NO! There used to be a labour/woking class press in different places in the States and in Europe. It's hard to research this stuff---where to start?? but that doesn't mean we've never had these things.
Perhaps Howard Zinn would be a good place to start to find out about an older working class/labour or proletariat type press.
Our government is the biggest drug dealer of them all. Can you imagine the alliances being forged in Afghanistan for the opium trade routes. Some politicians and military CIA types are getting very rich supplying the American drug trade. The press no longer investigates such activity.
During the Iran hostage crisis HW Bush was in contact with the Iranians and encouraged them NOT to release the hostages until after the 1980 election.They feared that if they were released before it would help Carter and might cost Reagan the election.Maybe why Reagan later sold missles to Iran.
