Mitch passed away Saturday July 31, 2010 at the age of 99. What a great, great man! Rest in peace Mitch, and may God Bless your soul for all the joy and happiness you and your gang brought to the world!
I live not too far away from Maxwellton Braes. This is a great rendition of this favourite Scottish song, so too is their rendition of "Auld Lang Syne" - which is sung as as composed by Robert Burns.
@1952410 It was a weekly thing for my family (parents & 7 kids) to sing along with the gang. We sang all the time. We didn't have money or things, but we sure had music! I grew up with all of these songs and now I can share with my grandkids. Thanks for posting this and thanks to all who have remembered Mitch Miller. I have a tear in my eyes remembering Dad, Mom, and this music...
@tgrspal Dear friend, thank you very much for your nice and moving comments. I am happy that my video could awaken your sweet memories. Best regards, Cesar.
Although most of the music performed by Mitch and his gang was faster, livelier songs, in my opinion, it is on the slower, classics like this that they REALLY excel!
Truly magnificent! Thank you for posting this musical masterpiece.
May God bless Mitch Miller and his gang. Gone, but never forgotten.

Yes , rock and roll did defeat him in the end, but he made a good fight to prevent the loss of many fine old tunes. Goodbye Mitch.
