I've always loved this song. Very strange and interesting sound. It is my favorite song from the Load/Reload albums. I hope they'll play it live someday somehow.

@CainmosniMirrored He Load came out it was highly criticized for the sudden change in direction. The years have been very kind to this album I've found. It's one of their best albums in my opinion. The more I listen to Load the more I realize that this was a great album, even if James Hetfield said they were "polishing turds".

i think Load was more geared towards stoners, As a guitarist (and really in genera)l i like Ride the lightning, and MOP, but this album appeals to me mostly when im really high or trippin,i mean just listen to this song, and that album art is soo spaced, regardless, metallica rules, so whatever you love of em for ROCK ON!
It's not an experiment, it's the the same style just stripped down! Weaker drumming, less guitar solos, where the hell's the bass, and while Hetfield's still got it in this album, this is where it starts to slip away...
St. Anger, while a lot of people don't like the music itself, WAS a good, successful "experiment" as you say. Death Magnetic, while it has many problems, it shows Metallica getting better, however it seems to late...
I don't understand people who don't like this album... Yes it's different from the others by being more groovy and more commercial but it's still an amazing album
the only song i really don't maybe i am being dum but i really don't appericate is Escape off of ride the lighting im sorry but i dont care for that one and also most of reload mostly all songs except fuel memory remains and devils dance also low man's lyric until recently i became in love with that album
And for the record, this particular song is about alcohol abuse, particularly what Jack Daniel has done to Hetfield's body (house, temple) if any of you were wondering what the lyrics meant.
If you can't appreciate the fact that a band can experiment with a new sound once in a while, unlike other bands that play the same dry riffs and vocals for several albums straight, then you need a fist in the mouth. I appreciate all of Metallica's songs - They each bring something different to the table - and it shows that they're in it for the music and don't give a fuck about what haters think.
st anger was a mess no guitar solos. death magnetic was a revisit of lightining and kill em all these albums have great songs but too hold this once double album in high essteem is a mistake. for a life long hard core metalli fan anyway.

@Looneybird2011 I've heard that one like a million times, it's as canned a response as a person can give in a discussion of Metallica. Jason was a fine bassist and the driving force behind Metallica has always been the combined song writing efforts of Hetfield and Ulrich. Not to take away from any others in the band, but these guys are kind of a Lennon/McCartney of metal.
Everything from Kill 'Em All to The Black Album were perfect masterpieces, from Load to Death Magnetic were "ehhhhhh, but still good". But i give James Lars Kirk and Robert my full Respect.

i think Load was more geared towards stoners, As a guitarist (and really in genera)l i like Ride the lightning, and MOP, but this album appeals to me mostly when im really high or trippin,i mean just listen to this song, and that album art is soo spaced, regardless, metallica rules, so whatever you love of em for ROCK ON!

It's not an experiment, it's the the same style just stripped down! Weaker drumming, less guitar solos, where the hell's the bass, and while Hetfield's still got it in this album, this is where it starts to slip away...
St. Anger, while a lot of people don't like the music itself, WAS a good, successful "experiment" as you say. Death Magnetic, while it has many problems, it shows Metallica getting better, however it seems to late...
Load & Reload were just...the fall of a Giant...

If you can't appreciate the fact that a band can experiment with a new sound once in a while, unlike other bands that play the same dry riffs and vocals for several albums straight, then you need a fist in the mouth. I appreciate all of Metallica's songs - They each bring something different to the table - and it shows that they're in it for the music and don't give a fuck about what haters think.

If up until the masters they were a underground band playing small shows or something then came out black album and got big, you might have a point. But they were were filling stadiums to the brim since Ride the Lightning. They were already millionaires and could have kept on making thrash metal. But they wanted to experiment. @Looneybird2011 I've heard that one like a million times, it's as canned a response as a person can give in a discussion of Metallica. Jason was a fine bassist and the driving force behind Metallica has always been the combined song writing efforts of Hetfield and Ulrich. Not to take away from any others in the band, but these guys are kind of a Lennon/McCartney of metal.
