i tried installing the crt effect and it said voice command was crashing so i did know how to reset it so i used the D2bootstrap to reset it and now when i turn on the phone it goes straight to the d2bootstrap and it doesnt boot up

then ifigured out how to use the phones reset by holding down the power and home then press the volume buttons and i reset it but it stil takes me to the bootstrap menu

i've used this method before to sbf back to froyo so i could install apex but this time i was sbf'ing back so i could put it on the stock verizon gingerbread build and it said "execution failed" and on the phone it wont do anything but show the bootloader screen and it says "code corrupt" any suggestions? please respond quickly!!!

The factory reset option will not come up when I press the search button after the android robot with the triangle is on the screen. The phone is in a constant boot loop is there any other way to factory wipe the data?

I agree, the factory reset / data wipe is important! I SBF'd and when the phone loaded up, it was really slow, there were some error messages and then it froze... and I couldn't do anything! I SBF'd again thinking something had gone wrong-- there was nothing but a blank screen... the notification pane was able to be pulled down but other than that it was blank!!! I watched this video and remembered I hadn't done a data wipe!!! After the data wipe, everything was clean, fresh and back to normal!!

Do you have to wipe data if u want to do this then upgrade to pre-rooted gingerbread? Also if u dont delete data will your apps or any contacts be deleted at all?

@peyton61492 youll only need to wipe data if you bootloop, if you dont wipe data, yes your apps, and contacts and such will still be gone, as this sets phone to out of the box factory settings

agcz... you can not sbf your phone from settings.. you can factory reset...besides if your phone was bricked you wouldnt really be able to access settings... this is really for those who have modified their phone and accidently bricked it or for those who want to downgrade from gingerbread back to froyo

Thought mine was too far gone, but this SBF brought it back! And regarding the PC not finding your pone...go into the Config settings and click on "first-come-first-seved" in the devceID tab. Can`t vouch for everyone, but it worked like a champ for me.
