  • Jack Nicholson in The Shining is not a villain. It's only a man who is possesed by the hotel. Read the fucking book

  • keyser soze?

  • Yes, ALEX from Clockwork Orange is a glaring omission!

  • OH NO! Hannibal Lector? SAURON, FUCKING SAURON, FOR CHRIST'S SAKES? AND BOB FROM FIRE WALK WITH ME IS SCARIER THAN ANY OF THEM! EPIC FAIL! :(

  • The democratic way? Alright, fine. *throws knife into somebody's back* That's my vote. XD

  • hanibal lecter, someone?!

  • Great list. The villains are the best thing of a movie.

  • Drago is not a Villain!!

  • Stansfield ftw!!! Shoulda been higher up on the list, but I'm glad you acknowledged him.

  • I may not agree entirely with you're list but I'm glad Rutger Hauer's John Ryder is on it, Hauer's best role and a really underrated villain.

  • Ivan? really? hes not a villan hes just an enemy.

  • gary oldmans a camper

  • Can not beat martial arts and Ninjitsu!

  • WHERE THE FUCK IS DON VITO CORLEONE???!!!

  • Ivan Drago isn't evil. He's just a proud Russian patriot!

  • Where's Dr. Hannibal Lector?

  • The operative in Serenity.

  • #1: Isn´t it named "Léon"

and #2: Remember Me Eddy? When I Killed Your Brother I Talk... Just... Like... THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS!!!

  • falto el T1000 de Terminator 2, Tong Po en Kickboxing y muchas mas

  • Nice list, very special choices.

  • I'm a bit upset this list is missing Anton and Lector, but other than that, it's a pretty interesting list. I'm going to assume your a big action fan?

  • joker is number 1

  • Sylar from heroes has killed way more people

  • Anton Chigurh - no country for old men

  • The music in Leon is EPIC.Eric Sierra ;) Made the music for the 5th Element :)

  • Excuse me, but where is Malcolm McDowell in "A Clockwork Orange"? Where is Jack Nicholson in "The Shining"? Where's Anthony Hopkins in "The Silence of the Lambs"?

I could name so many others. This list is severely lacking.

  • Your list sucks balls

  • Good list, I specially appreciate the fact that you put Stansfield and Clarence Boddicker in there....cheers!

  • this is a good list wish people didnt get all butt hurt over it

  • No Hannibal Lector, but Dolph Lundgren twice, list is bogus

  • I love these top 10 lists that pretend there were maybe three movies made before the 1980s...

No "El Indio" played by Gian Maria Volonté in "For A Few Dollars More"???

or Ramón Rojo played again by Volonté in "A Fistful of Dollars"???

    Disgusting!

  • @EmptyBottleTherapies I love old movies, and I love "The Man With No Name" series from Clint, but neither of those tow should be in a top 50 list imo. Neither should most of this guy's list either, but still.

  • No Anthony Hopkins from Silence of the Lambs, no Heath Ledger from The Dark Knight, no Jack Nicholson from The Shining, no Kathy Bates from Misery, no acotr who escapes my name currently but played Billy the Butcher in No Country For Old Men, no *spoiler alert* Kevin Spacey from The Usual Suspects=not a good list. i know I left out other legendary performances, but those were the most egregious exclusions imo.

  • @bigbaltimore08 Also no Malcolm McDowell from A Clockwork Orange, No Robert Englund from A Nightmare On Elm Street, No Kane Hodder from Friday the 13th, No Ralph Fiennes from Harry Potter, No Christopher Lee from either Lord of the Rings or Dracula (could have also had Bela Lugosi for that), No Boris Karloff from Frankenstein and too many others.

  • My all time nr1 villain is Mariah Carey in Glitter, my god she's evil.

  • ...Dolph Lundgren?...twice...?...you just can t list him along with jack n and daniel day l....it s an insult...and robocop as movie?!?! wtf

  • nice choice with niclson as the joker.

  • Ivan Drago? seriously?

  • call me stupid, but where is Al Pacino in The devil's advocate and Heath Ledger in Dark Knight ?

  • which movie is that wit gary oldman? you didnt like kevin specy in seven?

  • @shlomojanuca

    Leon.

Known as The Professional in USA.

  • which movie is that wit gary oldman?

  • @shlomojanuca

"The Professional" or "Leon", depending on your country.

  • Wait a second, where is Hannibal Lecter? Amon Goeth? Alex Delarge? The Emperor?

  • Why do people insist on debating who's a better joker? They were both good, but they were both very different and they were both very well played by the actors portraying them. Really the whole idea of the Joker as a villain belongs on greatest bad guys because throughout the Batman cannon, he has been the biggest pain in the ass for the Caped Crusader. Burton's Joker played up the cartoony clown side of him, and Nolan's joker played emphasized the psycho killer side of him, and they both worked

  • @40Pacino Caesar Romero was the best. Ledger was over-rated and only got talked up cause he put so much into the character and died. Nicolson has been a turd for decades, one of the most over-rated actors in history just living off laurels he earned in the 60's and 70's.

  • Ivan Drago wasn't a villain.

  • hah, bitches leave

  • ROCKY 4?

    WHYYYYYYY?

  • this is the worst list ever!

  • you go bad to evil when you kill kids.....

  • i think voldemort should be in it. he kills babies

  • This is Marvatlarge's list; and frankly, I don't see what was so great about Heath Ledger's Joker. Batman was put back on the map again because of Jack Nicholson's Joker. Anyway, if you guys think this list is wrong, make your own list. I'd love to add another 'Best Villains' to my favorites list.

  • Frank Booth needs to be on this list....

I mean The Hitcher? FUCK THAT SHIT Pabst Blue Ribbon

  • 0:35 what a fucking corner camper!!!

  • Love it how people can only comment on your "poor" choice of villain by insulting you. Seriously mate Chigurh is one of the best villains, my movie knowledge may not be as expansive as yours but I can appreciate how his evil nature is well combined with his silent persona to make a truly terrifying character.

  • I agree with MansonFan64, Kevin Costner has always sucked. How did he ever become a star. Same character in every movie.

  • and Where's Anton Chigurh?

  • Wtf did Red Foreman EVER have hair ??? lol Robocop came out like a zillion years ago

  • This list sucks. The hitcher really.

  • this is truly wack

  • What about the bad cop from Rambo

  • ugh, kevin costner is a horrible actor :P

  • whats with people getting shot and trying to crawl away. idiots

  • Whaaaaatttt!!! where are the members of the godfather family?! And where is HAL9000?? Following the plot of the movie, HAL potentially destroys the human race as a whole... which could classify him as the greatest villain of all time, because he did so consciously!

  • the universal soldier one with scarface... yes....

  • you could put both jokers down as a tie, but not both on different spots. We need Scarface..... some Tony Montana.... some "say hello to my little friend".

  • How Is Gary Oldman #5? Did You See That Super Slaughter-fest?!! XD

  • we want HEATH * * * we want HEATH * * * we want HEAT

  • Kurgan absolutely. Dolph Lundgren twice and no Anthony Perkins or Malcolm McDowell?

  • actually a villian list was officially made quite a while ago, Vader took first place... Was on TV.

  • i am a villian

  • no offence mate, you chose several of the best bad guys in movies (I like a lot Clarence Boddiker for example) but putting a second rate actor like dolph lundgren at the second place is a bit ridicoulous.. why you forgot villains such as Hans Gruber from Die Hard? Or Castor Troy from Face Off?

  • great list, man! ...my favorite villain is the one you don't see his face in the entire movie>> the mad truck-driver in "duel" (1971) directed by Steven Spielberg ...cheers! :)

  • How can any list of top movie villains not include Anton Chigurh from No Country For Old Men?

  • @MrRdeboy your a tard, that guy isn't anywhere near the catagory of Anthony Hopkins or Dennis Hopper ... get a clue

  • fail, No Denzel in Training Day.

  • LOVE your psycho's..they are BAD ASS!!!..LOL

  • the only difference between nicholson's joker and romero's joker is that nicholson had a script that called for him to kill people....you take that out of his joker and he's just imitating what romero did. don't argue just go back and watch them both.....

  • does anyone know any good films where the villain wins in the end. here are some i've seen so far

    The Usual Suspects

    Seven

    Saw

    The Dark Knight

    The Empire Strikes Back

    Swordfish

if you know any more please tell me

don't give me any of those protaganists that have an evil alter ego which takes over at the end give me the real nasty clever ones

  • @DVman700 now anybody that wanted to see anyone of that movies knows the end

    thank you very much!

  • @DVman700 Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal, Basic Instinct, House of 1000 Corpses, The Ring, and the Blair Witch part one and two.

  • al pacino tops all best villian lists in my opinion for his role as satan in the devil's advocate

  • where is george bush?

  • Kurtwood Smith is scarier as Red in "That 70s Show"

  • no Hannibal Lector???

  • good video but volumes too low.

  • Dennis Hopper from Blue Velvet plays Frank Booth should be on this list also

  • @30carbineshooter

Hopper should also be in there for Paris Trout. He raped Barbara Hershey with a bottle of coca-cola and then covered the entire floor outside her bedroom with glass pane so he could tell if she left her room.

  • Lotso from Toy Story 3, that bear is messed up.

  • What exactly is the criteria for this list? Because Ivan Drago to me just does not cut it. You should also show the scenes of the villains where they are at the peak of their "evil." Not just a bunch of random killing spoilers. Otherwise, it looks pretty good.

  • Vincent from collateral?

  • Daniel Day lewis as the butcher should be number 1! That was the best acting i have ever seen in my life and he was cheated out of an oscar for it!!!!! Bill the butcher is just an American legend for a villian. And day lewis is inhuman when it comes to acting, he is just perfection.

  • natural born killers or devils rejects should be there

  • What does the Scouter say about his power level!?!?! 8:22

  • My vote is for Chiwetel Ejiofor as The Operative in Serenity. Cool and calculating, very good performance.

  • monk:lets see if we can resolve our differences the democratic way

    bill:f*** that,i got a axe(trows it at monk)

  • I knew a girl who could fit two coconuts in her mouth at the same time.

  • @MrECrux she must have been popular with the guys at your school then

  • i really cant complain about the number 1 spot.....was expecting heath ledgers joker but had forgotten all about the hitcher....an excellent choice!

  • @malarky321 Also note the date of posting, this video was before "The Dark Knight" release ^.^

  • Clancy Brown, yes. Kevin Costner, no.

  • Good you got the right joker.

  • Iwan Drago villian?Probably he was an enemy, but not a villain.

  • THANK YOU for having the REAL Joker...Jack's Joker. That new guy sucked ass.

  • @stafflvr I'm sure you have got plenty of shit for thinking that but in accordance with the comics your right. However, as a believable, frightening villain, got to go with Heath Ledger's Joker

  • Dolph Lundgren in Universal Soldier for #2? Wtf...

  • @Hallinilla5 dude he was pretty fucking evil...probably not the right spot but i'm glad they put him in

  • Great list, well put together. I've been saying for years that the Kurgen is the greatest bad guy of all time, great to see him in the top three here. I don't know about Sgt. Scott as number 2, but John Ryder is an excellent pick for number 1. Like I say, the Kurgen is my number 1, but Rutger Haur in The Hitcher runs a very close 2nd, and Rutger is the only one who'd be in my top ten twice because Roy Batty would have to be in there too. Like the list, ignore the children. 5/5.

  • davros is 1st. he tried to destroy not a planet but EVERYTHING IN EXISTANCE. He created the daleks wich are probably one of the deadliest things in "existance" and has survived the time war in wich nearly everyone in it died

  • poor list where is

    Alex Delarge

    Hannibal Lector

    Colonel Kurtz

  • Never make another video again if you cant make it right, it should be The Dark Night Joker as number one, atleast that way it would be a little correct.

  • James Wood would also made a great addition to this list

  • Which one of his?

  • Comment removed

  • Gary Oldman as Stansfield was great. If you see the movie you really hate him

  • You put Ivan the joke Drago on the list? That guy wasn't a villain, he was a laughing stock.

  • Where the fuck is Hannibal?

  • Agreed!!!!!!!!!!! They also forgot to put Heath Ledger's Joker on there!!!!!!!!!

  • BUSH should be number 1

  • technically vader is a victim not a villain :)

  • Habba-WHA!? No. He is such a stereotype villain.

  • @Phelan666 no seriously, george lucas said it was funny seeing people's reactions when they found out vader was the victim. Its because of the emperor tricking him into thinking the jedi are evil.

  • wrong

  • @OrioNX99 if you don't believe me then watch it for yourself, its on the extras disk from episode 3. so don't call me wrong when you don't even know.

  • If Lucas thinks that just because Vader has an angsty past that he is all of the sudden the victim then it just means that Lucas is a horrible writer.

All villains have bad pasts, it's what makes them go insane.

  • @Phelan666 but now your just stereotyping villains, fair enough most of the good ones have bad pasts but it doesn't mean they HAVE to. Anikan's bad past was technically the sith deceiving him and he kills him in the end, because luke makes him realize that the sith are wrong.

  • So? Just because Hitler was mentally ill doesn't excuse what he did.

If Lucas didn't want people to stereotype Vader, he shouldn't have made him a fucking stereotype. Lucas is a horrible literary. His plots are entirely unoriginal. He is, however, a good filmmaker (until JarJar). That is the only reason Star Wars is good. It sure as fuck wasn't the long string of overplayed literary cop-outs that he calls a plot.

  • @Phelan666 I agree that Lucas sucks tbh, yeah he made him a stereotype at first but then he changed it, thats my point. now people are feeling sorry for him, when you don't tend to feel sorry for villains.

  • Any of the torturers in Hostel, and the main torturer in Hostel.

  • Why not make your own list?

  • What do you mean?

  • The villain in Cape Fear. He's a rapist that went after a guy's wife, daughters, and was going to kill them. Seemed not much different than Ted Bundy. Enjoyed being a depraved pieceofshit, and didn't apologize nor feel any hesitation in what he wanted to do.

  • I think you can you beg for justice to see Dr.Loveless in Wild Wild West get his trashed. He's so much of a crud bastard that even one of his top minions tried to kill him.

  • What about Colonel Tavington from the Patriot?

  • Rayne From Passenger 57.Killed a unarmed helpless man, did other wretched acts of terrorism.

Can't remember his name but the villain from Indiania Jones and the Temple of Doom. Enslaved children, murdered opposers, and brainwashed people.

Ken Castle From Gamer He framed Kable for a crime, kept him from his wife, and was decieving pretty much everyone. Loved seeing Kable (Gerard Butler) smasn and kill the deplorable wretched garbagerag.

  • I don't think you can deny Malignant. She got ranked in the top 10 of the top 100 villains, is responsible for all the misery in the movie, and is so heinous she would make the Devil Proud. Watch Sleepy Beauty and I think you would find it hard to say I hated Malignant with all my heart, and loved seeing her get defeated by a Valiant Prince.

  • tht joker was crap

  • Honestly, are there are really any true villains. Most of these people you watch and are like, "Whoa! He's badass" Where is the villian that you watch and despise every lasting second?

  • @TheRealPinkMenace

I think you can't deny Malignant from Sleeping Beauty is a villain. She knew she was the a devil of wickedness, and loved it. Scar, ruthless paparazzi in Paparazzi, Ian from National Treasure, The Devil from the tv show Reaper, Green Goblin (Norman Osborne) in Spider Man, Shredder In TMNT, TMNT 2, Scar from Lion King.

  • I'm gonna say most of those are disney owned movies, so your villains aren't the villains I'm talking about. Those V's are evil, but not evil enough. They don't provoke the response I'm looking for. Sure, you dislike them, but thats mainly because they're titled the evil character. I want to see a V that is hated, not because he only the titled character, but because he does things that is vile and disgusting that the audience begs for justice.

  • @TheRealPinkMenace Ok so you are looking for ones outside of Dinsey.

Screwface from Marked for Death He was willing to do just about anything to get hatcher dead.

Deacon from Broken Arrow. Loved that he got his ass kicked in the end, and was a incompotent as a no name thug not able to recover.

  • @TheRealPinkMenace Look at my last bit of responses, and I think you will defenitly agree the villains are garbage crudbags that have people begging they get struck down.

  • best villain list on youtube

  • uh most of these seem more killers than villians

  • @runawayfreak

Claren Bdidcker from Robocop may have been a cold blooded killer but that doesn't make him any less of a deplorable villain. Willing to throw one his own out of a car, lead a savage assault on Officer Murphy while loving it, and was a minion to the top villain Dick Jones who seemed like a evil Donald Trump.

  • Al Pacino as Satan needs to be on there.

  • common! Jack Nicholson as the Joker?

I'm sorry but Heath Ledger was abetter Joker.

  • I think it is about the best character not actor

  • WHERE THE HELL IS SYLAR????

  • where the hell is Sauron??

and Btw darth sidius is WAY MORE evil then darth vader!!

  • gimme a break they all suck

  • your list sux

  • constructive and meaningful, your really showing us what a first grade education and access to a school library computer can do for a person.

  • Weak. The hitch hiker? Give me a break. That movie sucked.

  • the hitcher and the hitch hiker are two different movies. Also there were two versions of the hitcher made one in 2007(not a good movie) one in 1986 (kicks lots of ass).

  • thank you, yes the Hitcher not the hitch hiker, worlds apart in quality.

  • No the Hitcher from 86 staring Rutger Hauger and C Thomas Howel, not the hitch hiker staring...well no one cool

  • The Joker is the 1st...and played by Heath Ledger...in your small cave didn't you heard about the Dark Knight?

  • Sorry, this list isn't for little girls.

  • Nah Ledgers Joker was too much physco not enough super villian like in the books, sure he was a little kitchy but that was part of his appeal, that he would take it so far to make a bomb out of a pair of chattering teeth. Ledgers was a mad man, but he was all shooty stabby, he just didn't take it as far.

  • @CountOlaf94 Silly young people, Heath was good, great even, but he wasn't the best.

  • @Karlwootwoot jack nicholson was the best joker

  • @Karlwootwoot Everyone I see who force themselves to like '89's fat over the top nicholson in joker make up are kids trying to be different and cool despite it being a lackluster and annoying performance. Well see if The Dark Knight's The Joker will be a 'young people' fad. If the internet were around in the 70s Marlon Brando's Godfather would have been hated on.

  • @KevsHardLemonade

    I didn't like Nicholson Joker.

  • @Karlwootwoot Me neither. The dark knight has the definitive Joker.

  • @Karlwootwoot And why shouldn't he take the first place? It's all about personal taste after all. I too don't think he is the best villain of all time (although my choice is quite predictable - Hopkins in you know where), but , again, Ledger was fantastic and I don't see a reason why you dismiss him like that.

And it's even sillier that a 24 year old says "silly young people". Ridiculous even.

  • There's no need to be so patronizing. Heath Ledger was among the best, and if young people can appreciate that I would take it as a good sign

  • @breeeegs

If you call that patronizing my friend clearly you don't comment enough on Youtube XD. See everyone made my comment exclusively about the Joker, Never said he wasn't the best Joker but he's not the best Villain which is what this video was about.

  • @Karlwootwoot Sure you may not think he wasn't the best but he definately was better than The Hitcher. I mean come on that was just a B movie.

  • @Karlwootwoot yeah i agree. i grew up to mark hamil doin the voice ofthe joker on the animated batman, so he will alway be the joker for me

  • @CountOlaf94 if you'll notice, all the movies on this list came out before 2008.

  • bush should have got the second place, seriously.

  • Nicely covered... but you forgot Kefka.

  • I liked the fact that non-commercial villians and villians that only people who remember the good ol' movies of the 90's know are used. It brings back good memories. EVERYONE knows the top villians of today. It's been done before.

  • Gary Oldman is an ecellent actor, but he was not worthy of the top 10 villains. That character was just a nutcase killer. Anyone can pull a triger a couple of times.

  • But...but...but he liked Beethoven!

  • Liking Beethoven doesn't make you a good villain.LOL

  • Yeah; well...his performance was excellent.

I think Hannibal Lecter should be in first place.

  • Hannibal Lecter... ya. Excellent villain.
