A bunch of us in the 70's never accepted his pop shit (Wings etc...) after they broke up (Beatles).. it was so much like teeney-booper pop-crap...but man I like this song...
@PaulisWilliam Remember this was released as sung by "The Fireman", so Paul didn't need the pressure of the song released as a McCartney track; his voice is disguised. Listen to the live version on the "Good Evening New York City " Album! Fantastic!
@PaulisWilliam Sure he sounded better when he was 25, but very little has been lost. For a guy who will be SEVENTY years old next year ( not to mention nearly 50 years in the limelight ) I'm flat out amazed that he's still coming out with new ideas......
que Calidad de Ser humano es Paul, Siendo el Musico mas rico del mundo y el mas Influyenrte de todos los tiempos a sus 68 años se toma el tiempo para compartor con los niños Bromear, Por eso es mi Idolo.
@caulinrocker@caulinrocker yes Paul is "The Fireman" but @caulinrocker no, Paul's 1st solo album "McCartney" was 1970, then he worked with Linda McCartney to record the album "Ram" in 1971.(solo kinda') . During the 1990s, Paul collaborated with Youth of Killing Joke under the name the Fireman, \ for ambient electronic albums: Strawberries Oceans Ships Forest (1993) and Rushes (1998 ), and "Electric Arguments" (Nov. 25 2008. ). Martin Glover is Youth's real name, Paul=Fireman (Wikipedia)
every sentence in this song is amazing. Sir Paul McCartney sang this live at his show in Holland december 9th, and I was there^^ it's amazing how many petaphores and beautiful words 'sing the changes' contains.. I already have a peace-sign tattooed on my wrist, and i think I'll get 'sing the changes' or 'colored pencils draw the picture' tattooed below that^^
Yeah! You can see what McCartney is looking to do with his impeccable music-making. With the Betles and Wings he pursued personal musical ripening and ambition...now so very accomplished.
He his using his twilight years to try to bring a divided and fractured world together through music...forget the reasons for separation, but focus on the needs and wants to bring cohesion about...music will do that!
Not bullets, not bombs, no hateful ideologies...just music!
i love this paul cann call him self wings and the docter of music but its all the same if you have the uh...mccartney yers he told us that he tryd to avoid the whol beatles soun of music but there was no way around it he was a beatle he alwase will be in my book
Jim Brown, Muhammad Ali, and Paul McCartney are the last men of a generation that personify greatness. This song reminds me of what great men these people are and the hope they brought our society.
Wow ...Ive never heard Paul Mccartney (or for that matter, The Beatles) linked with Ali and Jim Brown... but when you think about it... it is a good comparison! Renaissance Men!
the eternal optomist...God love im, Paul McCartney. paul was blessed with the gift of being always able to sublimate when life kicks him in the head. its wonderful to be able to hear him do it again. a cosmic transfer of energy from the negative to the sublime...incredible stuff
I love pauls paintings,he is gods gife to us all,the kids love him in this video, hope he never stops making new music and paints the city red.he's the dude man

I want to see him perform this live. For real, no bs. He needs to do SNL or Letterman or something worth a damn and play this music in front of an audience live. Enough with "the Fireman". This is his best music in years.
i really like paul's new flavor, starting with chaos in the backyard which i absolutely loved and was worried that he'd continue with his pattern of a good album followed up by throwaways. but instead he followed up with memory almost full, which i liked even more. but now electric arguments is a notch above the others and might be the best thing he's done since band on the run. i listen to the album at least 3 times a day. it's the year's best album, besides dhani harrison's thenewno2 release.
Beautiful lyrics. Does anyone know where Paul is in this video? I see Arabic writing--perhaps a musical peace mission? Heavens, what a fine man and musician.
in the check shirt, playing the mandolin, blowing the reed, talking to the children, taking photographs, signing autographs, playing guitar, singing the changes, playing the harmonica, you would be better asking if there is any part where he isn't. But I heard this for the first time today and I have already been and purchased the album.
It is very retro but at the same time new with a superb dance beat.
This song should have been playing right after Obama won and finished his victory speech. Finally Paul is saying/singing something again!! About time!!!
it's funny that someone would say paul is finally saying something again. his last 2 albums were full of personal statements, but this album's lyrics were borrowed from several sources and cut and paste together. how strange it all works out. btw, i'd gag myself with a shovel if paul starts singing to michelle obama or lend anymore of his songs to presidents and politics like that whole stupid "freedom" song fiasco. it makes him look cheap. he's above that, unlike bruce springstink.
Paul(solo) as great as he is/was never really said anything or at least said it with feelings or \was believed. That's all. When Lennon said "fucking" in Working Class Hero song it was classic & worked perfectly, but when Paul says, fucking in Big Boys Bickering....it's does nothing.
It's this simple...The Beatles rate in the way they were announced... J, P, G & R
Paul made his bed with all that woooooo shit he used to do live in concerts in 90's.
Well, to be fair, Paul did snub rightwing dictator Marcos of the Philippines back in '66. Even if he didn't know it. Still, he ought to cut out the singing for the leaders ... or their wives. Next thing you know, he'll want to perform before the Queen of England. Sheesh.
each song was written in a day. Taken from the Guardian report 30 sept 08
The project only appears slightly more dubious with the news that each of Electric Arguments' 13 tracks were written and recorded in just one day. Though we hope that this pace made for spontaneous sounds, the rapid-fire sessions spread over the course of a year - are more likely to have made for slapdash, half-arsed tracks. Then again, who are we to tell Paul McCartney how to write a song?
whatever he did, it worked. i don't care if he wrote and recorded each song in 15 minutes, it's good stuff. but then again i loved wings wild life when it came out and that was recorded in two weeks. sometimes artists can overwork their songs to death in a recording studio and it's nice to hear something fresh like this and know it's fairly organic. it's inspiring.

yes nice that you bought it, that makes two sales. I've also got a copy :D
It appears that no matter how good the reviews are for Mccartney, he just won't sell anymore.
Commercially it just doesn't seem to work anymore. It makes me sad in a way, cause I really wan't him to have number 1's, platina records etc.
You know, just one more number 1 for the legend he is. He most surely deserves it don't you think.
