  • I want the song but can't find it T.T

  • is the actor portaying gloin the same as gimli in lotr?

  • @JohnTheRock98: No, Gimli was played by John Rhys-Davies, while Gloin is played by Peter Hambleton. They got the family resemblance right, though. (Actually, I think if I remember the extra features on RotK right, Rhys-Davies swore he'd never play another dwarf again. He had the highest respect for the LOTR films and all the people involved, but the makeup was apparently just murder ... especially for a package of three very long movies filmed at once over a number of years.)

  • When I was watching this trailer in the movie theater I almost had a cow, because of Martin freeman!!!!!!! <3 I love him so much! I kept nudging my sister telling her how I adore him, and how he's from Sherlock and I had a fangirl moment with my self, while my sister was going, "This is why I don't have a tumblr."

  • they who disliked ment "this i like" ofc

  • my uncle showed me this trailer...makes me wanna read the books :-)

  • CHECK OUT MY RAP SONGS ON MY PAGE THEY SOUND DAMN NEAR LIKE THE HOBBIT

  • I'd be more excited about this if it hadn't killed the option for an Elfquest movie.

  • It's looks like at least some of the songs from the book are going to be incorporated into the film (though maybe modified slightly.) I for one am glad about this because if there was one strength the animated version had it was how they incorporated the songs and chants Tolkien wrote into the soundtrack, and by the sample we got, it seems the films songs will be as epic.

  • WHO THE FUCK DISLIKED????

  • "i cant just go running off into the blue, i am a Baggins!" oh martin freeman <3

  • recycling ideas? hahahahaha

¡Thorin Oakenshield! *_* I'll cry at the end, Im sure.

  • I SWEAR TO GOD IM GONNA FIND THESE 3 PEOPLE

  • Tim!

  • Hahaha in the info it says David Tennant is in it xD i don't know but is he? I dont think he is tho!

  • @WhackyJonathan13 : Apparently not, though at one point he was being considered for the role of King Thranduil. (Lee Pace landed the role last spring, so the header info for the video is quite out of date.) David would have made a good elf, though.

  • The dislike bar is like Sauron. It doesnt exist anymore.

  • @SpecLaika haha

  • oh lolz Watson ftw

  • jesus...some of you people are retarded. A movie may deviate from a text a bit to better fit a theatrical version, such as the LOTR trilogy, which is my fFAVORITE movie trilogy of all time in my recollection. my opinion. I also adore the books, but still love the movies. The deviations do not make it any less of what those movies were, epic, emotional, and full of heart and plot. Its a fulfilling experience. The Hobbit will be no different, it will deliver all of what we want and more.

  • i sugest you read the book first, belive me you'l love it

  • I don't like the fact, that the dwarfs are computer animations.

  • @Blaeckchen The dwarfs are not computer.. they are real actors look the behind the cameras, all of them are actors (:

  • @Feede88

They are 100% computer animated, just look at 1:06 or 2:04 .

  • why the hell some of the dwarves look like humans??? im talking about Thorin, Fili, Kili and Bofur...WTF!!!

  • @Tincho969X because they are tolkien dwarfs. This is how they look in the books. Not all look like from Games Workshop or something.

  • @thegrimnok they dont look like humans in the book!!! all dwarves have long beards...some of them here dont!

  • @Tincho969X Thank fucking god, someone noticed...

  • @Tincho969X jackson said he was trying to make them individuals! if they all had big beards and looked the same it would be boring and hard to care about them. its already been said that the hobbit is lighter in tone than lotr anyway

  • @smogonthetees1 I agree with that but you can still make them individuals looking like dwarves instead of humans...I know its just a detail but is a big one...anyways, hope the movie kicks ass!!!

  • @Tincho969X well what does a dwarf look like. there is no right and wrong because they are fantasy! you can assiociate them looking a certain way, but i thing they look good. u can tell them apart easier lol

  • @smogonthetees1 p.s i know dwarves do exist, i meant fantasy ones lol

  • @Tincho969X Because they dont have wide-ass noses,it is common in dwarves but not a require-to-be-one.

  • what the hell is this

  • LOL everyone who didn't read the book knows who will NOT die.

  • You're kidding me right?! Orlando Bloom somehow got himself in this one too? And why is Galadriel stroking Gandalf's hair? She's not even in the hobbit!

  • @Rocketshippotter21 : Legolas is the son of king Thranduil who rules over the Elven kingdom of northern Mirkwood that figures so prominently in the latter half of the story. And Galadriel is a member of the White Council, which is in "The Hobbit." Jackson is drawing on other Tolkien writings to flesh out backstory and context.

  • @Rocketshippotter21 Orlando Bloom plays as Legolis. He is the son of the leader of the Wood Elves in Mirkwood. I hope, though that they keep with the story line in this part, and don't give him a big role in the imprisonment of the dwarves.

  • its so funny when bilbo runs with the map

  • Three guys dont like small people

  • Holy shit, it's Dr. Watson from Sherlock as Bilbo!

  • Hi, its nice to see you again.... Snnnnneegalll.

  • 0:51 thumbs up if you got goosebumps

  • I dont know if I will like this movie because I havnt read the book and I was so in love with LOTR it just doesnt seem right watching something simular with different characters. Any1 else feel the same??

  • @Theyalwaysscore1 well go read the fucking book then..... :/

  • this is what you get when you put harry potter and load of the rings together.

  • @hashishking1990 No, this is what you get when you make a film about the Hobbit...

  • @hashishking1990 What is this blasphemy?

  • @hashishking1990 Hey, you can just knock that crap off. You cant even put harry potter and The Hobbit in the same category. You should just go and hate on something else, because I can name about a thousand people who will be utterly offended by your statement, as am I.

  • @zachgolden46 lmao seeing all the reply's you comment you must be a nerd lmao!

  • HD???

  • There is far TOO MUCH LotR in this movie. Why?! This is The Hobbit! Tolkien wrote it before LotR! Why can´t it simply stay the way Tolkien intended it? I mean, everyone is going to watch it anyway, it doesn´t take a Sauron, Galadriel or whatever to be successful... also I am missing the general storyline in the trailer. Yeah, you see everything that is related to the LotR movie, but I wouldnt know what The Hobbit is about, if I had not read the book...

  • @9Nienor Sauron is in the Hobbit, he is the Necromancer, and isn't in the trailer, so don't know what you're talkng about.

  • @dyst0piate

Well, but at the time, he wrote the Hobbit, Tolkien himself didn´t even "know" that the socalled Necromancer was Sauron or something that important. It was - just as the White Council - an excuse that Gandalf had to leave. And as Galadriel WAS in the trailer and I know that Saruman will also play a part in the new movie, it COULD be that Sauron will be there as well. Which would be completely wrong and unnecessary!

  • @9Nienor Same here... and I pray that they don't cut Beorn the way they cut Tom Bombadil...

  • @Draculica

    Thank you! Really!

I mean, what are they actually thinking?! "Yeah, let´s put in Saruman, Galadriel and Legolas (okay, that one is actually acceptable) so we can be sure that every fan of our former LotR movie will watch and love it. Well, we won´t have time and money for *vital* characters like Beorn then, but doesn´t matter! As long as we get our money."

Next comes the Silmarillion, I bet -.- and then, I really don´t want to live on this planet anymore :D

  • @9Nienor A screenplay simply can't and will never be the same as a book. As far as adaptations go the general consensus is that Peter Jackson and team have done a fine job on the LOtR films. If it's not good enough for certain die hard fans: so be it, the novels are right on the shelf where you left them. For the record, Beorn will be in the film.

  • @Inmate12355 I agree with you, every movie based on a book/true story has some points that are - more or less - different. For simplicitys, moneys or the audiences sake. And I accept that. But there are some things, that could easily have been avoided. I do not talk about Tom Bombadil or any other excluded person, but the characters that went trough a massive makeover (Frodo, Arwen, Faramir...I am talking about their personality now). I hope this will not be the same with the new movie...

  • @9Nienor : I'm glad Peter Jackson was running this show, rather that you. I thought the characterizations were generally spot on ...

  • @9Nienor This comment doesn't make sense. The Hobbit is part of the LotR world and LotR built on the Hobbit. Tolkien even went back and rewrote parts of the hobbit to fit in with LotR. It doesn't take Sauron/Galadriel to make it successful? Of course not. But that was actually part of the Hobbit. At that time the storyline was undeveloped, but the Necromancer is a major part of it. What other reason would you give for Gandalf leaving? Anything else would be more of a deviation from Tolkien.

  • @DraumurionLawnmower

It does make sense. The White Council + Sauron might be a part of the Hobbit, but as Tolkien himself said, only an excuse for Gandalf to leave. No name of the White Council (as well as Sauron) was mentioned in the book, so why should it take a greater part in the movies? As for Sauron: I stick to the original Hobbit, and at the time he wrote it, he didn´t even know the Necromancer would be or become that important, as he was in his later/former works.

  • @9Nienor The film you're talking about would be an film of the storyline that Tolkien wrote in 1937. It evolved into LotR and many things which WERE in the hobbit - the Necromancer, the Ring, and so forth - became important, and are important to the overarching plot. Would you therefore also remove any hints to the Ring being a hidden force of evil, as Jackson will doubtless include? From this trailer we can see how faithful he's being to the book - the song is an example. Tolkien's own words.

  • @DraumurionLawnmower

No, I would not. And as far as I remember, the ring is also a bit sinister in the Hobbit book. But I doubt that you got my message right. What I meant was that they are paying too much attention to things, that are of minor importance, whereas I fear the opposite will happen (again, see Tom Bombadil) to the important parts/characters. And they would have been dumb to exclude that song/poem!

  • @9Nienor Which characters are you worried they will exclude/pay little attention to? As far as I can tell from the cast lists, everything I can find in the book is included; Beorn, Lindir, the Master of Laketown... with 2 films, I can't see much, even minor in the book, being missed out. The only character I've not yet found is Dain II, who only appears near the end anyway... they may not have cast him yet.

  • @DraumurionLawnmower

It isn´t only characters, as I said. And also they do not even have to exclude them. In the LotR movies are many characters displayed completely wrong... I actually don´t like the fact, that nowadays every book has to be split in two movies, but in that case I hope it helps... well, all I can do is wait and see...

  • @DraumurionLawnmower The Master of Laketown has to be in there. He plays a very important role in the book. Beorn not so much, but the master of Laketown has to be in there.

  • It's NOT a fucking Song. It's a POEM written by Tolkien Read the fcking book.

  • Richard Armitage, FTW.

  • 2 people are not PREEEEEEEEEECIIOUUS

  • why is this video only showing my views?

  • You know a movie is going to be good when the trailer makes your neck crawl.

  • I wish youtube would show that disliker's IP so i could find him and introduce my hand to her face and then shit in her cunt.

  • for all of you naysaying morons, this movie is a) based on a Tolkien novel which is b) a prequel to LOTR, c) has been planned for years and d) will be nothing other than EPIC. read a book ffs!

  • So now hollywood is recycling their movie ideas? Hasn't anyone here hear'd about LOTR?

  • @KemikaaliNisti people like you make me not want to live on this planet anymore...

  • @KemikaaliNisti Vittu sä hessu oot tyhmä :DDD:DDD:D:D:D:D:DDDDDD

  • @KemikaaliNisti Wow... seriously, wow... You have no idea, do you? Yes, we have heard of LOTR which is based on Tolkiens LOTR novel which is sequel to the Hobbit novel also by Tolkien! Doesn't anyone read anymore!!

Aw man, this is gonna be so awesome!!! I love the book! This HAS to be EPIC!!!!!!!

... too bad we have to wait almost for year...

  • @KemikaaliNisti I'm hoping your comment about recycling movie ideas was a joke cause I refuse to believe that anyone is THAT out of the loop when it comes to great literature. This movie (The Hobbit) isn't based on another movie (LOTR), it's based on a book! The book that was written before LOTR, It's the prequel!!. Please go to a book store or download it or whatever and read it! For the love of all that is good people...READ!!!!

  • oh look its john watson XD (or looks like him anyway :D)

  • ooh dam i love lord of the rings n super exited for this one!

  • WOW!

  • My precious.... Gollum's come back xD

  • The dwarves's name are in sims language

  • I'm super excited for this! I mean both: finding an actual trailer and for the movie!

  • Far over, the misty mountains cold,

Through dungeons deep, and caverns old,

The pines were roaring, on the heights,

The winds were mourning, in the night,

The fire was red, it flaming spread,

The trees like torches, blazed with light.

    Awesome song

  • @oscaralhosvitominas Actually, it's a hacked together version of two stanzas of the song.

    The first stanza goes

Far over the misty mountains cold

To dungeons deep and caverns old

we must away ere break of day

to win our long forgotten gold.

And then there's the rest of the song. It goes for like two dozen quatrains about the fall of Erebor, the coming of Smaug, and the fleeing of Thror, Thrain, and Thorin.

  • @oscaralhosvitominas just one little correction..to* dungeons deep not through :D

  • un fuckin real!!!!!!

  • estoy emocionada!!

  • 0:50 song

  • Gollum again :D

  • Gandalf był młody !!! ;d

  • @Astroch127 Nebyl... He wasn't, it was about 60 years before LOTR, BUT wizards in middle earth do not age as normal people, because they are demigods so to speak..

  • @Skinnyhead90 ja nie lubie czytac po angielsku po 1 a po 2 to ja z POLSKI JESTEM !!!!!!!

  • nooo, 12 more months? >.<

Also, not enough beard on the dwarves. I can deal with a few shorter ones, but Thorin at least should have a respectable dwarven beard!

  • I'm a really big fan of the LotR-series, but I can't come over the fact that the dwarfs in this movie looks absolutely horrible and childish, almost as if they were taken straight out of a child-movie, like Narnia or something.....

Do you agree with me? Do you see what I mean? Or have I gone mad from studying the looks of Gimli? I know that Balin is the cousin of Gimli, but this "balin" has a complete different apperal compared to the dwarf-race.....

  • @formerdave94 Nope, I don't notice it, seem dwarf to me

  • Heh, another bored Peter Jackson movie...

HAH NO W8 FOR YEARS FOR HOBBIT MOVIE, READ 3 TIME THEN TIME TO MOVIE!

  • zapowiada się ZAJEBIŚCIE

  • Have you noticed the subliminal symbol of Apple? (bottom right)

  • What's that Apple logo in the right corner?

  • Proud New Zealand movie thumbs up if your from New Zealand =D

  • I think Gollum or Smaug has disliked this...

  • @WhackyJonathan13 Gollum, Smaug and Azog

  • I'm deeply disappointed seeing Tolkien's dwarfs singing in plain english. What happened to epic Khuzdul damn it! I demand this song being remade at once!

  • No Aragorn = bad movie!!!

  • @TheVeXMusic This is the prequel to LOTR, this is Bilbo's story and how he found the ring, so of course Aragorn won't be there

  • MY PRECIOUUUS IS BACK !!!!

  • @morespamforya "cheap lotr rip off" The Hobbit is written by the same author. The characters are similar because they have some of the same characters!

  • Smaug disliked this

  • lol Thorin looks like Mufasa :)

  • I'm a Thorin and i'm digging a hole, diggy diggy hole, dig.. fuck.

  • I SWEAR ON MY OATH TO THE LOTR.IF ENY OF THOSE DWARFS DIE IM GONNA SHOOT MY MOM IN THE DICK!......and that goes for peter jackson aswell.
