  • So what are the goals of a differentiated classroom?

I understand the need to address students at their personal levels, but is there are still "standards" of state mandated frameworks. NCLB State standards is naturally at odds with differentiated instruction (causing bordom for some, and frustration for others to assure meeting standards), particularly in precisely defined disciplines of math and science.

  • @drfoxcourt I feel as though standards are guidelines for what your tasks should be based on, but what is taught is up to the teacher. I would even go as far to say it is a game we nee to play meeting standard. For example in music: "why yes my students played an instrument today therefore they played alone or with others thus meeting standard 1"

The goal of a differentiated classroom help students reach the same goal (task) though another way of engagement. have a good one. thoughts?
