It is NOT a virus, don't give a good product a bad name just because you downloaded some malware with a similar name. P.S. This program along with Malwarebytes is a killer combination.

The Antivir thing. It just appeared on his computer and he didn't try to install it. Though I think it may have been a fake version (Antivera is what he said it was called).

Mine does not have sounds over boxes or headset, it does not allow me to use interactive mode if a virus was found and it takes 120 times longer than version 9, but I have the free version.

My advice: If you have Avira 9, do NOT update!
