In this video, had the overtaking truck slowed and lost his momentum, he would then probably have needed to drop one or two gears, slowing to a speed slower than the ones he's overtaking. It would cascade until traffic was crawling.... Just a little patience.

I don't know about the transportation laws in Slovenia, but here in north america, we can't drive more than 11 hours/day and we have huge distances to cover. Not uncommon to do 3400 miles/5500 kilometers a week. A lot of us have speed limiters. If I get you right, you expect a driver that is limited to 65 MPH not to over take another driver that is limited to 64 MPH so you can get home faster? So you want truckers to do less mileage each week? It means less things for you to buy in every store?

am driver too, i drive heavy truck everyday, town is crowded w/lots of small cars its risky, out of town i go 100 of speed but i never overtake like this. when somebody overtaking me i slow lil bit down i let him go, one of my friend he is in jail now 'he was in signal when the green light was on he was making u turn suddenly a car overspeed crushed in the middle of truck and the driver was dead in spot' and my friend was arrested so sad.. we are trying to pull him out god help us..
the point is that all truks have an electronic device wich limits the maximum speed of the truck at 90 or 100 km/h. So if a truck is running at full speed is quite hard to be overtaken by another truck because they have the almost the same speed, it takes a few minutes for a truck to overtake another truck, the result is traffic slowdown, traffic jam, e.t.c.
alot of trucks have speed control govenors. my truck has 515hp but will not exceed 64mph. which is an attempt to save on fuel by the company that I work for. this is why we get stuck in these slow overtaking situations but the truth is we do this for a living day in and day out and we trust each other to run side by side to make an overtake a whole shit load more than we trust the basic four wheeler. you think you are scared of our big truck, we are more scared of you. drive your car, thats all.

I don't see the big deal here. In Australia we get road trains overtaking each other at 100-110km/h on our single carraigeway highways ( 2 lanes with opposite directions of traffic)

am driver too, i drive heavy truck everyday, town is crowded w/lots of small cars its risky, out of town i go 100 of speed but i never overtake like this. when somebody overtaking me i slow lil bit down i let him go, one of my friend he is in jail now 'he was in signal when the green light was on he was making u turn suddenly a car overspeed crushed in the middle of truck and the driver was dead in spot' and my friend was arrested so sad.. we are trying to pull him out god help us..

the point is that all truks have an electronic device wich limits the maximum speed of the truck at 90 or 100 km/h. So if a truck is running at full speed is quite hard to be overtaken by another truck because they have the almost the same speed, it takes a few minutes for a truck to overtake another truck, the result is traffic slowdown, traffic jam, e.t.c.

alot of trucks have speed control govenors. my truck has 515hp but will not exceed 64mph. which is an attempt to save on fuel by the company that I work for. this is why we get stuck in these slow overtaking situations but the truth is we do this for a living day in and day out and we trust each other to run side by side to make an overtake a whole shit load more than we trust the basic four wheeler. you think you are scared of our big truck, we are more scared of you. drive your car, thats all.

im sure what we have in Oz is nothing special, but qld's M1 motor way is 4lanes each way at 110km/h and sometimes you get 4 trucks wide overtaking each other down there, doing more then 110, as they just passed me/everyone else. Should i also mention these trucks sport "100km/h speed limited' singage haha. As long as they get what they're taking where they need it so be it. Truckies are the safest drivers on the road. Driving is what they do for a living.

They give up many of the things you take 4 granted. like a family, going home at night, They're hounded from every direction. Cops, Weight Stations, Insurance, fuel prices, receivers, dispatchers, media, and still they do their job. AAA stated 95% of accidents between autos and trucks are caused by the auto. 4 u. and u say that about them?

one truck will do say 104kph and the other 105kph so the faster one sloooooooooowly passes the slower one. its the eqipment that sets the limiters at the dealers thats a little out or even something as simple as being set with old tyres then fitting new ons gives you 2kph speed more.

Anytime I see a truck driver on the highway doing something illegal I call the highway patrol and report a wreck less driver. I have called in hundreds over the years. Fuck em, they have killed enough motorists on the highways because they always have to push it to the max and then they wipe out and kill someone or get the whole freeway shut down.
