  • the movie tells about destiny

    to some extent my destiny

  • 8 oscars??? a little bit too much in my opinion but still...

  • MY GOD. I just saw this last night... I was moved to the core. Incredible, fabulous, beautiful, epic.

  • @amyleoness Alexandre Dumas pere wrote over 400 historical novels exposing world tyranny(Roman catholic Empire). Alexandre Dumas pere wrote The Man in the Iron mask in 1848 and 'coincidentally' in the same year The Society of Gesu(Jesuits) were expelled from 83 countries and their pope is ARAMIS AND HE IS ALSO KNOWN AS THE COUNT OF MONT CHRISTO(GENERAL OF THE JESUITS).

  • try century

  • FOR SURE YES AND 1 MORE THING LATIKA IS JUST GORGEOUS

  • YESSSSSSSSSSSS

  • i saw tis film 40 times.... stil i didnt get bore.... tis s best film ever i hv seen...

  • @sarath2989 ALEXANDRE DUMAS PERE WAS BORN NEAR PARIS IN 1802 AND 'COINCIDENTALLY' IN 1902 THE SOCIETY OF JESU(JESUITS) WERE EXPELLED FROM FRANCE FOR THE 3RD AND LAST TIME. THE SOCIETY OF JESU(JESUITS) HAVE BEEN EXPELLED FROM 83 COUN TRIES AND THEIR POPE IS ARAMIS AND HE IS ALSO KNOWN AS THE COUNT OF MONTE CHRISTO(GENERAL OF THE JESUITS).

  • i lalaLOVE this movie ;) even tough i just watched it yesterday --- it's stilL awesome :DDDD

  • It really warmed my heart

  • This movie is soooooo freaking goo,

Its the best movie I've seen....

  • greatest movie ever made. i've seen it at least 80 times since the day i first watched it (January 11th, 2009) obsession? yes.

  • LOL at people even bringing up Batman as being better. Batman, Joker, Two-Face? Who are these characters I'm hearing of for the first time? Batman saves the city from the Joker? Never would've guessed it.

  • Excellent movie. One of the best ever for sure.

  • No this is an average movie....

  • Quite possibly. ;)

0:16 Uhhhwhat does he mean? It's got Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan! And now Dev Patel and Freida Pinto are big stars too because of it.

  • yes it is!!

  • depends what type of movies your into XD

  • yeah it is

  • I watched this movie 8 times and I still can't get enogh...It's just perfect.

  • @ElmoRlz NO. is a piece of indian crap. I encourage you to watch "the secret in their eyes" Oscar winner of the current year. that is a perfect movie, you still haven´t watch enough.

  • @petrone2006rosario but this film is british, not indian

  • its a real movie !

  • this movie shows alot

  • Yes !!!!!!!!!

  • This movie proves that they're still some hope for genuine scenarii and creativity out there. I am sick and tired of remakes and revivals in theaters.

  • @kamay81 This passage is from The incredible marquis by Herbert Gorman entitled the soldier of fortune(chapter six) It was natural that Dumas believed implicitly in the magic of somnambulism, in animal magnetism and in chiromancy. No Haitian negro dancing before his Voodoo altar was more superstitious than Dumas. Home, to Dumas, therefore, was an authentically inspired adept in communicating with unseen world.

  • @augustmaquet ???

  • Yes it IS!!!

  • amazing!

  • Yes, it is

  • what ever the movie was good or bad, but i must say that the music was very very good and i loved it.

  • YES i loved that movie!!!! It deserved every award it got nominated for!!

  • I love the movie too!!!!!

  • It was at most, a forgettable movie that was just left me unaffected after seeing it but then all the praise came and I started to scrutineze it and realized it was just a bad movie except for the acting.

  • i actualy thought the acting was bad. the old latika can not act worth to cents the young kids were great and the editing was very good but they didnt develop the charectors well enough to make me care

  • yes i agree with all of you that the visual effects were very strong which just hide the acting or story flaws and there were alot of exagerations i must say because in real life this is not the situation.

  • not just that, it's one of the best movies I ever saw

  • best movie of the decade!

  • I'm guessing you only watched one movie in the past 10 years but seriously, what made it the "best" for you?

  • the realisim of the characters and the situations in india and in the slums. how everyone is fucked up. ive been there. that place is no joke. they make the projects in the s.s of chicago look like a 5 star hotel.

  • So if you had been kidnapped, you would have ended up on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire pining for you childhood love to see you. (I'm glad nothing happened to you and hope I wasn't harsh) What I'm really saying is that I didn't believe any of the characters, not even the host, and I'm sure some of the situations have happened (excluding the Amtabh incident) but for them to flow according to game show questions made it to unrealistic to believe. I've seen slum movies and I've seen better

  • Uh I'm pretty sure they expect you to be smart enough to realize that days are passing in his life. I mean I've never actually seen kids age from 6-7 to 13-14 in the few seconds it takes to fall off of a moving train. Have you? And for anybody saying there are holes in the story , if there are any it's minimal. I've watched it quite a few times. Are we adults here who can come to conclusions or does everything have to be drawn out for us in Crayola?

  • I never said anything about the lenght of time in which the incidents happened but how they fell in chronological order. Plus, the entire movie is him recapping his answers on a game show and so there were many potholes along the way, not minimal. I feel sorry that you had watch the movie a couple of times and I am an adult.

  • btw i was 6 years old when i went there. we were warned never to wander off because kids get kidnapped and end up begging on the streets.

  • It´s a great film!

  • Its good but dark knight is still a lot better with acting.

  • absolutely!

  • Dark Knight is a great movie, but it was certainly seen as TOP in the USA but not abroad... Did it win any awards around the world? no at all...

  • i think it matters what genre you like if someone likes this movie or dark knight better

  • ooof course it is

  • Yes! someone who agrees with me.

  • yes, it is. and the novel written by vikas swarup is the best novel i've read..

  • yes, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE is the best movie of the year and I think one of the best movies of all times.

Indeed, ALL the actors were good, but I liked it most the little ones, they are so cute and very talented!!! Love u all, Slumdog actors!!!

  • duh! it was an amazing movie

  • ya!! da best movie of the year!! loved it. so different n s touching!!

  • slumdog millionaire is the best movie.

  • yep definitely

  • yup ! DA BEST MOVIE EVERRR!!

  • real good movie jamal is a good dude since young reminds me of me

  • oh yeah btw that movie was AMAZING!!!

    my 3rd favorite movie ever

    1. Across The Universe

    2. Girl, Interupted

then Slumdog Millionare (idk y u care but still)

    oh yeah btw great movie

  • my heart goes out for the blind child!!!! i felt the pain in this movie.

  • same, i cried so much yet felt so happy when i watched this movie. it was like a mixture.

  • ya it is the best movie.i luved it.awsome

  • The movie is better because it has no stars. You don't go into the movie with preconceived notions. Smart move on Danny Boyle's part.

  • This is for sure the best movie of the year. I'd even say it's one of the best movies EVER!!

  • YESS IT IS!! best movie in a longg time love it :)

  • great movie

  • i loved this movie!! it was absolutely beautiful!

  • SHOULD SLUMDOG MAKE PEOPLE RICH?

    /watch?v=tzecbXQX8Ok

  • Yes this is the best movie of the year

  • touching true

  • This is a truly touching and realistic movie. Trust me, you won''t regret seeing this!! I am really glad it got the best film oscar, it truly deserved to get it. I am really happy for A.R. Rahman too, he is a brilliant composer and he is the real slumdog milionaire, his is the true rags-to-riches story.

  • don't know if it's the best considering I didn't see all the movies come out during 2008.....but trust me it's a really really really really really great movie, you will never be sorry watching this movie. A truly wonderful movie.

  • I don't believe this film is aimed to degrade India or it's people. All countries have poorer areas, and some of the most touching and life-changing films are based on these.

Surely it's better to show people the harsh circumstances that some have to live through rather than to sugar coat everything? It's stories like this that touch the heart, and i don't think it's fair to say that this film was made just to make money, but rather to show life in all it's aspects, regardless of race or class.

  • I would suggest to the people to see the well to do people in india also & contribution of Indians in the whole world.. INDIA, the oldest civilization in the world , the largest democracy in the world, should not be understated & degraded like this. I suggest all Indians to react on this kind of films.

We INDIANS are the ones who are a major contributory to a GDP increase, due to our sheer numbers even though our per capita may be amongst the lowest in the world. We are the wealth creators.

  • wait, i thought china was the oldest civilization?..

  • hope ur misunderstanding is cleared now.

  • ................

    Thank u.....?

  • Iraq was

  • The western nations are jealous of the progress Indians have made in various fields and by giving undue importance to the films like this they are trying to degrade the India.

Tell me where in the world you don't have poverty, or slums...!!! Then why to choose the glorification of Indian Poverty. Films with subjects like these should be banned in India and Indians who make or act in such movies should be blacklisted.

  • Poverty is being sold internationally by prominent personality and the role of poor is being portrayed by a guy who has never experienced poverty in his entire life so how can we expect these people will ever understand the worst and inhuman conditions of poor and downtrodden.

  • After the nomination of Slumdog Millionaire, one thing appears to be very clear that most of the prominent names accross the globe are making big money out of indian poverty.

They are dipicting the poverty in a manner that has nothing to do with real life conditions of poor and downtrodden.

  • Strange. All the Bullshit you're mumbling about is irrelevant. What makes this movie so unbelievable is the notion you will be TORTURED for answering a question on a game show!

  • THIS IS BEST FILM OF THE WORLD

  • you're stupid.

  • LMFAO!!! No there arent!! Some of the slums in Mumbai have 2 million people in them--living in dirt. There are no slums like that in the US. There are projects and there are country people who live in shacks in the mountains and woods in the US...but not 2 million people in one single slum living in absolute poverty. No government to make them go to school, and no child services to call when their parents push them into prostitution.

  • im not really into hindi stuff but this movie is something beyond a crowd-lovin' movie....its an "experience" FEEL IT !!!!!!!!!! FEEL LIFE !!!!!!!!!!!

  • I am Indian, I love my country , and I have seen this movie 5 times and I love this movie to bits.

Its also going to be a great business opportunity for many actors and people from the Indian film industry.

  • Absolutely disgusting movie except for the music and the wonderful child actors.

Danny boyle has exploited poverty for his gains. His movie is extremely insensitive in the way he has shown indians. How can such a movie be a "feel good" film. So thats how the world like its humour! Disgusting...

  • ... He didn't portray all Indians in that way, but there are slums like that there, and if you don't think that any of that is accurate than you my friend are in serious denial

  • Very good movie!

  • Go to greatmovies[DOT]tk to watch this movie and many more for free.

  • the kids who acted in this movie were soo GOOD

  • slumdog is the best movie of this year. Such a feel good movie

  • man.. the movie is amazing n awesome..

  • this movie is AMAZING!!

    LOVED it. :)

  • a shame the 2 little kids who were the backbone of the film did NOTget any accolades or credit in the media.

  • I Agree with you 100%

  • i totally agree

  • the youngest kid who acted as ZAMAL is amazing. Please recognize that kid immediately. It is unfair. The kid who acted as youngest Zamal-- please honour him as a best Child actor. This movie has become beautiful for him.

  • i know, he was adorable too! the actors were all good, but i have to admit that the younger actors were better than the adults.

  • Yes. The slum kids who acted in this movie are the real deal.

The adults are stealing all the glories from these slum kids who made the movie.

Of course. A.R.Rahman also deserves the credit for his music.

  • dude they put those slum kids in a rich private school in mumbai and they also gave them a college fund so yeaaah

  • Forest Gump???.. hmm yep, that is the last time A movie so unique has come around....untill this one.

Despair, sadness, loss, love, joy, and triumph, WOW what a movie. For tis genre it is the best movie to come about since 1994.

  • YES! It is better than Button, or the Nazi Reader or the Wrestler, even Revolutionary Road - it's about life and pure love. THE KIDS IN THIS FILM DESERVE TO COME TO THE OSCARS - THEY MADE THE FILM WHAT IT IS. The adults are good, but the kids were better - THEY MADE THE FILM! BRING THE KIDS 2 OSCARS!

Ayush Mahesh Khedekar played young Jamal and little Lakita and little Samil.

  • no, it is not.

  • Watch this movie and 25,000 more at goodmovies(DOT)tk

  • The dance during the credits was great, and so was the entire movie

  • this is it!!!

  • ABSOLUTELY the BEST!!!!!!

I have seen Slumdog Millionaire 9 times so far.

  • that's sick it's not all that

  • theres a book like this aswell a brilliant read called Q and A but this looks awesome

  • this is DEFINITELY the best movie of the year

  • Dark Knight Best Movie of decade so far

  • almost as good as this movie

  • Dark knight is ok but this one is better

  • no its not lol

  • yah it is

  • This is a good movie, very entertaining and clever but the love story at the core is weak. A boy and a girl meet when they are like 8 and they pass through each others lives briefly over the years. Now who carries a torch for a girl from when he was eight????

  • It happens in India.

  • This is true, and I feel that the concentrated romance at the conclusion of the film made the ending less enjoyable. Although, all in all, still a great movie with great actors. I was particularly pleased with Jamal's younger self's performance (and the other kid actors).

  • ever seen forrest gump?

  • OMG! You're right. It's a rip off of "Gump". I didn't notice it before. The uneducated boy who leads an extraordinary life chasing the girl he meet as a boy told through a clever framing sequence of flashbacks.

I may have to rethink my opinion of this film.

  • so is curious case of benjamin button

  • Amen to that. But "Benjamin Button" wasn't one fifth as entertaining as "Gump". It just pretended to be. "Gran Torino" should have gotten the fifth Best Picture nom.

  • It's not a rip off of anything, that's the idea. Gump was it's own thing. Though it may seem like similar ideas, you could say that about alot of really good movies. Slumdog deserves the reckognition it's gotten. The fact that it wasn't an all American hoora movie made it that much more unique.

  • Oh my GOD, I MUST see this movie! I've wanted to see it since I saw the commercial!

I keep missing chances to see it because my boyfriend and friends always drag me to another movie, but I won't give up. I must see it in theaters! <3 No way in hell am I gonna look for it online. That's disgracing the actors and directors.

  • yeah, i only do that if ive already seen it in theaters, or plan on buying the dvd when it comes out...

  • Slumdog millionaire was highly inspirational and intriguing. I went into to, not knowing anything about it other a supposed kid on the millionaire show. I thought okay....what's so great about that, but when i saw it in its entirety, I was speechless. A truly great film. Hopefully others feel the same.

  • Sorry, I meant to say "supposed poor kid"

  • well said

  • The best film is The Dark Knight!!!

  • the dark knight is movie of the year

  • second best movie of the year. Let The Right One In is the best movie of the year.

  • yeah best movie of the year!

  • fantastic movie. The child actors were awsome!

  • It IS the BEST movie of the Year!

If films like Juno, Sideways and Little Miss Sunshine got nominated for Oscars..then this would easily get nominated too. This film is far way better than these...

  • the kids steal the movie.....they are fun, entertaining

definitely see it if you can

  • daaaaaaaaaaaang i heard so much about this movie.. now i wanna see it sooooooooo bad.. God.. :(.. is it better then the dark night?

  • no u are the stupid one

  • yes almost all viewers will agree

  • it's a really good movie.

  • fight club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I think TDK, this movie, and Gran Torino are the best movies I've seen all year 4/4 stars for me:)

  • Awesome movie! Would see this again.

  • damnn this actually looks pretty good.. wanna see it! :D

  • Benjamin button, slumdog millionaire, frost/Nixon, the dark knight, and the wrestler are my predictions for the Academy's Best Picture nominations

  • That is a great call. ReelzChannel has your back on all of those.

    ReelzChannel

  • I don't think The Dark Knight will get an Oscar nom. Only got one golden globe nomination for Heath Ledger...not a good sign heading towards the oscars. Revolutionary Road will probably get a nom instead.
