  • If you're interested in art, camouflage and trash/pollution watch: Safe the planet-Recycling Art" and "Miss Biarritz". Enjoy it!!

  • @brodiehi123

I'm also in college. I'd highly recommend picking up at least a Bachelor's in English as you can then travel the world sailing and make port in various cities and teach as you go. I am saving up for a boat myself and I intend on sailing around the world a few times!

  • A great video guys, looks like a real adventure...

  • Thanks lads for posting a video which makes these dark nights without any sailing feel a bit better! One day me and the wife are going to cross the Atlantic and come to America the way it should be done!

Comment for zintoit: you are, as we say in Britain, a w*nk*r. Contact me if you want the spelling and the meaning.

  • Here is the story of 3 utterly uninspired ILL-PREPARED SLOBS.. on a thoughtless and stupid meandering into the freaking ocean. THE LEAST.. the absolute very least they could do is smoke some weed for their troubles. Nothing uplifting here.

  • Do you have to overcome sea-sickness everytime you head out to sea?

  • Fantastic!

  • This is one the best video sets on youtube! Thanks guys!

  • how metres long you ship?I WANT SAILING TOOOOOO!! i am soi crazy of ships,seas.......!

  • That's not so bad. Once we lost our corkscrew and had to survive on nothing but food and water for days.

  • what kind of boat? like manufacturer and model

  • Look's like pure raw fun and a lot of work !!!!: ) Peace

  • Good for you guys keeping the art of Sailing alive.

  • couple hundred more miles and you guys can get ur sparrow

  • What do you do in a bad storm in a boat that small? Seriously- 40 ft. swells in bad winds do break at the top. Teeth.

  • I would really like to do his one day.

  • This kind of adventure took balls. Read Kon Tiki. The rest of you are just idiots. Radio in a bag? Yeah, forgot my icemaker too.

  • Very impressing!

  • I have seen so many trips on the internet, but if i have to choose one vessel, I would take this, because of its crew! LOL Bravo Amigos!

  • @unisailor Wouldn't it suck to plan a trip like this only to find that your crew/friends weren't up for it? Or that they became assholes under pressure? These guys seem to mesh really well!

  • What an amazing journey.

  • Hi- just kind of curious why they didn't keep a spare radio wrapped in watertight material? Last time I checked the first rule of sailing is "Everything that is not wet is damp" no mater what you do!

  • A spare ssb in a bag... Hardly feasible. I imagine they concentrated on packing important spares. Boat will still work fine without hf.

  • i've only been out on the ocean once but i feel in love with the sea. i want to go back out so much...

  • you rock!

  • Great video--great adventure!

By the way, I once had a 27 foot Cape Dory called "Tumbleweed"!

  • Yes, because tiller watch sucks- I've done it a few times, and the thought of holding that damn'd tiller in all weather SUCKS! Cold, ice, roasting in the sun? Nope,,,no fun at all

  • LOL - I"m obsessed with watching the clipper round the world yacht race through their website - now that really is sailing! The diaries and video's really make me want to be there

  • so when its nighttime, do you have a night person who keeps the boat going or you lower the sails and put out some kind of anchor? or just drift?

  • I thought it was interesting you all were motoring out of washington and the seas appeared very calm not typical of washington from what ive seen. Also comical when everyone commented on the pasta, but when he offered seconds the replay was oh noooo.... :) what a great trip I envy you guys.

  • awesome! Can't wait to do that one day with my wonderful wife and our dog.

  • courageous.

  • good clip guys i remember taking a similar trip some time back brings back memories.

  • thanks for sharing a very realistic and accurate portrayal of sailing across and ocean. it was awesome in its honesty. i will do that someday.

  • Nice video. I am making my first Transpac Race this year so I am very excited.

  • This is waht my boyfriend is dreaming of, when i see this i get inspiration and starts to chare his dream.

    Thanks for this video :)

    With love from Sweden <3

    Jasmine

  • excellent

  • Man I wish I could start sailing right now. It sucks being 18 and having a dream that's so far off.

  • hehe sooo agree... But it's really as far off as you make it.

  • Man, that's what we all want to be again, 18 and that is very far off when you are 48! You just can do such a journey when you put all your power to it, nothing to loose!

  • Join the Navy young man.

  • Ehh no. The point is freedom, not miltary discipline and a shaved head.

  • @XvDarkArcanavX "It sucks being 18"... LOL! What sucks is being 53 and not having sailed across any oceans! You're not that far off your dream.

You'll do it. Save and plan. You can be out on your own boat within a few years. The wife and I started less than a years ago. Through hard work we are now on our second boat and loving it. Nothing you can't do, too!

  • @XvDarkArcanavX There are two 16 year old girls sailing around the world alone! And they're not alone as in it's just the two of them, I mean each one is separately doing it. One is Australian Jessica Watson, the other is American Abby Sunderland. Both fascinating stories and both are still out. Jessica is nearly finished and back in Australian waters, Abby is near S. Africa. They both collected up sponsors for help pay for it, Jessica's boat is borrowed even! You can do it! Check them out :)

  • @XvDarkArcanavX start with a hobie cat.!!!! between 500 and 600!

  • @XvDarkArcanavX Better than being 36 and a dream so far off......

  • @XvDarkArcanavX I feel u man, I'm also 18 and having same dream.

    Greetings from Finland

  • @DeOptimist I also am 18, sharing the dream of a life sailing, yet I am stuck for another 3.5 years in school. Have any plans to enter the world of sailing? And DarkArcana, now that you are 20, have you done any major sailing yet?

  • @XvDarkArcanavX i'm 18 and i sail most weekends... my cousins sailed the sydney to hobart race on super maxis a few weeks after they finished school. Get out there and into it!

  • @XvDarkArcanavX I know the feeling, but at least you have all that ahead of you. Would be harder if you got the idea to sailaround the wrodl when youre 70 ;)

  • Im trying to get a boat in cali though

  • this is a a dream for me.i cant talk the wifey into it, but she says i can go...ehehehe

anyone takin a trip and need a chef, let me know.....

  • my fiance's letting me i need a boat

  • see you out there!

  • its a wopper hahaha funny

  • Nice movie!Thanks for sharing!

  • When did you depart for this trip?

  • Looks Like a lot of fun. Nice Video.

  • A truly inspirational video. It was due to videos like this which inspired me to start sailing. Excellent work and thank you to you all for my new way of life.

  • Can i come with you and sale next time..?

  • The paddle is for the wind vane. The wind hits the paddle which in turn, moves the rudder in the water and corrects your course to the wind direction. That's the simplified version anyway.

Excellent video. My friend and I are sailing our Newport 41 down to the South Pacific and I want to make a video diary like this. I wish there was more out there!

  • This is a great video series. Can someone please tell me what the function of the paddle is in minute 1:48?

  • dayyymmmm son. thats incredible!

    how did you avoid storms?

  • nice!

  • Good on you!

  • Westsail 32? 75 mile days - ugh!

  • nice thanks

  • Lucky their nav aids didnt pack up you might miss the island !

  • call me gone, pare.

  • I'am a woman, I grew up on a Sailboat. I'd love to do a trip like this!

  • why do we need to know youre a woman?

    does it matter?

  • read the comment of TrooperLFC below

  • and no women? is that good or bad?

  • not a lot of women would agree to a sail like that? 37 days without shopping and soap operas in telly? there would be a bloody mutiny on the boat.

  • Awesome I have been looking for footage like this.. How big is the boat? Good times

  • This is great I have been looking for footage like this... How big is tumelweed.. I live in Olympia where are you guys? Good times

  • exellent thanks!!!!

  • Well done!

  • I sailed from hawaii to seattle with my uncle and a friend it took 33 days

  • You need an Iridium phone. Do you have a reverse osmosis pump for desalination?

  • That would have come in handy being that we lost out radio 2 days into our sail. We had a water maker--Cap'n discusses it in one of the clip Passage 1 - Passage 4

  • Great Video. I would like to share info with the skipper.I also have a Tayana 37 and would like to ask some questions on the boats performance. How would I contact same?

  • Great job! I liked it, the food looks good, the weathers not that bad, and all of you have stomachs of steel!

  • I love it all...even the sharks! Fair winds and full sails

  • wow!i love the ocean! well...xcept the part where theres sharks and other dangerous things!

  • Looks amazing..wish I was there with you.
