@metahvanainen Yes, the Kinkster is a remarkably sensitive and gentle soul in contrast to his persona of a cigar chomping, cowboy. I love the guy. :) Thanks for the comment!
I bought this LP in North Hollywood back in 1974. Got to see him at the Troubadour not long after. I love this song. He signed the LP cover tonight 12-12-09.
He's great, isn't he? One of a kind. I'm jealous you got to see him tonight. I had to miss his show in NYC because I was out of town to see the Flatlanders in VA. So sad. Hope he comes back soon. And thanks for commenting!
Jimmy Dale Gilmore, Butch Hancock and Joe Ely put on an awesome show. We live 30 miles North of downtown Houston and love our Texas music. Jewford said they had just returned from an East Coast tour. Is this what you're referring to? I remember standing in front of the Filmore East listening to Ten Years After through the crack in the door because I didn't have enough money for admission. Thanks.
Yes, they were in Philly, NYC, VA, and other East Coast venues. I was 'following' them from VA to NY as the Flatlanders were playing the same venues, except for Philly. I was going to see Kinky at BB King, but like I said, went to VA to see the Flatlanders and followed them back to NYC. It was impossible to squeeze Kinky in. I have friends just outside of Houston whom I met on Flatlanders train tour in Canada.. The Fillmore East? I was inside watching the light show to that concert. :)

The album this is on (also called 'Sold American') is one of the best I've ever heard. Every damn song is gold. Swear to G. Love this guy.
