  • I do this myself. I freaking love dandelions. They're gifts from mother nature and they can help fix anything in your body. I also eat stinging nettles, milk thistles and many other weeds. I feel great.

  • @faffibo try using greens *spinach usually*, canned coconut milk (I feel that this is a good product) and then stevia drops....it will be creamy and "sweet" but with loads of greens inside....let me know!

  • Finally I see one strange person, just like me, eating weeds :-) People think I am very weird :-) i am not alone anymore

    !!!!!!!!!

  • @OBSysteme scroll down a bit and check the other comments ;)

  • @dolliegrass it depends on where you live (the kind of book you get)...I learned thru books and the internet...then went out and saw the buffet that was always there in front of me.

  • farming level: 99

  • Is there anywhere I can find out the nutritional value of these kinds of raw wild food? I'm looking for foods that can help with my photophobia (light sensitivity).

  • LOL love the contrast of your dandelion picking and the hot dog stands. You really know how to convey an important message. Blessings and love!!!

  • Do little kids ever come up to you and ask what you are doing? Can you steam the greens? Or wilt them?

  • ooooo, im about to hit up my front yard.

  • I would love a screenshot of you picking the dandys with the vendors behind you. A great example of right & wrong, haha.

  • Thanks, The inspiration i needed, For some strange reason a mother load of Dandies are growing right outside my room window, Guess there waiting for me :P

    later.

  • Hi! Do you worry about pesticides? You inspired me to start foraging, but I know that a lot of parks spray the majority of their land, and the rest of it, animals will most likely take care of. I'd really love to forage, though. What do you do?

  • In central park they will put signs up where they sprayed. Its rare though...usually only done for mosquitoes near the bramble (close to the lake...north side).

As for the dogs...I stay off the the paths, but its usually not a problem.

If anything, I should be concerned about the car exhaust settling onto the soil. I was a little close to the road that time...better to get back into the woods.

Head for a state park or a woodlot in the burbs...people only spray if they have to.

  • I found my ideal man! ahhh....gorgeous and with such wisdom! I absolutely love watching your videos!

  • Great video. Have you tried dandelion root tea/cofee? Not too difficult to make and tastes great.

  • I wouldn't say it is meant for us more so we are here because it is there for us. What do you think people ate before industry set in. There was no pizza or twinkies or hot dogs. None of that garbage was around and we did just fine. Animals eat what is around for them and they didn't die out(not that I don't consider us animals because face it we are. If we weren't then we wouldn't look the same inside.) Thx for posting

  • your so weird....your my hero.

  • I loved the food vendors in the background!

  • thank you! setting a nice example in public!

  • i just laughed really hard.

    that was great.

    keep it up A!

  • Hi There A, Do tell, what loverly musique is that playing in the background of your gorgeous dandelion vid? That musical artist is wondrous.

    Thanks & Peace,

    tash

    Dandelions=Awesome

  • It's Spring from the Four Seasons by Vivaldi.

  • gracias :)

  • The central park people have to post a sign if they spray anything (mostly because of child safety issues) so I dont worry too much. And I eat alot of it right away because Im not patient, but I do wash the rest when I get home.

  • Mad...or...Genius? Just kidding.

Yeah, I thought the vendor in the background

would be a good juxtaposition I suppose.

    All those people staring...whatever.

    Anthony

  • lol, very well done. are the flowers good for you as well?

  • I was eating the flowers too....they are sweet. Most herbalists that Ive read advise to eat the whole plant for maximum benefits. Im a fan of the leaves though, and that way we dont kill our friend, the dandelion. Best to just have a few leaves from each one and keep everything alive.

  • aren't u afraid that those dandelions may have been peed on by dogs? i would be...

  • Better dog pee than pesticides. But I dont pick stuff near walking areas where dogs would pee. Best to pick off the beaten path...

  • oh man i wish i was there i would go foraging dandilions with you too, :0) looks fun!!!

  • next time you go - ill tag along - i live in nyc

  • Greens along roadsides can be contaminated with chemicals from car exhaust , so watch out for that as well as plant ID. Cool video though homie! Urban foraging is awesome!

  • Make sure those aren't sprayed with pesticides. It's NYC.

  • I know...I dont want to eat that poison. Central Park is pretty clean though, believe it or not. I wish I could get out to the semi-wilds though upstate. Pretty soon hopefully. Thanks for watching and participating..really appreciate it.
