  • Maybe this jag should actually get good at cello before pulling a performance like this out of his ass. Jesus Christ...disgraceful.

  • Magical!

  • omg omg that last part. 2 die for!

  • lot of applause you got there.

  • Learning this song right now! :D I LOVE IT!!! It's wicked hard, yet WICKED fun!!! Though I'm not familiar with the pizz that you did at the beginning. My version of the piece starts off with like 8 measures of rest (or so) and goes right into the bowing part. Interesting... FABULOUS none the less!!

  • @CelloChick14 its not that hard >.>

  • Love, Love, love this song! :D I am gonna be learning this soon!

  • I was thinking as playing this as an anysma (probably spelled wrong) solo

  • I love that song I'm 10 years old and hope to play like you one day. also this is not my email its my brothers and I listen to J.S Bach all the time.

  • @SnakeJones11 This isn't Bach. it's Squire. glad to hear you like Bach though!

  • i was fooling around with a cello and my friend and she started playing this slowly, and then i strted to copy her, ive never played a cello in my life im a violinist XD

  • Everyone who is saying this is easy is correct, it just looks and sounds impressive but really isn't that hard at all. I'm a self-taught cellist (only had 4 year of private instruction after 9 years of struggling on my own). This was the 2nd piece my instructor gave me in my first year with him and it didn't take me long to learn at all.

  • I could play that song last year and it was WAY easier then it sounds....but it never gets old :)

  • @bmay7377 i'm learning it w/ my private teacher, it is easier than it sounds, and it really never gets old, the fingerings are really comfortable

  • gosh i love this. makes me proud to be a cellist

  • I was following along with this guy with the copy I was going to be playing for a orchestra festival he got through the first page in less than a minute. damn.

  • this song is WAYYYY easier than it looks. im 11 and been playing cello for 2 years and i can play this

  • I'm 11 am I'm learning Tarantella by myself right now. My cell teacher is having a goliday or somethign so I have to learn the sng by myself :Z I'm checcking to see if it sounds right by watching this video over and over. =D

  • everybody say tara then en te lla its tarantella thats how you say it fools but the song is awesome

  • if you would give a concert in Estonia(top of the Baltics) id do anything not to miss it

  • @TheSilver112. I'd love to play there. I think in 1992 Camerata Talinn came to Penrith, the place I was teaching. They inspired me to play Paganini's centone di Sonata for violin & guitar: nice people. In my last concert a couple from Lithuania talked to me, supposed to be fanastic cake bakers. You live in a good area, of course also home of Jasha Heifets, the greatest violinist.G.

  • He is very good but I really prefer the classical interpretation...

  • fantastico!! Congratulations Georg, it was great.

  • Hmm. I like his style, but he misses a couple of notes--just kinda glides right over them, on the upward scales. Sad face--those are my favorites in the first section. He played the middle section wonderfully, however.

Just my two cents. I performed this piece at a competition and got sent to the state competitions because of it. It's lucky :)

  • Ahh! My teacher wants me to learn this for my grade 7 but it looks so hard! On the other hadn, it would be very impressive if I could pull it off...

  • Wow! Nice interpretation!

  • Actrually silverbilda or watever...the song is a dance that you do after you get bit by a tarantella...and it would be your last dance...the fast paces in the song represent the face pacing heart you would have...and so forth

  • it was real good.

  • amazing. love the way he plays it, really dreamily. and loving the left hand pizz :):)

  • ultra speed in the end !! Bravo Bravo!!!!

  • Nice music nicely played, in an amazing place !

  • Cool interpretation of this piece!

  • Ehhh, this song is hard(ish) to learn

  • @iheartmycello yeah it is :P haha

  • @iheartmycello ahhh is it really? D: I'm supposed to be starting it next week and I'm already freaking out, haha

  • just to the tarantula comments, this song isnt about tarantula's, it's a tarantella...a dance that's meant to get rid of toxic bites...it don't mean tarantula

  • Tarantella is Tarantula. Its a dance to get rid of a Tarantula's poison.

  • silverdilber, you are wrong. If you would be correct, the dance would be called toxicella. The spread of the dance covers exactly the spread of the spider. To go from the specific to the general (bite of one to general toxic bites) is typical for cultural symbols; you are correct there. Also language tells the story; I recommend to look into etymological sound shifts. By the way, the spider is not that poisonous, but the large scary thing was ideal to make it an emotional symbol.G.

  • There is no tarantula in Europe, but there are wolf spiders.

If there are tarantulas in Europe, they are rare.

  • I like tarantulas.

  • I know someone who could play this - pretty well too!

  • I play this. It's amazing. :]

  • Please come to the States!

  • very good, but i like this piece a little more intense i guess is how i would say it. I usually with MUCH more weight on the string throughout the piece, i try to keep my tempo as consistent as possible from section to section, and i always draw out the second two notes of the d minor chord at the very end( and one third of the way) of the piece.

  • that's exactly how my friend plays this. I was listening to this and was wondering where all the agression was.

  • amazing i wish i could play the chello is my favorite string intrement that uses a bo

  • *cello

    and

    *bow

  • the acoustics here would be epic

  • it would be cool if he was in carlsbad caverns

    .

    amazing

  • im tryin to learn it on the violin =]

  • really is there like a violin part too

  • really? i'm studing cello and violin, so it'd be great to learn the parts of both instruments LOL

  • what a scary place to play at. a cave

  • i love this song so much even though i'm a violin player. he is so good. i can play basic cello only. but i'm learning this piece. its so hard to play it. because its so bigger than the violin

  • excellently!

  • WOOO

im doing this piece for nyssma

    rocks huh

  • So am I! It is a great song.

  • me three !!! :D yeah. its fun

  • yeah!!! me not!!!! i totally think ur all lying!!!!

  • hähä..... ???

  • i want to learn this on my cello now- he's amazing!!!!!!!!

  • very talented

  • Takes more skill to be a Cello player like this guy rathar than the likes of Herman Li or Buckethead, im not disputing they're not great gituirists but i'd like to see them play Tarantella on Cello lol

  • I love how you played your own accompaniment at certain parts lol

  • I am a cellist in the 8th grade at hornedo middle school in El Paso, TX, and I am currently learning this piece myself...it is hard, but so fun to play!

  • lol im a freshman, i was learning it last year for solo and ensemble, but i dropped out due to sickness. I'm glad to say i'll be picking it back up again this year, orechestra teacher says that if i just clean up the slurs in the beginning i'll get straight 1's

  • Unbelievable! I was at the Jenolan Caves yesterday and this man was walking out of Lucas Cave with his Cello as I was walking in..The Cathedral Chamber is awesome... John Denver pleased many tour groups with impromptu performances in the cathedral chamber I hear. John loved the Jenolan Caves and visited them many times... beautiful!

  • I love this! Its sounds so beautiful!!!

I have to know this solo by January for solo and ensemble

    I can't wait to learn it ^^

  • That is very interesting! Thank you for responding to my question. I work as a historical reinactor in Sacramento California but music is not my priority, attire is. Have you knowledge of where I might be able to find a seriously dissonant and bizarre version in sheet music so I could start looking for an accompanyist? Congratulations on playing in the caves. Extraordinary!

  • The cello Tarantellas I know are all from the Romantic period. For your purpose it might be an idea to search Amazon or cdbaby for either later Tarantellas or very early ones.

  • I am researching Lola Montez (@ 1856) and she was known for her Turantula Dance (as well as slutting around the european royalty before escaping to chile and california) is this her song?

  • There is virtually no other dance possible than the Tarantella. It was danced since c 1450 with swift changes of major/minor expressed in excessive mood swings and hysteria of the dancers, performed in pairs of male/female or 2 females. Does that match?

  • I'm learning it too, it's hard

  • Oh, you're incredable! I'm currently learning this piece. It's hard, but so much fun! Even if the backstory is a little unpleasant. :)
