Got any tips on getting by those tweesters with the rocks without killing yourself?? I can get 94 of the coins but those tweesters kill me before I can get the last 6. I can run around them just fine, but they kill me when I try to jump in them.

Oh and an easier way to get the coins around 4:15 is just to do one long jump.. you clear both holes pretty easy and grab both coins. I died a couple times trying to spin jump, then decided to try the long jump and it never misses... and its quicker too!

BTW thanks for showing how to get the ones on the Thwomp and where the one above the switch is located... those were the ones I was having trouble with!

That's the one coin that seems to get a lot of people. Remember the technique you used to get it! It's one of the most useful.

You just have to make sure you exit it at a good spot and make a beeline for those few coins.

Er, Crouch than jump?

To "climb" up it, you press against the side, jump, hold back, and than spin to go up and over.

Just like how the video shows, eh?

Easier said than done my friend. At least for this mom who plays the game while her kids are at school. :) I've got 109 stars. It's these jumpers that are keeping me from the rest. Believe me, I have watched this video so many times I should be able to do this jump with my eyes closed but dang....

I'm sorry if my response came off as a little rude. I just didn't know which jump you were asking about. I've had people ask me to how to moves that are covered in the manual before...

As for climbing the Thwomp, think of it as doing three separate techniques:

The Backflip - Get in position, Crouch and face directly right. Execute maneuver.

The Walljump - Hold left, stick to the side, jump.

The Spin- Continue holding left, shake remote and rise over.

Truly, it's just stringing these three in quick succession!

Note that the cameraman is being very thoughtful in keeping the side of the Thwomp directly to the left of Mario. (This means you need only hold left to stick to the side and climb the face!

I believe this is the only spot that you are required to jump up such a sheer edge, so you don't have to dread doing them any more (Although it is an extremely useful technique!).

I can't do it either. I got up by climbing on that tiny ledge to the right of the thwomp, doing a back flip and spinning. You can get on top without doing a walljump+spin

Well, I don't have a surge protector on my TV. We used to have one on our computer, but then it started to make a weird noise whenever we turn it on. We had to dump it.

Surge Protectors though, are a dime a dozen these days (All they do is short out the power strip if a surge comes through, thus saving your equipment)

A lot of people seem to have trouble with that one. The maneuver you had to use to get it is EXTREMELY useful. Spam it as much as possible to get up high cliff faces and to prevent yourself from falling down pits!

I'll tell you all now that when I played Galaxy for the first time through, I had forgotten throughout most of the game that you could spin in midair to get an extra boost. DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH TROUBLE THAT CAUSED ME?! A prime example is getting on top of that thwomp to get purple coins.

The spin is an absolutely crucial move, in my opinion. You have so little control of Mario's inertia once he is airborne, so every bit helps.

The spin allows you to make a last minute adjustment and gives you a little boost! I guess you can think of your not using the move so much as playing the game in hard mode.

I think its either 50 or 60 stars you need to challenge bowser, then once you get 120 stars you fight him all over again.
