i own the board and it preforms great in games even at original 2.66GHz with a evga 260 vid card but

the first version board in combonation with intels first version processer will not allow you to overclock past 3GHz unless due to voltage droop and to my amazement they are still selling the first version boards at all the online stores just buy one and RMA for a second version board !

if you watched the video, and heard everything they said, the ASRock X58 has been pretuned to handle up to 4.0GHz for the i7 core. Whatever overlocking you did that was on on the EZ OC BIOS menu, it's your own fault, not ASRock's. If you want to overlock something for more than that, then buy another motherboard that doesnt have EZ OC. Also, note the CPU monitor, it wouldn't be recommended to use the i7 cores up to more than 4.0GHz as it could cause stability issues and as well as extreme wear.

I noticed that ASRock mobos went up in price across the board (no pun intended). I've got one so far and I can say the layout, stability, and features are that of an expensive board, and the price has recently fluctuated reflecting this. Bummer. But, I will buy them from now on.
