This song is amazing, so too was Brian Connolly. I would have loved to have been around when Sweet were playing. Even when Brian and the New Sweet were playing I would have rather seen them than Steve Priest or Andy Scott despite Brian's ill health.
Theres a 80's band called Mad Max who sang this song. They SUCKED !!!! Brian, Andy, Steve, and Mick were the best !!!! R.I.P Brian and Mick. Rock on Andy and Steve !!!!!!
the sweet were much more than a glam rock band but never got the recognition they deserved . poor management as well as other things robbed them of true greatness rip brian and mick you like will never be seen again so too sir jimmy saville !!!
@margonca17 That's Noel Edmonds. He's a 'popular' tv host. He presented top of the pops during the 1970s, and went on to work on many tv shows. He's currently the host of the British edition of 'Deal or no deal'
@abbafan50986 Thanks for the info. Is because he looks like Russell Crowe, the actor. That show never pass in my country but what I see in youtube is so good. Greetings. =)
Brian Connolly was the most charismatic ,brilliant front man to ever grace the TOTP stage ! As soon as the presenter announced the band ,Brian immediately commanded the attention of the viewer; he was irreplacable .!
@edgroove7 Yeah, Brian was such a unique and gifted performer and vocalist and Mick was definitely one of the most under-rated drummers in the business. There were lots of memorable characters in this era of music for sure !
Mick Tucker is still the best stick twirler I've ever seen - check it out @ 2:15 (plus lots of other clips!!! R.I.P. Mick, hope you and Brian are making lots of great music together up there (or wherever you are!!)
@RickEStereo They must be in the place that is the final destination for every big rocker, whether it's glam rock or death metal... And as far as I believe, in there the fox is still on the run :)
@Tulip4312 It's TOTP and no live-gig. (Almost) every band did not play live in such tv shows. From 1972 on the bands had to make a seperat record of the song they wanted to "play" just before the show... It's not live, but it is also not the normal studio-version which is known from the 7"
Outstanding glam rock band. The Sweet were a part of my early teenage school days when music was real, and you you spent your pocket money in the record shop on a Saturday afternoon...they were the days...thank you for posting nyrainbow4
Queen has their first album out in the UK in 1973 so they were contemporaries of The Sweet, but by 1975 (when this came out) we had the end on the glam rock era and were only 18 months away from Punk Rock
@nwleeuw Really? Was this a 1970s Feyenoord away kit? In the UK we only saw the green one they beat Spurs in for the 74 UEFA Cup, never saw them play in black and white.
It was downhill for them in the UK after this, alas, but this is still tremendous, a rock bite (which they'd previously been forced to confine to their B-sides) distilled into three radio-friendly minutes as few others knew how ... and their follow-up "Action" *really* is proto-punk.

The Sweet broke into the music scene in the 70s, while Queen in the 80s,
could have been close rivals.. both great talents,& showmanship..
