as burgandys, dark greens & beiges or really see colors! How about some Vics trimmed in LIME, Lilac, or Daffodil yellow? You realize that the colors do MATCH in the spring when the flowers are in full bloom ! Homes with widows peaks that were used as a "fire look out" in some of the "old towns" like Guilford, & houses that were actually built as far back as the 1600s!
I assume you mean "widow's walks." A widow's peak is a hairline that comes to a point in the middle of the forehead.
My native Los Angeles has many elegant Victorian homes, most notably on Carroll Avenue whose houses have frequently been used in film and TV productions.
@scotpens lol yes of course that's what I meant ! btw you never know we could have some rather eccentric women with men on their heads walking around looking out for fires,! With the Temps the way it is now, being in the middle of a heat wave-this week we may need some of them around for precaution. In a few short months, all this will be a memory and we will all be shoveling snow again, so I say enjoy the heat while we can & the men on our Widows Peaks too ; ) kidding-thanks & very nice!
wonderful and splendid tours!! the victorian period was just gorgeous! please more tours! more stained glass! victorian stained glass is awsome 5 stars!!
WOW! I think that CARRY BYRUM woman ought to be in more movies !!! SHE was great! I'd buy a Victorian house from her any time. Great Victorian houses in Wheeling, West Virginia!

It doesn't really look like marble at 2:11 however I wouldn't have questioned it unless someone had brought it to my attention.
