I want to learn how about this projects and how to combine origami with makigami. But, i am afraid i will be stuck on the paper, since i cannot find any brown origami paper like yours to cover the trunk. If i paint it, i have to use newspaper sheets to make little trunks for the leaves as well. could it be a good alternative? Thanks
@Mordaccituarvenge you could probably use standard brown craft paper. If you soak it for a little while it should soften up enough to mold over a paper mache base. You might also be able to order the paper from the place I got mind. thepaperplace.ca/
@Mordaccituarvenge I don't remember the exact name of the paper. It was a specialty paper. If you describe it as a fine wood grained paper, someone at the store might be able to tell you its name. If you have a fine paper shop in your area you might pay them a visit and see what they have. I'm sure there are papers other than the one I used that would look just as good. You might take a snapshot of the paper in the video with you.

@greg11gay Maybe you didn't past the whole link. I get url not found.

@Mordaccituarvenge it is the right link. It seems a copy and paste makes a mess of URLs. You might have to type it manually.

Otherwise in the online store search for the product Arashi Brown. Unfortunately Utube won't let me paste the exact url.
