  • Nice.

  • great tip number 25

  • ''Rax'' ',''Chainer'',''BLOXPANDER'',''VSTHOST'',''CANTABILE'',''Brainspawn Forte'' these are example of software that let you stack vst plugins in simple setups for live stage use,are you telling me that the props cant come up with a simple chainer just like they came up with the combinator? Apple's Mainstage is a perfect example of a live performance tool.

  • Why dont the props just make a ''CHAINER'' module or a seperate screen for using ''REASON'' in alive setup'! if anyone out there reads the history of this software you will find that it was created to replace a rack of outboard gear. They have forgotten those of us who don't CARE about competing with other DAWs You have to use this stupid setup just to play your rack modules.WE NEED A LIVE VERSION OF REASON,STRIPPED OF ALL THE EXTRA BS FOR THOSE WHO ACTUALLY CAN PLAY AN INSTRUMENT. MAINSTAGE?

  • I would like to ask a question thats been bothering me for a while, but I couldn´t find any solid answer. If I wanted to play live synths/piano and samples then maybe some effects, maybe more than one imputs.... with Reason, how powerful would my machine have to be? Would it have to be PC or MAC and what about the specs? Is that even possible? I found 2Ghz processor and 2GB RAM, but come on, I dont realy believe it could be that fast.

  • @morume I use a 2007 white macbook with those specs every week on stage! So go for it!

  • Awesome video. I use Reason live with my AKAI EWI-USB. I even have pics of how I made my live rig at ewireasonsounds.

Reason is the only software I trust for playing live - never had a problem.

  • James, is it possible to leave an audio track audible during playback? this posses problem for me live

  • nice dubstep tune James)

  • LOL. Nice burn on Avid.

  • It would also be great to be able to access a preset sound in Reason by entering a number on the keypad. You can buy USB numberpads that would be great for this. Have a list of a dozen presets, tap the digits, and presto, you're in there.

It would also be great to have a preview capacity so I could listen to a sound in headset before I put it on the main outs. Maybe preview with a small keyboard, and then switch it to the main one.

Great video, James. Keep em coming.

  • whats a good interface for mac?

  • @bbsc34

I recommend MOTU interfaces, Apogee interfaces, Presonus interfaces.. all are very solid and have great sounding D/A converters.

  • @jamesbernardmusic

I was actually thinking about giving the Presonus FireStudio Mobile a try for my home studio. Thanks!

  • Bernard! Always bringing the good stuff. Thanks, man.

  • Hehe. JB has a midifighter! :D

  • @KaptenKobbe Yep! I fancy unusual and alternate control surfaces.

  • @jamesbernardmusic

    They are the best! :)

  • Thank you sooo much. This is exactly what I was needing to do. You Rock.

  • 5:23 You could actually just route the second device right out the mix channel.

  • this man is a genius ! when's the next time ur in cailornia, bay area. i want to attend a seminar bro. ive been using reason since 2.0 first come out. this record is off the hook. had it now for about 8 months , i need to see more advanced tutorials on it. thanks dude.

  • @hobopowerranger2 im sorry, i misspelled "california" lol

  • I played 3 shows with a microKORG before I switched to a complete R+R setup

  • Great timing! I am going to play one my first "serious" gigs in some months, and was planning on using Reason and Record for keyboards and effetcs.

    Very helpful tutorial! :D
