  • Izilwane, a nonprofit conservation media organization, is totally behind this book!

  • hooray for john gray!

  • @Bookofkills Maybe you should read a book or two or three off the bibliography?

  • bugger should have edited my previous post

  • OK, as for the book, long time since I read it but I seem to remember much that I could not help but agree with much of it but that much of it left me spitting furious disagreement. That said is there anyone else who has listened to this three parter and fervently wished that he'd actually make a point? Everything he says is so qualified as to become at best commonplace and at worst meaningless. "modernity is bad, and good, and also bad but maybe that's good... and bad" I just crave clarity.

  • it is the only book I have read that not only gave me comfort but finally my place is not alone......I read the book word for word as defined individually in its meaning then combined that worded explanation to its context per sentence as this described the intents.

  • That's right, John. We can't go back. Either we make the best of modern resources, or we off ourselves. I'm pretty sure there isn't going to be a middle ground, in the long term. It's going to be terrific, or terrible.

Optimism is hard to come by, when honestly observing the damage we have done. If we DON'T survive this century, it won't be a consequence of technology, but rather of the psychology of a species who aren't able to handle the coming technologies. Good luck to us all.
