What nonsence this is completely inaccurte. These Tamils from the North and ewast of the island are completely indigenous to the island and are not immigrants from India. They have lived here from prehistoric times and livd and ruled themselves until European colonisation. The British did bring Tamils from India and they work in the tea estates in the central partsof the island. They now number aroudn 1.5 million and are comppletely different from the indigenous Tamils.

prior to colonising, both sinhalese and tamils lived in harmony. while the main inhabitants sinhalese fought against the british all the time, british used tamils to get thier administration structure place in the island b cos of less knowledge of terrain and culture. tamils enjoyed the privilages given by british and lost when british had to leave. it`s not suprise this happens in current western as well. when party lose it`s election/power the administration has to leave with them.

While I am very happy for Sri Lanka and their victory over terrorists what you say is just not true. The United States supplied weapons and training. Britain and Israel also supplied weapons as did China and Eastern Europe. I'm not taking away from the Sri Lankan victory- but you did not do it all on your own, without any help. That's a myth.

Just to clarify - "We had help" : you mean we bought.

The westerners didn't genuinely "help" but only recently stopped the decades of funding terrorists from tamil diaspora living there. This was happening since 1983, and they just acted after they also got hurt by terrorism in 2001

I'm definitely not saying that that its obligatory to give loans. What I am saying is they threatened to stop this fight against terror by what ever means they can even by threatening and some cases stopping development loans. Used the "development loan" as a bargaining tool.

In fact the very own reason that the government ignored these threats is what gave us this result. And the blame is not at the rest of the world. Hale China, Russia, Pakistan etc. who genuinely helped SL.

Sri Lankan military uses the M9, M16, M4- all American. I agree, most weapons came from China but there are a few US weapons. And it is ashame that the world did not do more to help. But the Sri Lankan attitude that the world was against them in this struggle is just not right. Yes, the UN did some dumb things. I'm not gonna argue. Today should be a joyous day for all of Sri Lanka and I am happy for all of you. It's a beautiful country and I want to visit! :-) Congratulations to Sri Lanka.

Well actually the special force weapons, snipers and secret service(we call PSD) came from US and training for them too. Commander of US pasific fleet visit out JOC often.
