The whole lets all have a go at Americans is getting so old. Everyone does it. Its really boring now. And im Irish. Ed Byrne is way better than Dylan Moran.
@guernican Dont worry im sure there are still comedians who take the piss of of Americans. And I dont care if they deserve ot or not, the whole joke is boring,
@Noeladishi Well, it's all part of the leftist war on America. If they can turn it into a politically correct pussy of a country that does nothing but beg to be fucked, then they will have succeeded.
Haha must say that starbucks is the shit. And I agree with the Americans are nosy thing, two people can be fighting over a sheep in Wales and the next day we are sending in troops. We believe our way is the right way and all opposing ways are wrong. Americans are stupid, especially a majority of the redneck population lol (and I can say that because I'm from Alabama haha). Most people would find this video offensive, but I think it is hilarious. Well done @ElihimChild999 good choice of comedians
that's a thing in the U.S., though. when another american asks you "what you are," you never say, "i'm an american." you say where your grandparents or whoever were from.
As an American, you think I might be angry but its Dylan Moran, not Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Its funny as hell and light hearted not to mention a little drunk... ;)
@wingnutofcoolness how is that different from anywhere else in the world? in saudi arabia you haveclerics on tv explaining you how you should beat your wife and why sorcerers must be executed.
@wingnutofcoolness Exactly the problem here in the UK. Trouble is, fools will always find other fools to follow them. And just as sadly, fools will always call intelligent people foolish.
I want to thank you. I can tell now when people just randomly spout someone's not funny without any reasoning, that generally means they're good comedians. It's how I've run into all the best comedians.
Hahahaha, I'm American (just to establish that) and that was one of the funniest things I've seen in a long, long time. Because quite frankly, a lot of it is true.
With an accent that dreamy, he can practically say anything about Americans and I would still watch. Not to mention he is funny. Man he is gorgeous : )
Please, a British talking about bad empires? Give me a break, this is really ridiculous.
Today America is full with every race in the world. I came to USA about 5 years ago and the only thing I have found is a bunch of opportunities if you want to take them.
Racism, I didn't feel it at all. Well, I lived in California and Texas. States with a lot of "minorities".
Let's face it, the world will not be without an empire. Today USA, tomorrow, could be China. it will always be like that.
@JaytheOstrich - I know. Are you trying to tell me that makes things better? :-) Look, you can rip the S**T out of my country (Maggie Thatcher again?) I have no comeback on that one. She recently said 'When I die I don't want it to be a sad time, I want it to be a celebration!' She has no idea what a celebration some people will have! My basic problem with the US is not individuals, it's oil being sold in dollars and the US abusing its power to ensure that happens so the US doesn't collapse.
@TheMightyYoshu Electing George W Bush wasn't that bad. Everyone makes mistakes, be fair. But he got re-elected. You saw what he did, and yet you still decided that out of the whole population of the US, (and with 20/20 hindsight), there was no better person in the country to run it and to represent you than the eloquent George W Bush. What does that appear to say about the rest of the nation? I did like the rallies, though, people shouting "We want Bush!" And you got something pretty close :-)
I think his assessment of the reason behind why most other nations dislike America is the best I've heard. Our stupid people, really are the most ignorant bastards in the whole world. Almost every other facet of American life is still tolerable by most standards. And whats worse, is that, we proved the stereotype true when we elected George W. Bush as president and he then waved around his stupidity for the whole world to see lol *facepalm*
90% of US citizens (aka Merkins) don't have a passport if I understand things correctly (I did get that off the interweb, so don't quote me). They don't understand why many other people in the world have a problem with what they are doing. If the US spent their defence budget from the end of WW2 on helping the rest of the world, then it would be the equivalent of £1m a day for 56,000 years. And we would love them. But we don't.
@gzornenplat yeah, but if we spent all that money helping everyone else out the only things we would have to show for it would be peace on earth and good will towards man...and who the hell wants to be friends with you bastards?! (that was sarcasm for those of you who couldn't tell where my logic was in that statement)
So very funny!! My 11 year old daughter was telling a story from school the other day that started "And there was this guy, and he was like -- in my grade and he was like 'hello' . . ." I did stop her and make her restart the story without the ridiculous introduction -- but how true this is:-) So funny.
If Moran had actually named the person who witnessed a shoot-out and reacted that way, that would have been slander, since no one actually reacts that way. I choose not to live in the U.S., but this was as vulgar and mean-spirited as the "Freedom Fries" and the "surrender monkeys." (That, and I've definitely got more than a few words about the number of cretins I've encountered in Ireland--and about how stupid they sound.)
I'm American, and I do find this funny..... because sadly a lot of it is true. There are a lot of morons in the US. But you can find idiots anywhere. We're just very pushy, in your face idiots. xD
@porridge4 Excuse me? How am I "gay?" Because of this. Do not use gay as an insult, for it is not. Please eleborate and use proper English so I may understand you.
No, I am not Irish, frankly I do not have any desire to be. Recently I've been hearing a lot on how they are quite racist. But I have never been one for believing stereotypes.
And I just hate it when some semi-literate, clueless bitch-ass punk troll suddenly decides anyone gives a fucking rat's ass about his whining and bitching and moaning online, like the worthless piece of shit trash troll he really it. You're not funny, you're not smart, and you're not even fucking smart enough to be a troll, you clueless piece of lowlife garbage! That's it - now go fuck a dog and be happy with your minimum wage, OK, punk clown?
@pistachioguy Well then maybe you should buy a sense of humor? Or at least some apathy. It might be pricey, but I understand that you're a very rich, successful business man whom everyone on YouTube is very impressed with.
@dlewis1498 - Why buy something I already possess in abundant measure? Still if it makes you feel better, I shall act on your sage online advice. The words of a bankrupt online troll do in fact, carry some weight even with the rich and well-off like me!
I hope you can feel better about yourself now! LOL!
And still, none of it has anything to do with the video...YouTube comments sections, dang. But, like, you still got successfully trolled. That's all I'm tryin' to say. That's my take home message here.
@pistachioguy You know, I've been meaning to ask about that, and we're way off the topic of "Dylan Moran on Americans" anyway. When did I troll anybody? You know, I don't even know what trolling means anymore. At this point, is it just someone saying something someone else doesn't like? I'm not trying to argue with you on this one; I'm just actually not 100% sure. I'd say I'm about 35%, tops.
@dlewis1498 - Gee, read back to your first comment "Dawg...you just got successfully trolled".
How did you intend that to be interpreted, then? LOL!
Now it is getting more and more desperate from your end:
You: Oh, please, please, PLEASE admit you got trolled! Please? Pretty please? Pretty please with a cherry on top? My entire sense of self-esteem and personal validation depends on you admitting you got right trolled!
Me: Uh-huh. (LOL!)
Keep playing, weak clown - I'm destroying you online
@pistachioguy Dawg, I was just tryin' to point out that you were takin' things a little serious. And on the comments section of a stand up comedy special. You do realize that we are not battling right now, right? My niece came up to me once and told me that she just won the race we had. I wasn't aware of the race. It was a little cuter when she did it, man...
@dlewis1498 - Ahem, "Dawg", I can almost guarantee you, your niece is smarter than you, and will probably make more money than you after she's all grown up. She'll probably talk and write online a lot less than you as well.
Tell me, how's your career as a professional troll working out, then? Keeps coming back for more punishment! Just won't learn. LOL!
@pistachioguy Ugh, fine. My career as a professional troll is working out swimmingly, or dreadfully, whichever you want. I, onviously, live under a bridge, which could be either swimming or dreadful depending on how you look at it. I am, afterall, a troll; so it's pretty good for me. Though it might get too swimming if these rains keep up. That would only be if there is a creek under my bridge though. I wouldn't know. I never look away from this computer, as I am a troll, or something?
@dlewis1498 - I'm surprised, given the dire financial straits you find yourself in you haven't committed suicide by now, pro troll! LOL!
I would suggest, you never get married, since it is possible that with a loser like you your unfulfilled wife will sleep around with the first guy she chats with online, or possibly several.
Am I getting your attention now troll - so, why is it you remind me of someone I know, troll, why? LOL!
@dlewis1498 - Oh, you poor sad clueless troll - you wanna play hardball now, do you? Ok, I'm free, got the time - let's play.
You remind me of a sad little junkie I once knew from the UK who came to India with a little over a $150 his mother left him, and ended up losing it all to a street whore in Bombay and coke? You like coke, troll, or maybe ketamine? Now (after his 10th suicide attempt, he's in drug rehab, back in the UK, broken and sad - just like you troll- PENNILESS- LOL!).
@pistachioguy Your kind words tear at my heart strings, PistachioGuy. I want to be honest for a second...I am that sad little junkie from India. My life was in shambles, but it wasn't really the drugs. You see, after my mother died, no one cared about me, one way or another. Your concern has led me to turn my life around. Since your last comment, I went to ITT Tech and now conduct trains, my childhood passion. I also married a woman with no vagina, so, like, I'm safe on that front.
Like I was saying in my last comment, this nice white girl from Pittsburgh who went to Bryn Mawr College in the US was married to a low caste Indian Christian dude. And for what reason, I don't know, we ended up flirting online.
Somehow those emails got around (troll hack?) LOL! - anyways, they almost divorced from that! - poor thing! - now isn't that just sad, troll?
I mean they had three kids and all - and now they don't even know who their dad is? LOL
@pistachioguy Yes, I have an additional confession: I am also that Indian Christian dude. For starters, God bless you for being so open with me. It is again changing my life. My children have come to terms with not knowing who their father is, as your online flirting with my wife could have easily impregnated her. In fact, one online flirt likely impregnated her three times in succession, as the potent manhood waited idly by in the uterus for each baby to be born, at which point it pounced.
@dlewis1498- Troll, you surpass yourself - you actually demonstrate online humor!
Let me elucidate further, since you so plainly wish me to bare all and bare more online to further add to the humiliation and social pariahodd of this poor junkie Brit and the poor girl from Bryn Mawr College Pittsburgh! Great job, you're doing, by the way!
Did you know both suffered from a nervous breakdown and almost fainted when things got messy for them.
I mean, I almost feel sad for them troll, almost! LOL
@pistachioguy They almost fainted? Dear God, as I was both of those people, I know how horrible it was. To be awake, and then to all of the sudden not be awake, the shear agony of it all. In fact, when I was addicted to drugs in Indian, that was why. See, every night, nearly without fail, I would become tired, lay down, and lose consciousness. See, a doctor told me this was totally normal, but I knew it was likely just you trying to get another one over on me. Only answer: 24/7/365 Cocaine.
@dlewis1498 - Glad you see the humor in all this troll - truly, you are a revelation.
I only hope those who have access to my Youtube comments and Inbox besides me, and possibly those who you gain your inputs from can see the humor behind this most interesting dialog we have had and made public.
Gotta go now, getting late where I'm at - please reply, so that it appears under Comments in my Inbox, and can show up at the top once accessed!
@pistachioguy Yes, I only hope everyone can see this dialogue. Likely, some famous celebrity will see and notice how clever and powerful you are. Can you promise me one thing? Don't forget the little people while on our rocket ship to the stars! I will miss you always...
@dlewis1498 - Let's play some more troll - if you thought a junkie Brit losing $150,000 in India to a street whore and ending up suicidal and crazy on the streets of London was bad, wait till you hear THIS! LOL!
A nice white girl from Pittsburgh I once knew married a low caste India Christian convert in the US. Poor thing - couldn't get enough dick from him I guess! LOL!
Aaanyways, her online flirting with me damn near wrecked her marriage - had three kids too - LOL!
i hate when you look at comments on you tube and people are having stupid political arguments- who gives a shite, its just funny enjoy it for that or fuck off! that is all
A rational person always thinks - "What's in it for me?", before doing anything. Self-interest is rational behavior.
Americans don't do this anymore. When you get involved in conflicts (or non-conflicts) that don't concern you, and that no one cares about except you, then it can only lead to one outcome: loss of wealth.
America's credit downgrade is of its own making - Americans interfere in matters that are none of their business, and lose money. Their talk and deeds erode their wealth.
You make it sound as if Every American is its own countries' fault and the cause of many countries hatred toward Americans. That in itself is ignorant. Many Americans such as myself Absolutely hate getting into Foreign affairs that we shouldn't be meddling in.
@icynok - The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Let us wait and watch to see if your deeds match your words. For the time being, of course, the facts on the ground regarding the shabby state of the US's finances speak more persuasively than anything I may say in condemnation of the American mindset.
There is a pattern of clueless interference.
I stand by my words, and neither retract nor resile a word from it.
It is the American youth who will pay the price during this next decade.
Every Generation has had to Pay some sort of price in US history, the American Youth(GenX) will be no different except more clueless than the previous generations, but I do not speak for all of the younger folks in the generation after mine for I am only 24 years old, so i can't speak from Experience from Hardship other than growing up in Poverty and bettering myself to know things more than the average American does today. I think.........and Hope I am one of the many left. :(
@icynok - from your words, you actually sound quite mature and balanced in your views. America does, of course, offer tremendous (and incomparable) opportunities for those such as yourself, I am sure. There are always exceptions (like yourself), but they are few and far between. As a general rule of thumb, I have noticed, that the more clueless and dumb somebody is (whether American or not), the louder and more vociferous their manner. By that measure, I'm sure people like you will do well.
Well thank you for the compliments and I noticed another thing many other countries populace fail to realize when talking about the Stupidity of the American people, and that is that It doesn't take intelligent to be the #1 military power in the world or am I wrong somewhere or does that mean the other countries in question are in reality less intelligent than those they mock (Americans)?
On a Serious note, I think this guy is Hilarious and spot on on some points. :)
@icynok - You raised a VERY good (and important) point. The US Army (and the US law enforcement, justice system, and the rule of law) are responsible and grown-up adults (who act like adults, instead of like immature yakkity-yak garbage trolls) and a happy exception to everything I said before.
The US Armed Forces and law enforcement and the ordinary Jacks and Jills on the streets (the salt of the earth type who made this country once great) are the nation's redemption. They are disciplined.
Just for saying good things about our Military makes me believe your a level-headed good person that obviously doesn't think we are all stupid as the media makes us out to be. :)
@icynok - Facts are facts. Competence, excellence, and worth cannot be argued with, regardless of its source. By the same token, stupidity, incompetence, and trash cannot aspire to greatness and worth, no matter how tall the claim or how loud the protestation.
He's completely right. I was on a boat once. All the Scottish and Irish people were being nice and quiet in the lounge with the shitty film playing. Just sitting there, looking at the screen. Then I sort of jump, because I hear this nasal sound somewhere a few rows back from me near the door, and I look around and there's some geriatric bloke stood there in shorts, a cowboy hat, a polo and some mirror glasses droning in a loud obnoxious voice about the exchange bureau.
After your 9/11, your country and your people have been left broken and bitter, as your feeble outburst demonstrates - and you expect the world to commiserate with you, tolerate you, or break with you and be bitter along with you. Perhaps out of fashion, if nothing else.
@qtzlctl2012 - Listen up, you little insignificant insect. You're too stupid to even be a troll - now why don't you be a good boy, eat your dinner, brush your teeth, go to bed, and wank off to the captain of your high school cheerleading squad under the sheets, while the grown ups deal with the real world! OK? LOL!
@qtzlctl2012 - hooray for Mama jokes - funny from someone stillborn and shat out be his own crack-cocaine $20 streetwhore mom who died after childbirth! LOL!
@qtzlctl2012 hooray for Mama jokes - funny from someone stillborn and shat out be his own crack-cocaine $20 streetwhore mom who died after childbirth! LOL!
Whoever this guy is, he spends too much time in California. I'm as fed up with Brits thinking all Americans talk like dim-witted surfer dudes as much as they (the Brits) are fed up with Americans who think Brits are a gang of rotten-toothed, brainless Cockneys.
He's Irish. So what? You're referring to my comment on British stereotypes? OK, how about a lazy, mush-mouthed, drunken mick? Feel better now? Lord but you people are a bunch of humor-less grouches.
@Koobeful See again with the fuckin stereotypes... i honestly don't know any alcoholics personally and i dont know anyone called Mick? Thats like me saying Americans are just a bunch a fat dumbass cunts who spend half there life in mcdonalds and they only get jokes about penis'. And i have american friends don't get me wrong,so i'm not trying to offened you i'm just saying that some of the most influential people come from ireland, ex. W.B yeats,Seamus Heaney,Michael Collins, Eamon de Valera.
@Koobeful "Lord but you people are a bunch of humor-less grouches."
What? You're the one who didn't find his jokes funny because he generalized Americans. And then you assumed he was British because he had a funny accent. Either you were being very sarcastic, or you're an idiot.
@Koobeful No. I think you assume he is British because of his accent, because you assumed he was British in your first comment. You are an idiot, aren't you.
I've backpacked all over Europe, and can tell the difference between a Brit and an Irish.
Don't waste your energies on these clueless, dumb American retards. They will never get it. Others like me have tried, to no avail - don't expect reason and rationality to work on the American mindset. That generation is long past.
The correct people for the Americans are the Taliban and the Muslim extremists.
The obduracy of the Taliban is matched by, and finds the perfect counterfoil in the insolence of the Americans.
@pistachioguy Well, the US trained the Taliban! I think Koobeful doesn't get that the "surfer dude" speech has spread a lot, and it makes people sound dumb. I've heard enough of it among otherwise intelligent young women in Washington, DC. ("Ohmigod, like, I was SO not about that. It was totally not cool. I mean, dude!") Most Americans don't get to hear international opinions about us, which keeps us in a bubble. It's part of why many Americans are easily manipulated on foreign policy.
@Tracymmo - It is not merely surfer dude talk - the average American has dumbed down considerably over the past 20 years or so. I remember what America was like in the late eighties/early nineties, before I returned in the mid-2000s, and everything has changed. There is an overwhelming attitude of cynicism, self-congratulation, insolence, and glib self-satisfaction that was not there before. Americans were basically good, decent, hard-working, fair and upright people. That generation is gone.
@pistachioguy You remember America from the early 90s? LOL! Doesn't anyone who's old enough to buy beer? I became an activist in the 80s because I hated what Reagan did to our economy, unions, foreign policy, national debt and nuclear policy. Have you forgotten the xenophobia during the Cold War? The way the Suits used it to whip up support for Vietnam? All the good and bad you list were there before. The details have changed, but not the basics. And all countries are bigger than one generation.
You will be happy to learn however, that I am in complete agreement with at least one point you referenced regarding "the basics" not having changed
I can say with confidence that the decline in American intelligence that I earlier ascribed to Americans over 20 years does not apply to American women. That would most likely be because they were rather daft to begin with - the overall feminine tone, in fact, appears to be somewhat muted these days, notwithstanding the odd superannuated banshee.

@gzornenplat I think you can find some doubt about the legalities of that 're-election' if you look.
JaytheOstrich 3 months ago
I think his assessment of the reason behind why most other nations dislike America is the best I've heard. Our stupid people, really are the most ignorant bastards in the whole world. Almost every other facet of American life is still tolerable by most standards. And whats worse, is that, we proved the stereotype true when we elected George W. Bush as president and he then waved around his stupidity for the whole world to see lol *facepalm*

@random0cover0artiste ... please don't call mkf0528 a reject :-(
90% of US citizens (aka Merkins) don't have a passport if I understand things correctly (I did get that off the interweb, so don't quote me). They don't understand why many other people in the world have a problem with what they are doing. If the US spent their defence budget from the end of WW2 on helping the rest of the world, then it would be the equivalent of £1m a day for 56,000 years. And we would love them. But we don't.
gzornenplat 4 months ago

@pistachioguy You know, I've been meaning to ask about that, and we're way off the topic of "Dylan Moran on Americans" anyway. When did I troll anybody? Me: Uh-huh. (LOL!)

@pistachioguy Dawg, I was just tryin' to point out that you were takin' things a little serious. And on the comments section of a stand up comedy special. You do realize that we are not battling right now, right? My niece came up to me once and told me that she just won the race we had. I wasn't aware of the race. It was a little cuter when she did it, man...
dlewis1498 5 months ago
@dlewis1498 - Ahem, "Dawg", I can almost guarantee you, your niece is smarter than you, and will probably make more money than you after she's all grown up. She'll probably talk and write online a lot less than you as well.
Tell me, how's your career as a professional troll working out, then? Keeps coming back for more punishment! Just won't learn. LOL!
pistachioguy 5 months ago
@pistachioguy Ugh, fine. My career as a professional troll is working out swimmingly, or dreadfully, whichever you want. I, onviously, live under a bridge, which could be either swimming or dreadful depending on how you look at it. I am, afterall, a troll; so it's pretty good for me. Though it might get too swimming if these rains keep up. That would only be if there is a creek under my bridge though. I wouldn't know. I never look away from this computer, as I am a troll, or something?

pistachioguy 5 months ago
@dlewis1498 - Oh, you poor sad clueless troll - you wanna play hardball now, do you? Ok, I'm free, got the time - let's play.
You remind me of a sad little junkie I once knew from the UK who came to India with a little over a $150 his mother left him, and ended up losing it all to a street whore in Bombay and coke? You like coke, troll, or maybe ketamine? Now (after his 10th suicide attempt, he's in drug rehab, back in the UK, broken and sad - just like you troll- PENNILESS- LOL!).
Wanna play?
pistachioguy 5 months ago
@pistachioguy Your kind words tear at my heart strings, PistachioGuy. I want to be honest for a second...I am that sad little junkie from India. My life was in shambles, but it wasn't really the drugs. You see, after my mother died, no one cared about me, one way or another. Your concern has led me to turn my life around. Since your last comment, I went to ITT Tech and now conduct trains, my childhood passion. I also married a woman with no vagina, so, like, I'm safe on that front.
dlewis1498 5 months ago
@dlewis1498 - Oh you, poor poor thing!
LOL
pistachioguy 5 months ago
@pistachioguy Yes, I have an additional confession: I am also that Indian Christian dude. For starters, God bless you for being so open with me. It is again changing my life. My children have come to terms with not knowing who their father is, as your online flirting with my wife could have easily impregnated her. In fact, one online flirt likely impregnated her three times in succession, as the potent manhood waited idly by in the uterus for each baby to be born, at which point it pounced.
dlewis1498 5 months ago
@dlewis1498- Troll, you surpass yourself - you actually demonstrate online humor!
Let me elucidate further, since you so plainly wish me to bare all and bare more online to further add to the humiliation and social pariahodd of this poor junkie Brit and the poor girl from Bryn Mawr College Pittsburgh! Great job, you're doing, by the way!
Did you know both suffered from a nervous breakdown and almost fainted when things got messy for them.
I mean, I almost feel sad for them troll, almost! LOL
pistachioguy 5 months ago
@pistachioguy They almost fainted? Dear God, as I was both of those people, I know how horrible it was. To be awake, and then to all of the sudden not be awake, the shear agony of it all. In fact, when I was addicted to drugs in Indian, that was why. See, every night, nearly without fail, I would become tired, lay down, and lose consciousness. See, a doctor told me this was totally normal, but I knew it was likely just you trying to get another one over on me. Only answer: 24/7/365 Cocaine.
dlewis1498 5 months ago
@dlewis1498 - Glad you see the humor in all this troll - truly, you are a revelation.

LOL!

The US is staring at 5-10 years of economic turmoil. Maybe as many as 12-13 years.
A recession (in the rigorous sense of the term of two successive quarters of reduction in Gross Domestic Product) is almost guaranteed by Mar 2012.
There is a lot of pain ahead for the US over the next decade. It will be much, MUCH worse than 2009, or even the early '80s.
I can only wish it good luck, but I have a feeling that may not be enough.
pistachioguy 6 months ago
Land of the clueless and home of the retarded. LOL!
If you put faith in flimsy people and in their flimsier views, you will get only one thing - LOSS!
That is what has happened to the US.
Why weep and lament now? - you chose to go with undependable, unreliable, yakkity-yak-yak clowns - you are getting what you deserve.
If you choose to associate with insignificant gnats and worms, then be prepared to deal with the consequences.
Why throw a tantrum after your weak bluff has been called? LOL!
pistachioguy 6 months ago
A rational person always thinks - "What's in it for me?", before doing anything. Self-interest is rational behavior.
Americans don't do this anymore. When you get involved in conflicts (or non-conflicts) that don't concern you, and that no one cares about except you, then it can only lead to one outcome: loss of wealth.
America's credit downgrade is of its own making - Americans interfere in matters that are none of their business, and lose money. Their talk and deeds erode their wealth.
pistachioguy 6 months ago
@pistachioguy
You make it sound as if Every American is its own countries' fault and the cause of many countries hatred toward Americans. That in itself is ignorant. Many Americans such as myself Absolutely hate getting into Foreign affairs that we shouldn't be meddling in.
icynok 6 months ago 2
@icynok - The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Let us wait and watch to see if your deeds match your words. For the time being, of course, the facts on the ground regarding the shabby state of the US's finances speak more persuasively than anything I may say in condemnation of the American mindset.
There is a pattern of clueless interference.
I stand by my words, and neither retract nor resile a word from it.
It is the American youth who will pay the price during this next decade.
pistachioguy 6 months ago
@pistachioguy
icynok 6 months ago
@icynok - from your words, you actually sound quite mature and balanced in your views. America does, of course, offer tremendous (and incomparable) opportunities for those such as yourself, I am sure. There are always exceptions (like yourself), but they are few and far between. As a general rule of thumb, I have noticed, that the more clueless and dumb somebody is (whether American or not), the louder and more vociferous their manner. By that measure, I'm sure people like you will do well.
pistachioguy 6 months ago
@pistachioguy
icynok 6 months ago
@icynok - You raised a VERY good (and important) point. The US Army (and the US law enforcement, justice system, and the rule of law) are responsible and grown-up adults (who act like adults, instead of like immature yakkity-yak garbage trolls) and a happy exception to everything I said before.
The US Armed Forces and law enforcement and the ordinary Jacks and Jills on the streets (the salt of the earth type who made this country once great) are the nation's redemption. They are disciplined.
pistachioguy 6 months ago
@pistachioguy
Just for saying good things about our Military makes me believe your a level-headed good person that obviously doesn't think we are all stupid as the media makes us out to be. :)

pistachioguy 6 months ago
He's completely right. I was on a boat once. All the Scottish and Irish people were being nice and quiet in the lounge with the shitty film playing. Just sitting there, looking at the screen. Then I sort of jump, because I hear this nasal sound somewhere a few rows back from me near the door, and I look around and there's some geriatric bloke stood there in shorts, a cowboy hat, a polo and some mirror glasses droning in a loud obnoxious voice about the exchange bureau.

Stefandurrr 4 months ago
@darraghk100 - LOL!
One set of madmen will cancel out the other! LOL!
pistachioguy 8 months ago
@pistachioguy Well, the US trained the Taliban! I think Koobeful doesn't get that the "surfer dude" speech has spread a lot, and it makes people sound dumb. I've heard enough of it among otherwise intelligent young women in Washington, DC. ("Ohmigod, like, I was SO not about that. It was totally not cool. I mean, dude!") Most Americans don't get to hear international opinions about us, which keeps us in a bubble. It's part of why many Americans are easily manipulated on foreign policy.
Tracymmo 8 months ago
@Tracymmo - It is not merely surfer dude talk - the average American has dumbed down considerably over the past 20 years or so. I remember what America was like in the late eighties/early nineties, before I returned in the mid-2000s, and everything has changed. There is an overwhelming attitude of cynicism, self-congratulation, insolence, and glib self-satisfaction that was not there before. Americans were basically good, decent, hard-working, fair and upright people. That generation is gone.
pistachioguy 8 months ago
@pistachioguy You remember America from the early 90s? LOL! Doesn't anyone who's old enough to buy beer? I became an activist in the 80s because I hated what Reagan did to our economy, unions, foreign policy, national debt and nuclear policy. Have you forgotten the xenophobia during the Cold War? The way the Suits used it to whip up support for Vietnam? All the good and bad you list were there before. The details have changed, but not the basics. And all countries are bigger than one generation.
Tracymmo 8 months ago
You will be happy to learn however, that I am in complete agreement with at least one point you referenced regarding "the basics" not having changed
I can say with confidence that the decline in American intelligence that I earlier ascribed to Americans over 20 years does not apply to American women. That would most likely be because they were rather daft to begin with - the overall feminine tone, in fact, appears to be somewhat muted these days, notwithstanding the odd superannuated banshee.
