Besides, I love the Battle Royale(film) but I'm iffy on watching that Hunger Game movie because some of them are just groupies for the movie and actors. Okay, so there are similarities.

But in no possible way did the Hunger Games COPY Battle Royale.

Almost all of the smaller details are completley different.

The big story is the same, 24 tributes, 42 students, one surviver.

But I'm not obsessed with Battle Royale like I am The Hunger Games.

Battle Royale is a great watch, it's pessimistic, surreal, and in your face of human betrayal.

They have a similar sources of inspiration as both authors have sited similar inspirations.

Urbanization, violence, corruption, and self-destruction are everywhere.

I admit Hunger Games seems a lot like BR since that came first and is a CULT classic especially here in the West.

In THG, it's 24 kids, 12 boys and girls, chosen at random from each District based a 'raffle' that adds up as the child ages. In addition, they can enter their names multiple times for a ration of food. The ages range from 12 to 18. There's poor, starving kids to rich, trained kids. They dress them up and parade them around the Capitol as tributes and the whole thing is basically a reality TV show. They train, get sponsors, etc.

In BR, the kids don't know what they are getting into, they know each other and have relationships, they aren't living in starvation, and the program isn't televised live. The fact they knew eachother creates a completely different dynamic.

Besides the fact that a corrupt government in a new world send kids to an 'arena' for a fight to the death with only one winner(kind of) as punishment for some sort of offense is the only similarity between both BR and THG.

@asyarihahaha battle royale ain't just a bloody entertainment film. you have to look past that. u see the plot of hunger games is pretty typical. they select a certain person at a certain district/country. then they train them to kill one another. while in battle royale they kidnap a group of students at a certain school without warning and they force them to kill one another. they may have similar plots but battle royale is much deeper.
