You would think so and it does! that's why most people put smc rings to make a drip line which works perfeclty. There's videos on how to do that, just youtube it. I did one.
This is just a video on the standard straight out of the bag version which works ok in short showers but you will need to add drip lines for an extended stay out in the rain for sure. Cheers.

i have one of these and its awesome. i would recommend waterproofing the rain fly though, as with all other tent rain flies
