@wildberberwoman If you had read the description, you'd have realized that Bogie is an education bird for the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey. He was a wild bird whose wing was injured. He was brought to the Center by caring individuals for treatment. His wing was fixed as best as could be, but unfortunately, he can never be released back into the wild, because he can't fly thus he can't hunt. You would have them release him where he'd starve to death. And you think you're an owl lover!
We have these in Arizona. They are so cool and they come near people a lot. I even saw two mating on Valentines' Day. (No dinner, no flowers, just Wham Bam!)
You can watch my short film Mokhtar online on YouTube until May 18. I think you'll find it interesting. Of all the cast, only the owl is a professional actor. Based on a true story, Mokhtar recounts the tale of a young boy in a remote Moroccan village as he adopts a fallen owl.
Seems like you confuse "Animal Lovers" with "Idiocy".
The two words point to two different concepts... you know?
So you might have not noticed but not all animal lovers are ignorant... You claim that being ignorant for not knowing the difference between a horse and a owl is embarassing? I agree.
Not knowing the difference between climatology and meteorology is embarassing? I agree.
Not knowing the difference between "animal lovers" and "ignorant people" is embarassing as well.
@QuantumQuacks monkeys are scary as shit...they're lucky they just got bitch slapped...don't fuck with monkeys. have you seen a person after a monkey attack(youtube it)? I'd honestly rather be mauled by a grizzly bear and not survive then be mauled by a monkey and live to tell the tale. Lol. That sounds like I'm joking but I'm dead serious.
Nothing I love more than being outside in the pre dawn hours and hearing one of these owls. Supposedly the sound of them hooting can carry several miles on a still night, I always feel honored to hear them. Like nature itself speaking.
@MoonyPlusPadfoot Bubo and Skench are Great Horned Owls, Spoorn is a Western Screech Owl, while King Boron, Queen Barran, and Aunt Finny are Snowy Owls.
I have a tall house with big windows overlooking woods. We are at the same height as birds as a result. Just had an owl mistake something on my tv for prey (I had my tv on in my top floor master bedroom). It tried to fly in my house via some big floor-ceiling windows. Thankfully the big guy wasn't hurt (windows didn't break either). I went outside to check on him. He was fine and hooing.. Thank God. I love having them around. They are nice and great "neighbors".
@BEL79NUN Me too.Just got a horned owl tattooed on my upper right wrist.5 hours and it turned out great.Owls are so cool.We have a few that like to hang out in our pecan trees during the summer nights. This past year I got to sneak out and see them. They are so smart.

I saw an owl sitting on top of my car tonight, which made me watch owl videos on YouTube, it was funny cuz the closer I came the owl tilted his head, and I mean like 180 degree tilt, his head went sideways, then it flew away
That owl is so cute. I would like to see one staring at me from the tree. Then I reach out my hand or arm, and then he stare at it. Then he fly down and landed on my arm like this one and then hoot. what do you think? :-))
My neighbor, the great horn owl, decided to kill 5 of my chickens and continue and I caught him well and alive. Any ideas what I can do so that he won't attack my chickens after letting him go? Forget about covering the chicken from top because they are free range. I respect owls because they are part of the natural environment.

@cactuschris2002 I don't buy meat from the store because they are injected with all kinds of chemicals that weaken you immune system. Raise what you eat is the best way.
