This case could've never come this far without a variety of groups assuming guilt immediately and seizing the case for their own agendas. Without the underlying feelings and the overt support of many, this case would've already been thrown out. Some of these players are 19 years old, but it seems like they are being persecuted for something that happened decades and decades ago. The DA actually said that these students must be tried - "the Future of Durham depends on it."
