I think the whole point is, Buying low and selling high, making a profit. In order to do that, you have to find cheap outlets to get your goods, and Garage selling is probably the best way to do that, BUT, thats not always the case. Lately I have been to some expensive garage sales. You can also pick up deals at Antique stores, because what may be plentiful and stagnant in one geographical area, may be rare and hot in another. Also check Charities that dont want to bother with some items.(Free)

hahah years and years of experience...going to a garage sale and buying on ebay -- that pretty much sums it up right there. you know what the book is about and how it ends already.

@davidshultz2007 well, thats the American Way. It takes Money to do EVERYTHING! MONEY ! MONEY! MONEY!. Greed is eating its own arse right now, because greed circulates, and the only thing that grows is numbers. Yes, I can raise my prices to make more, BUT the guy down the street will raise his to afford my items, so when I buy i will pay more, so, I raise em again, so when the guy down the street sees my prices , he will have to raise his, and its a never ending Cycle.

well I have been picking for years and i always get gold and sterling flatware jewelry ext for great prices for example i bought a gold chain and a cross for 2.00 and sold it five min later for 670.00 sterling tiffany flatware set for 25.00 sold for 4000.00 on the day after be at the tag sales early ask do you have jewelry nine tiimes out of ten they bring some from inside the house to you ask for things you dont see that you know you can make money on. good luck!

WOW, as an antique dealer I'm thinking maybe I should write a book. I turn a MUCH larger average return vs you probably because I know quite a bit more about antiques, designer clothing, jewelry and collectibles. My last find??? About 40 grams in vintage gold jewelry that I invested a total of $38 for. What will I make off it? Will top about $1,000 after I take it to the refinery. Knowledge like this took me YEARS to achieve. It doesn't happen overnight.

Estate auctions are better, especially if there is so much stuff that they sell whole tables for a couple dollars. I've bought an entire table for $2 before and found a first edition of one of the Wizard of Oz books, sold it for $439. Found an 1880's time lock, sold it for $2,300.

My Android mobile phone has helped me alot with garage saling. I can quickly view garage sales from Craigslist on a map with Garage Sale Rover. Media Scanner is another good one for getting quick prices.

I make good returns on Garage sales,,,vintage Chrome blenders for .25 cents ,, christmas ornaments u could sell for 8 bucks easily on ebay , u buy em for a dime! leather jackets for a buck,,,expensive shoes for 50 cent,,,,expensive toys for 50 cents,,,vintage and new ,,,furs for 2 bucks,,, Nice paintings for 5 bucks,, 2 for 5 if u dicker LOL jewely boxes full of jewelry for 5 bucks or less,,,old tools,,, take the whole box for 5 bucks,, its amazing!!!
