so basically this guy who obviously works for dell made an account on youtube just to upload an edited video (srsly we know how to count right? we don't need him to remind us with those breaks and well a real test would be with all the drops done consecutively by 2 different guys in real time) of how "Dell is better" I'M NOT SAYING THE PANASONIC TOUGHBOOK IS BETTER, I JUST DON'T TRUST THIS "TEST"
I don't know why people say hard drive faileur, when SSD's are failsafe to dropping, those idiots over at jwa assoc must be idiots by using hard disk drives
This test is an anomaly at best. There are reports starting to surface about massive Hard Drive issues with the XFRs and potentially also heat issues permanently damaging screens.
Dell doesn't even make their rugged laptops. They ship a standard Latitude to a 3rd party who repackages it in an XFR shell. It's like taking an egg & putting it in a "tough" wrapper. Dell is a marketing company and they do not possess the engineering capability to build a rugged laptop. All MIL-STD is not the same
@razgrizraven I don't know about the roughy book but they sprayed the xfr with some heavy duty pressure washers on screen and keyboard and basically all parts of the device and sprayed it with sand and stuff and it survived it perfectly
I think I'm gonna get an xfr and dualboot into osx sl
This is very good to know, I don't think Panasonic's tests were rigorous enough. And they have to be, or they can't expect customers to shell out 2,000 for one. ;-)
the Latitude E6400 XFR is still better but the tough book is still tough you have to relize thats just one of the many features water resistance and other things come in the mix to
I know, I know, for harsh environments... Just DON'T DROP IT!

Mac users seem to have a better grip on their laptops. Never dropped mine.
Why should I? I love it so much.
Would you drop a baby? Never dropped them either. I love them so much...

Unfortunately the Dell XFR never works.
I bought a 10.000 USD version and it hangs up all the time. A waste off time AND money.
Dell XFR sucks, and Dell Norway sucks even more.

Not surprising based on perfornace seen in acualy ruggedannd austere condtions. Dell did a greeat job with this one.

@Ronnie51026 wait i took a second look. hmm...i dk. that would not be hard drive failure though. i know because i had hard drive failure.
Dell0304 1 year ago
@Dell0304 actually it does the screen is the same as a drive failure one in another test I watched
