I knew a few guys that used to do stuff like that. I suppose it's fine but you're still going to have to get a new motherboard when USB 3 and the 8 cores come out. which will require a new cpu. so the whole "planning for the future" thing is mostly a waste of cash. (at the rate technology develops anyway)

I know it's a problem. But what can he do he just wants to play the FPSes he likes today. He has to build such a pc, not thinking of the future. If he starts thinking he could say "well in order to save money why not wait for the 16 cores, USB4 and SATA3". He can enjoy his pc for at least 2 years. Besides something started to change in pc market. Due to financial crash the companies prefer to issue a processor and wait until they can get their money back, and then they design a new one. Maybe.

Its not impossible. Its also difined by the CPU used. If he has a core 2 quad extreme running on 4 GHz overclocked he could even get 10000 with a onboard graphics card. I have 12800 with a single 8800 GT with same CPU and G.E.I.L. Black dragon ram 800 MHz 4-4-4-12. Now I have OC'ed to 3.6 GHz but I don't know what my score is now. It's a nice rig though

For the right SLI performance you need 2 of the same Cards not from XFX and ASUS only from XFX or form ASUS but not bouth^^ *rofl*

no you wrong. The can be different, the thing you need to have for SLI is a same graphic-Chip. Only if you have 2 Graphiccards (for example XFX 8800GTS and EN8800GTS) with exactly the same Graphic-chip you can activate SLI. By the way, i have XFX and ASUS Graphiccards and SLI works perfect. Please informate you before posting.

Oh mann jetzt schreib ich alles in englisch, da ich dachte du sprichst nur englisch. Naja, ich hab SLI aktiviert mit XFX grafikkarte und Asus EN grafikkarte. Das wichtigste ist der Grafikchip, wenn beide den gleichen haben dann geht das. Also, wenn man keine Ahnung hat sollte man die Fresse halten.

I have The LED fans from Alternate (german computer-seller). The Cooler is called Zalman ZM-F3GL (this one is green).

GTX is way better than GT just look at any forum or 3dmark.

GT's are only better at lower resolutions. MEMORY is why. The GTX and Ultra have more "muscle" in the higher resolutions eg 2560*1600 or 1900*1200
