Watching the news IS surreal these days...I find that they either don't report the important stories at all, or if they do, they report it in a way so that the true meaning of the story is reversed: "things were looking up today for the US economy when the stock market rose by xx%..." etc. (Ignoring the reason this actually happened, which is actually bad for the overall health of the economy).
