It irks me when people (including her fans) badmouth her music. Good music is subjective, not everyone is going to agree on what's good. Personally, I love all her music, from her old Japanese tracks to her English discs from the 2000's. I love them all and my cd's are almost worn out from playing in my car. I will always be her fan, even if she puts out a CD with nothing but animal sounds on it.

Here's the deal with Utada (oo-tah-dah for those of you who don't know. Not you-tah-duh). Almost all of her older, Japanese songs rock. Exodus had its good points, but it was weird, so no pop American is willing to listen to it. And This is the One has good songs, but the actual song is hidden under popular culture and synthesizer. To conclude my statement, I love Utada with a burning passion, and nothing anyone says is ever going to change my mind. That is simply that.

I don't think Hikki is Buddhist. In Japan the main religion is Shintoism, and it's kind of like Buddhism, but it focuses on spirit and nature worship. And in Japan, even if people say they're Buddhists, they still practice Shintoism in a way. And that's the same with Japanese who are Christians. Shintoism is so part of the culture, that even if you are Catholic you would still go to a Shinto temple to pray.
