This episode is unique in TZ for two things. First of all, only two people appear in it, which is by far the smallest number of characters. Number two, both actors (Jack Klugman and Jonathan Winters) are both still alive today and this is the only episode that all actors who appear in it are still alive.
@Shadowhumper360 Well I did make a mistake. It is not the episode with least characters in it anyway. Episode with least characters is Last Night as a Jockey which has only one character played by Mickey Rooney.
@Shadowhumper360 Yes he is. He is only person that appears in episode Last Night of a Jockey, not counting that he is talking to his girlfriend on the phone which doesn't count as appearance.
@Abena20 I'm inclined to agree, but then too,Pool was never THAT important to me,as it is to him(Jesse/ Klugman). Even Fats(Winters) has pretty much told him that it's not all that important.
great sci writers, great stories

I think some posters are missing the point. It's about proving yourself. Great episode. Winter's is brilliant.

Life, or death--if he wins, he only gets to keep what he's already got. Duh!

To touch the topic of the risks, joys, and responsibilities of being THE champion of champions, they should do one with Babe Ruth.
